I enjoyed this game and it lasted me a long time which is good i like games like that. But as much as I like it as soon as I got to the last IA license test i couldn't do it. There wasnt much else for me to do on the game after that. I finished almost all the ametur and beginer modes and since i didnt have the IA license I was pretty much stuck so I stoped playing it. I hope the next GT game is a little less dificult so it wont piss me off when i get to the licenses or the difficult parts of the game. Overall I loved this game i had a blast playing it. For my hall of Ps2 fame games this is deffinatly up there.

Exceptional, even nowadays

This game has been around a while, but I just started playing it recently. Despite GT4 being just around the corner, GT3 still ranks as one of the greatest games of all time. The gameplay, options, depth, graphics and sound are all superb. The only things missing are a greater selection of tracks (especially real-world circuits), realistic damage (even if they can't represent it visually they could at least factor it in after a race, requiring you to repair things), better AI in the other cars, and a larger numbers of cars in each race.

The most realistic car game ever!

This game is good for hours of fun. You can pretty much adjust every part in the car. The is more than 100 cars to choose from. This game is truely awesome.

All Around Awesome Game

This game is, like it says in my title, is an all around awesome game for good reasons.

This game has incredible graphics, creating a real life driving experience that will have you playing for hours on hand. Also, because the cars have beautiful graphics, you can admire your collection of cars as if you actually owned them in real life.

There are are over 25 car brands available in this game, some that you can buy and some that you have to win races to obtain. There are prototypes for some cars as well as street and racing versions for the top race cars. Race on over 100 tracks and rally courses, take your pick.

In simulation mode you have to beat every race to unlock the ultimate car. Or test your skills at getting a proffesional racing liscense. Don't think this is easy. It took me a few weeks to beat the S liscense challenge and I only got the bronze. In arcade mode, you can use the cars you obtained in simulation mode to beat a number of courses, or just race your friends.

That was the good, this is the bad. The GT Force wheel that is available for Gran Turismo 3 may be comfy, have pedals, and make you feel like a good driver. The truth is, the control is unacceptable. The car turns its full amount before you turn the wheel even one 4th of it's feasable amount. To buy this wheel you should work on your hand-eye coordination as to calculate how much you'd have to turn the wheel to get your desired amount of turning.

This game also lacks some high quality brands like Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborgini. This is very frustrating considering all the fun you could have had with them. To componsate for this, there are other brands that are like Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborgini, but it's not the same feeling.

Some races in this game will take very long, for example races that take 7 hours plus. This means that you may become bored of seeing the same old track over and over. With the races in a series, you have to literally stop at the end of a race, save and wait until the next day. Luckily you can save between races so you don't have to worry about running out of time. There is a down side to this, however. Because you saved between the race, you have to go to the next race and if you don't you will have to start that series over again.

All in all, I highly suggest you consider this, although I think the smarter idea would be to wait until March 18, 2004 when Gran Turismo 4 supposively comes out.

GREATEST DRIVING SIMULATION GAME EVER!

Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec is the greatest driving simulation game on the market today and will only be outdone by Gran Turismo 4: Prologue, which is due out April 2004. I'm absolutely addicted to this game and have beaten it 100% twice. This game was also the main reason I became interested in cars / race cars.

The best racing game to date

Gran Turismo 3 is the best racing game I have ever played, it'll stay that way until I play Gran Turismo 4. There is not a single other game out there where you're given the ability to buy a car and supe it up to the max. I have a Skyline GTR V-Spec II, its got 1074 HP. I spent alot of money on it, it took me half a year to get the collection of cars I have now, but longer than that to go through the phases before hand, getting less expesive cars. Hence, this game consumes time and lots of it. I've spent more time on this game than an RPG, which is incredible becuase I'm an RPG gamer. Corvette fans will be very happy to know there are 3 corvettes in this game and 6 or 7 camaros. Mustang fans though, which I am, will be displeased to know that there is but one *sniffle* mustang, yet its good. The Mustang SVT Cobra R (beautifulness). Anyway, there are around 12 tracks in this game, which doesn't seem like alot, but is, seeing as how they're all unique. Some people think that in this game, the turning sucks, yet it doesn't, its a sim and that's how real cars handle on turns when they're going a good 170 MPH, don't like that part or the fact that there's no damage system? Get Burnout 2, a game that focuses on blowing crap up, which is fun, but you can't supe up cars :(. Anyway, get this game if:
A) You're a Car Junkie
B) You love racing games
C) You've tried every other racing title.
D) I will personnally come to your house and shoot you with my machine gun that doesn't exist.

Perfect simulation

This is a great game for any gamer. The controls are a little hard to manage at first, but once you get used to them the experience is great. The graphics and sound effects are unbelievably cool. Along with the wide variety of tracks, cars, and upgrades. I have yet to try it with a steering wheel but I'm dying to try. Must have game!!!

A little late, but I still want to review it!

THE STANDARD of racing game so far. The classic that offers you real mode racing, and drifting. Most everything about this game is cool. I just bought it, even though I have played it long time ago. I just never owned my own copy until now.... paid $8 for it. ... sweet. Buy it, because this is one for keeps.

cool cool...............

This is a preety good game basedon graphics and gameplay but the downside is there is only about 130 cars or so to some people this might seem like alot but to hardcore racing fans i say wait till granturismo 4 comes out there is supposed tobe around 500 cars 100 tracks and picture enhanced backgrounds which means extremely good graphics.
so if your a casual racecar game player this is a good choice

hint if you do buy this game and if u have enough money buy the pagani zonda and upgrade it all the way IT SUPER SUPER FAST YOULL LOVE IT!

this game offers sooo much. it's probably the most valued game to ever be released. the graphics are timless, the gameplay is very exciting and fun, and the style of the game is cool and done very well. there are endless upgrades and cars in this game. the tracks never get old and the races themselves can go on for hours, which is a very tiering bit of realism that is fondly accepted. good game
