One of the best Playstation games ever.

I am new to the Playstation world, having had bought my playstation about six months ago. I popped in the little demo cd it came with to try some of the games and Metal Gear Solid was one of the demos...I quickly came addicted to this game and ran to the store the same day to buy it. I love this game, the graphics are wonderful, the missions are great and the replay value is worth it too. This game just makes you want to keep on playing. True the game was a little short but I have replayed the game four times already and still can't get enough. My only concern is this game is way too graphic for kids... All in all I give this game a 10+ and I can't wait for more games to come out like it....syphon filter just isn't as good as MGS.

This game is one of the best games for the PlayStation. Everyone should give this game a try. Great graphics and sound makes you feel like you are Solid Snake. Now that MGS is a Greatest Hits title you can buy it for a good price and there is no reason not to own this game. Well, unless you played it and don't like it.

A great espionage game with a story

The minute I started playing this game I loved it. I loved the way it was setup. Unlike most games, the way you move around & shoot people, this game you have to sneak around and try not to get detected by the enemies. Your mission is to try to stop a nuclear warhead from being sent. You will use a combination of weapons ranging from the socom pistol to Stinger missles you can control. It has a great story line. You can connect to a number of people along the way to help you through codec. Once you start playing you can't stop. Overall I give it a five.

This game is the absolute tops! The character you play as is Solid Snake. This game is not a Duke Nukem "shoot'em up". You start out with no weapons and have to use stealth and get around undetected...you acquire weapons as the game progresses. The graphics are phenomenal and the control is, pardon the obvious play on words, solid. The best part is the voice over acting! Unlike the rancid voices in Resident Evil, these voices are well done. Try RE and see if I am lying... MGS is a long game, but is highly addicting. The fights are great - especially Psycho Mantis and fighting Meatal Gear Rex itself. Of all the Playstation games, this one everyone must own! Try it; you'll like it.

this game requiers a lot of skill and strategy and a good way in physical fighting and guns, for this game you need a lot of thinking and time, this game takes at least 10 hours of your time.

This game is incredible. The plot is ineresting and will instantly get you hooked to the game, and the action is just out of this world. Metal Gear Solid also has the best voice acting and music I have ever heard. GET THIS GAME! If you don't have a Playstation, buy one, and then GET THE GAME!! Buy it now!

This game is probably one of the top 3 games ever. I personally rank it #1 and GoldenEye as #3. The reason this game is so awsome is because of it's movie like qualities. For a maximum impact, you should play this game in long stretches with as few distractions as possible. This will litterely put you inside the movie. The plot is just awsome, and it gets better as it goes along. It took my about a year to beat the game, and a total of about 50 hours of gameplay. I did stop playing it for about 6 months win I got stuck on a level, then stopped for another month when I got stuck on the last couple of levels. I still think they should make a movie series of this game. Overall, I think I would pay about ... if I needed to to get this game.

in my opinion, this is thee best video game EVER. a game that encourages you NOT to shoot but instead to sneak around. very chilling, exciting, fun and entertaining. you play solid snake, a combo of bond and snake pliskin character type. you enter the enemy compound to do many tasks(i would rather not spoil the fun by telling anything to ruin your fun). let me say, if you do not own this and you like games and you like spy games or games of this nature then YOU NEED THIS and will not be disappointed. it is a great storyline and an awesome game which make for good and intersting fun all around

MGS is one of the best games made for the playstation system, there are not many people who would disagree with that. Not only does the game of an enthralling plotline, great characters, and wonderful weapons, but the controls are easy and fun to use.

The game is smooth to play, making it easy to switch from item to item, without breaking a sweat. The story that goes along with this game, has enough twists and turns to go with a hollywood movie. Just when you think you know what is going on, something else happens and throws the story in a totally different direction. That is what makes the game so good, the graphics could be worse than they are, and this game would still be amazing.

The bosses are challening, and the weapons are helpful to your quest. Whether it is your motion sensing mines, or your c-4, which you can plant almost anywhere (if you are really careful, you can even plant it on the back of guards, and detonate!), there are also many automatic, and semi-automatic to make the game more fun. You can blow away a bad guy with a missle launcher, or you can quietly sneak up and use your sniper rifle to take them out. Anyway you fight, this game is definately a fun and exciting adventure, a definate must!

That is what comic book guy would be saying about Metal Gear Solid if he played it.

Solid Snake an operative of the governments secert unit FOXHOUND is called out of retimerment to deal with a new threat. Terrioist have sized Shaddow Mosses Island, site of a nuclear weapons disposal site. Worse still the terrioits are members of FOXHOUND, Snake's former unit. This team of elite and deadly soldiers now threatens the world with a nuclear strike.

And it is up to Snake to stop them. Who must deal with sentries, tanks, helicopters and the fact his own CO might be lying with him.

This is the first game that engrossed me. The first time I played this type of game and loved it. The story was rich and worthy of a movie. The gameplay is the right blend of action and stealth. BUY THIS GAME AND PLAY IT ON EXTREME FOR THE ULITAME CHALLENGE!
