this rpg makes your mouthwant to drop to the ground its a very hard game i had trouble with lots of parts lots of cool guys and girls on here fei was one of the best and chu-chu sometime i would sy im really sick and come home just to play this game (laughs) thats how much i iiked it it always kept me busy no stupid or dull parts the music was good too this and phantasy star 4 is a must have i hope they make another xenogears this game would be one of the best of the best wonderfull anime squaresoft has alaways been a good company with the breath of fires i just hope one day sega will say the playstation 2 can make a phantasy star online for it

Its amazing, I thought I was just about the only one who thought Xenogears was god-like and here I am writing the 78th review. Wow! Even though I beat Xenogears a long time ago I will right this review. Though this game is absolutely gorgeous in every aspect there is one little tidbit that stands out. Jumping. Yes, interestingly enough you can make your characters jump in this game. Sometimes you have to jump from cliff to cliff. And you might just fall to right where you started from. Here is where it gets frustrating. You have to go up numerous amounts of levels to jump just a centimeter further. Beyond that it is the peak of Squaresoft and the most amazing thing out there. Don't worry about the age, it is bliss!

I love Xenogears!

The best game in the whole world. I like the story line a lot and it is really awesome. I like it much better than 8 and it is equally the same with 7. I like the large cariety of characters. and the Anime scenes are the best. It is a game that you'll want to play again and again. The battling is really good.

I know some people hate this game but it's a small fraction of the masses. Also most of those people are usually people who are two .......... stupid to beable to follow the story line and get confused. Shame on them! Their all fools. The point is Xenogears is most definatley the best game ever created. Hey it's by Squaresoft, what do you expect. So go out and by it! Trust me! You'll be very happy(if you have the brain to not get frustrated with the game)and won't ever regret the purchase! "Stand Tall and Shake the Heavens" :)

I thought Xenogears was an awesome game and would recomend this game to anyone. Though the game was difficult in some areas and if you save at the wrong time over the wrong file you can really mess yourself up. The graphics are really good. The storyline was really neat. The characters were understandibly human, yet there was something odd about the relationship between Elly and Fei from the beginning. In this game it was hard to tell, in some places, what was going to happen next I have beaten the game and I still like it. This game prepared me for other RPGs and I hope others feel the same. The anime sequences where a little bumpy at times and the voices sounded kinda goofy, they really didn't quite fit all of the charecters. I hope this is of some help to people wanting to buy a good RPG.

Well first of all I just want to say I am a die hard RPGer so keep that in mind while reading my review.

Xenogears proved to be one of the best RPG's I have ever played in my life.The story,characters,graphics and music all had me wrapped up until the very end.In fact when I beat the game I was upset that it was over.I just didn't want it to end I liked it so much.

Now to business.The story to Xenogears is one of the best I have have ever played in an RPG. You start out as Fei Fong Wong in the village of Lahan.Fei has no recollection of his past of even why he is in Lahan,he just knows that he was left on the doorstep of the village elder 3 years ago.The story starts with Fei going to visit Dr. Citan Uzuki the day before his old friends Timothy and Alice get married.Fei visits Citan and on the way back to Lahan they see several Gears flying towards Lahan to attack and this is where the story begins.Fei jumps into an empty Gear and attacks the other Gears and ends up destroying his town and is exiled. The only downfall is after that the story stays pretty dry for about 20 hours.

Xenogears is a game that you have to be willing to spend time to play for it took me 65 or so hours to complete when I played it. Plus it has lots of reading in it,but the story is so captivating,by far the best story I have ever seen in an RPG.

The gameplay is a lot different then that of most RPG's, but I found it unique and liked it a lot.Instead of your typical RPG fights where you can fight,use magic or use an item you got to use different button combinations that allowed you to use deathblow skills in battle.You also had a certain number of points you could use each round to attack with and if you saved them up you could use several deathblows in a combination attack.

The music in the game is wonderful but i'm the first person to admit that it becomes VERY repetitive after a while.But towards the end of the game you get some new music which is a nice addition to the by then boring tracks.

While the first disc of Xenogears is completely amazing and mind-blowing,the same cannot be said for disc two.You spend more time reading then playing which can get annoying,but the good thing is disc two isn't that long and just when you think you've had enough reading they let you play some more.

The only other bad thing that I cant hink of is that there are too many Gear fights in my opinion at least.Gear fights are fun and actually better then normal one on one fighting,but I felt they overdid the Gear fights.

In conclusion Xenogears is a completely amazing RPG that takes a while to get into.The story is osmething you should stick with because if you do you won't forget it.In fact it's so complex you might even have to play the game more then once to completely understand what is going on in the game.The story is enough to give this game 5 stars despite it's other mild shortcomings

This is my favorite game. It is a nice game where the main character, fei, lives in a world where people use giant robots in battle refered to as gears. Desaster strikes in his home of Lahan when a gear battle starts. Even worse, he gets into a gear, and an explosion kills one of his best friends, Alice. Her brother has a huge grudge over Fei for killing her sister. Now Fei must leave on an adventure to keep the top secret gear out of enemies hands, and help out many allies on his quest to "feel needed".

I really like role playing games. because they have the combination of action and storyline. It was a lot of fun. the only downside is you need a strategy guide. This game was complex and interesting.

Over the years I have played many different generes of video games and I feel that Xenogears is the best of them all. First I have to start out by explaining the story. It does get confusing at times but it is so intresting with every plot twist and turn. This is really where the game shines. It has every element of life in it; the questioning of religeon, drug abuse, sex, and all of the regular problems that we face. The fantsy element in the game also is break through in RPG's. Theres battles with gods, the ability to use gears, floating cities, and many other things you expect in a great fantasy and then some. Now it is like every other epic RPG where you have to save the world (if you think I just ruined the story just wait and see) but the game does this in such an innovative way I didn't think of it as just another Final Fantasy clone. Very far from it indeed. Now to another very well done aspect of this game the battle engine. I love to battle in and out of my gear. Developing new combinations of moves while I'm grounded or leveling up in my gear to dish out a very distructive attack is what kept me going. I didn't find my self using magic too often in the first disc I used heal spells but that was really it. The best attacks are the combo. moves. It has other options that will help more towards the end of the game. At times you may find the graphics geting a bit messy and the characters kind of blocky but I feel that it is merely a minor annoyance. But much like FF VII the free roaming is where all the graphics problems take place. On the battle field the 2-D characters look amazing, they are very detailed and have a fluid motion, and the 3-D gears look great and are very solid, there was almost no cliping for every movement the gear made. And the anime cut scenes to bring the story along are as smooth and detalied as any quality animation. The dubing could have been refined a little but still gets the story across. With all that said and done, I give you one final warning, be ready to read, A LOT!
