The coolest storyline and graphics amongst the ND games, in my opinion, BUT the puzzles can be quite challenging. Took me a long time to finish the game. I had to use the ND website for many clues, but I am not the savviest game player anyway. Definitely worth the time and money.
One of my favorites.

I absolutely adore the entire Nancy Drew series. This edition was one of my favorites though. The detail and beauty was so rich. I loved exploring the nooks and crannies of this old manor. There were definately some spooky parts that made it very thrilling. It was more of a challenge than the others. I had problems with a few puzzles. Overall though, I loved every minute of this game. Well worth the buy.
LOVED IT!

I loved this game so much! My favorite Nancy Drew games are the scary myesterys (See "Message in a Haunted Mansion"). I could barely even play it in the dark of my room because it scared me! It was sort of hard but i loved it anyways. If you are planning on buying Nancy Drew games this is a great one!
Inappropriate? I don't think so

I see nothing wrong with Her Interactive venturing into the subjects of witchcraft and that sort of thing. They never support it, and show no opinion whatsoever. There is no mention of the 'devil' or anything like that. It made the game much more spooky. I understand that others find it against their morals/religion, and that's why I said "I" don't think so. (Even though I myself would never try witchcraft) I'm just letting you all now that Nancy Drew does not practice witchcraft. :D So even if witchcraft gets you a little leery, go ahead and try the game. There's nothing wrong with playing a game involving that sort of thing ( in my opinion of course :) )
Anyway, to the review...I love this game (along with the rest of the games), though I would not recommend starting with this game, as it is very difficult and meant for more experianced players. I would suggest starting with Message in the Haunted Mansion (just as scary, a little easier(still challenging), and my favorite!) It's one of the scarier games (if not the scariest) and let's just say that when you go to sleep, you may have some spooky dreams...mysteriously all occuring at 3:00 AM. See what a mansion with a curse can do to you?
As I said earlier, this game may be extremely difficult for some at times (especially near the end...*shudders*) So watch out...Your in for some challenging puzzles, a scare, and a great time!
Great Game, like most Nancy Drew games...

When I first played the Curse of Blackmoor Manor, I didn't know what to expect. But once I started, I simply could not turn the computer off! I loved it. It had intrigue, challenge, and fun. It was nice to play a challenging game that didn't involve shooting zombies or racing cars. So here's what the game is about.
You play the role of Classic Girl Detective, Nancy Drew. As such, you are involved in a rather hairy mystery. I mean scary. Scary mystery. See, a friend of the family has asked you to figure out why her daughter is acting so strangely. You fly out to England (yes, ENGLAND!) to Blackmoor Manor to visit Linda Penvellyn and the Penvellyn family. Linda claims to be sick and refuses to see anyone, even though her mother says she is perfectly fine. But you learn of an ancient myth regarding the manor saying that there is a beast, like a werewolf, that terrorizes the manor, and people suspect that Linda may be turning INTO this monster. Its up to you as Nancy Drew to solve this mystery once and for all so that Linda can get well soon!
This game has fun challenging puzzles, interesting characters, and funny dialogue. Definitely two thumbs up!

I thought it was hard, if I didn't have a cheat sheet,I wouldn't have a clue. The dungeon is rooms within rooms and I kept getting lost. I wasn't fond of having to play a game everytime I needed a flashlight. I didn't like all the other games you were forced to play either. Unfortunately I am still chasing the 13 ghosts around in order to get my next clue. I am finding the whole thing monontonous and somewhat frustrating, not fun!

Her Interactive has done it again. They've released a new thrilling game to their series of Nancy Drew mystery games. You, as Nancy Drew, take on your first international mystery with excitement! You've been asked to help solve a mystery surrounding Blackmoor Manor, an old manor that has been in the Penvellyn family for hundreds of years. A newly wed to the family, Linda Petrov, has suddenly closed herself in her room and has a curtain shielding her from sight. What has caused her sudden change has the whole family wondering. It is your job to find out why Linda has taken on this change.
You will come face to face with new challenges, and a new spin on the characters, which you are sure to enjoy. The puzzles of this game are much more challenging, just as finding the suspects is challenging. Take time to wander around the ancient building, during both daytime and the night hours. Find out secrets about the manor's past residence, and take time to play with their history. Rumours about a beast and convicted witches runs wild in the family. This is a game that is sure to thrill you, scare you, and maybe even make you laugh.
I enjoyed "Curse of Blackmoor Manor" very much. It took me a total of four days to complete. This game is very challenging and I say that in a positive way. It's a good change from the past games. This one has you set your mind to doing the tasks, overcoming its challenges, and scoping out the culprit. There is an eerie atmosphere, which is completed by the music and the secretiveness of each of the characters. Great graphics and a large screen have helped to improve the game. It is no longer a necessity to call Nancy's friends, which is a nice change. I'm sure that you'll enjoy some aspect of the game, whether it is the music, the setting, the characters, or the deeper secrets that lie within the plot.
