All Star 2003 is mos def the best baseball game I've played. It tops my old all time favorite World Series 95 for Sega. The expansion mode makes the whole game. You start off with a pretty bad team. You can finish almost .500 depending on who and how you draft your team. The only thing [] it is you play the same schedule year after year in expansion mode. Its not like Madden 2002 or NCAA 2002 where you play different schedules every year. But with 162 games a year, it doesn't get too old. The thing thats tight is that every year you get new players into your farm system and you get to watch them develop. Some players develop and others don't. As far as the gameplay, its pretty much the same from 2002, slow reaction from the outfielders and very unlikely to throw a runner out at a base. But the expansion and franchise make the game awesome.

ok...

This game is great. There hasn't been a good baseball game since "Baseball Stars". This is the best game since then, Expansion and Franchise modes are so much fun. GO GET THIS GAME if you like baseball.

The most complete baseball game ever

Two words...Franshise mode...finally somebody got it right thank you Akklaim Sports. The player detail is absolutely beautiful. The replays after each play make it almost feel like you are sitting in the stands or from the TV camera replay looks like you are watching an actual game. Expansion mode is also very fun with some very creative expansion nicknames and logos added by the software people along with some citys that should have teams such as Hawaii, Norfolk, VA, Puerto Rico, Oklahoma, Vancouver B.C. As far as the gameplay there is only one flaw that I have seen and that is sometimes when you are fielding the ball your player chasing the ball might make a catch that looks like the ball would land at least 5 feet away from where he was standing. But other times you will watch balls bounce off of players gloves and watch squibbers get under the diving infielders. Overall this is the best baseball game ever made for ANY system. The realistic feel and no 17-15 games make it that much more realistic. I have played four games with scores of 8-5, 8-3, 2-1, and 3-2. I cant get myself away from this game because every time I turn off the playstation 2 i just yearn to turn it on and play even more. Triple Play is dead...come on EA Sports add fantasy mode and i might give you a chance again but right now All Star baseball 2003 from Akklaim is the king of baseball video games. BUY THIS GAME NOW !!!!

Without a Doubt, the best.

This game is without a doubt the sinble best baseball simulation I have ever played, and I have played a lot of baseball games. Notice, I said simulation, that is becuase this game provides you with the closest thing you can get to the real thing. Players move like a real human would, they are not lighting fast as soon as you press in a direction, but rather are fluid and show more "reacting" cababilities. The pitcher/batter interface is amazing, it really looks like your watching a ballgame on tv. The graphics, well, they are second to none, smooth, fluid and true to real life. Franchise mode is great, you can manage minor league prospects, create players, stadiums and jerseys. The franchise mode is not as good as Madden's is, but Madden's style is going to be pretty hard to beat for a long time. But seriously, if you are looking for a baseball simulation rather than a baseball game, look no further.

ASB 2003, Best Baseball Game Ever!

ASB 2003 is the best baseball game ever made. The graphics are much better than last year, and now there is an expansion mode and 3 man commentary. Plus all updated rosters, and Home Run Derby. This is a must buy for any baseball fan. It blows away High Heat 2003!

A great baseball game!!!

All-Star Baseball 2003 is one of the best baseball games I have
ever played. It has over 50 stadiums, all 30 teams, and an expanison mode to make your own team. Some of the catches are
messed up, but even so, it's a great game.
ASB has Home-Run Derby, Season play, Exhibition, and more. Plus, the faces look very real!
Take my advice and rent it first if you're not sure if you want
to buy it.

OK but could be better

I rented this game one time just to check it out to see how it compared to other baseball games. I was very disapointed. The graphics were awesomes. I could tell the difference between A-rod and Ichiro. The game really messed up with the gameplay. It is almost impossible to hit the ball. Fielding isn't any better. It's really hard to get your guy under the ball. Another flaw was that the controls were really complicated and almost every time I pitched and the guy hit it, the fielder would always throw it home. One other problem I noticed was that the fielder after getting the ball usually waits about 3 seconds to throw after you tell him were to throw it. I recommend Triple Play for someone who wants more of an arcade type game but if you want a simulation game them this games for you.

Good

Allstar Baseball 2003 is a good game for people who enjoy pitching and fielding. This game does a good job in both these departments. I struck out over ten guys (granted it was just Tampa Bay but who cares) in one game, something I can't do with the other games. Fielding is also easy to do. Unfortunately, it is not easy to hit the ball. Hitting in this game is either a ground out or a home run. Those who like to hit the ball deep may want to avoid this game. Also, why does this game bother with a home run derby segment? You're lucky you get one out.
