All star baseball 2002 stunk up the whole house. It was extremely slow. Also every time i use power it would be a homer. This is a big upgrade from last year. This year there is a franchise mode which is great. The graphics are amazing. the hitting is hard when using the hitting box. Flaws: sometimes you can't control wher it is throwing, pitchers don't last to long, and i personally don't like the instant replay after EVERY play. But overall great game.

The baserunning [stinks], the hitting [stinks], and the fielding is only marginally better at best. Players are hard to control on base paths, the only challenging hitting is on all-star mode and it [stinks], and the fielders do what they please ehre and there.
I'd never buy this game after playing my roommates.

While I only give this game 2 stars, the potential is limitless! All the games anymore will let you create a player and play a season, sure...How many have cards, stadiums, players and teams to unlock?!?... Those are some of the goods....Now here's the extreme downfall....The hitting!... As soon as the pitcher releases the ball, you'd better have the cursor where it belongs. No, don't look at where you THINK it's going or where it LOOKS like it's going. Even if the cursor is right where the icon should be, you always end up hitting high. Like a blink of an eye the ball whizzes to the catchers mitt with little or no time to react....
If it wasn't for the hitting problem, which you'll find alot of people have, not just rookies, this game would be awesome. Another major downfall is always having a darn Yankee on the cover. What's the deal with that?!... If you can find this game for less then $50, pick it up. Other than that it will sit on your shelf, disappointing you everytime you look at it.

It looks like there are NO good baseball games this year. This game is much better in gameplay, and graphics than high heat 2003. It doesnt get boring as quick as high heat. Also, the schedual SEEMS to be from this years, not like high heat. I say you should rent both because they are both fun.....for about 3 days.

It is about time that one game had everything baseball fans need. ASB 2003 perfectly combines game play and statistics to make it the new standard. I have recently purchased the game, but after about 15 games I have found the scoring to be realistic, the game time manageable, and the difficulty level challenging. Their are tricky aspect to fielding and hitting which I'm sure in time will become easier. One thing I wish is that there was a way to save a game in progress. The trivia game is a nice little add on. The graphics look great, and I LOVE the franchise option. I look forward to many hours of game play. If you like baseball get this game!

... reading all of Acclaim's hype and being disappointed. One 9 inning game contains about 30 strikeouts, takes over an hour to finish and is horribly loaded with glitches. When the runners steal, the player misses the tag each time, but the player is still out, it doesnt even look close, and I have seen Sega Genseis baseball games more graphically pleasing. The bells and whistles are great, if u want to SIM thorugh seasons and be a GM for [money] , but if u like to buy baseball games to actually play the baseball then please do not buy All Star, go for High Heat!!

THIS GAME HAS GREAT GRAPHICS AND THE GAME MODES ARE AWSOME,BUT YOU CANT SCORE RUNS.BASE HITS ARE EASY BUT EXTRA BASE HITS ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET,IF U COMBINED THE OPTIONS OF THIS GAME AND THE GAME PLAY OF HIGH HEAT,YOU WOULD HAVE A GREAT GAME.WAIT TO SEE WHAT MLB IS LIKE THIS YEAR BEFORE YOU BY A BASEBALL GAME.

Other Baseball games must be better.

If you are thinking about buying this game, I recommend that you rent it first. I rented this game, played it for about 5 hours, and returned it 3 days before it was due back at the store. I would not buy this game ... The design and gameplay is very unintuitive and just plain boring. I would tell the developers of this game to go back to the drawing board.

In short, do not buy this game!

All-Star baseball 2001 & 2002 - best baseball games I have ever played. All-Star baseball 2003 - worst. It's simply too hard to hit, even at the easiest setting. Simply makes the game not fun. All you need to know.

This game is very realistic. It has broken bats, and evrything you will ever need from a baseball video game. If you can't play on defense very well, they have assists you can use so stop crying over things like that. Hitting is challenging if you use the triangle thing, but again if you can't handle it there is easy hitting. The more I play it the more I notice the detail and closness this game comes to the real thing. If you don't like this game I suggest to you that you stay away from sports games because your dumb. In other words, this game's stats, as far as sports games go, is up with madden football 2002. So what are you doing? Go get it. (Giants are awsome)
