I played over a few hundreds rpgs in my life and i can tell you this one is a masterpiece.
A new kind of story with mysteries and new made RobotGear units to crush your enemies.
In a mission to save the planet and destroy god.Took me 51 Hours to pass the game.When your at the seconde disc you will notice a big change.Its because squaresoft stopped the funds so the game got a little worst at the end buts its still excellent i love that game.
Brilliant!!!

If you like RPG's at all, buy this! The battle system is the best I've ever seen! It has a great plot, but the battle system is the best. It may not sound good in a description, but here goes: you have a certain amount of AP (3 to start). you can use a light, 1-point attack, a med. 2-point, or a heavy three-point. Each turn, the attack points should add up to at most your AP number, so you can use three 1-points, a 1 and a 2-point, or one 3-point. Certain combinations will trigger a deathblow, once you learn them. There's more: unused AP add up in a meter. you can use the points in this meter to execute multiple deathblows in one turn. If you have 8 points, you can use two 4-point deathblows. You can also use gears, which are giant mecha.

I feel that Xenogears gives a weird version of religion, But, You should realize that its fantasy, plain and simple therefore you should play this as a fantasy game. not looking for Religion! and if you DO find the "Weird" religious ideas in this game offensive, then I say DEFINITELY don't play this. I personally find the game enjoyable, however the story is NOT the "BEST" as most state! its a decent Anime driven story. the GAMEPLAY is what is Amazing here! and the Mech fights are fun! there is ALOT to do with this game for RPG junkies!
therefore until Xenosaga comes out , I'll be finishing up Xenogears!

From the moment you start playing this game you are confused. Their are so many twists and terns in this game that a Sayijn couldent keep up with it. The Battle system is one of the most unique i've ever seen. The ballence between mech and non mech combat is extravigent. If you like RPG's this is a must play! But if that Hasent sold you You can jump on the dungeon maps!
It's true, this game R-O-C-K-S.

This game is incredible. The storyline is one of the best I'eve EVER seen. A good storyline makes for a great game. The gear battle graphics are excellent, although the map graphics and character battles are not very good. But it's the complex and intriguing characters trapped in an incredible saga that makes this game so great. Fei is a young man with no recollection of his past. Help him find his true identity and discover who this mysterious "Id" is. Battle with the young Etonr, Billy, as he seeks revenge for his mother's death at the hands of the Wels as he tries to take care of his darling little sister, Primera. Stop the dark forces from taking over this stunning world and Battle in enormous robotic machines called "Gears". This game is a must-have for any RPGamer.

This game is soo good that i have played through the whole thing about 95 times. It has the GREATEST story, the GREATEST music, the GREATEST characters, the GREATEST everything. Get this game if you don't have it! Don't stop playing after the cave you go through with bart...everyone always does.... GREAT GAME! BEST EVER IN HISTORY OF THE WORLD!
