Overall, a great game

Ah, Zelda. How I remember laboring over the various dungeons and overworlds of all of the first three games, and feeling a great sense of adventure and prowess as I spent hours on my Nintendo. After beating any of these games, a great feeling of pride and resolution comes over you, The Ocarina of Time, however, left me with no such feelings. Playing the game was a blast, but after it was over, all that was in my mind was all the flaws and room for improvement. First of all, WAY too easy. Zelda has always been a challenge, and this was certainly not. Items are easy to find, and I don't even bother with killing enemies...they don't do anything. The N64 is clearly geared toward younger players (with the exception of Turok 2 and a few others), and even the beloved Zelda series has fallen to its childishness in it's cartooniness and simplicity. The ending was the most unsatisfying I had ever seen in any game. Not to ruin any of it for you, but Ganon is even easier than Bowser in Mario64 and after all you did for Hyrule, Zelda simply tells you to forget the whole thing, go home, and return the Ocarina of Time. Also, sorry kids, no triforce. Nope...don't even get to SEE it, let alone obtain it. The triforce has been the crucial part of any Zelda game to date, and since us in America will never see the 64DD which expands the game, we do not get a complete version and we will never see many of the other aspects and adventures in the game. All in all, this game is great, outstanding, and will be treasured forever, but if you are looking for the next "Zelda: A Link to the Past" (in my opinion, the best Zelda game created), this is not it. It lacks the polish and admiration that other Zelda games have brought to my life. The game was rushed to get it out before Christmas, and it really does show, albeit after you beat it (while playing, you are oblivious to the flaws). While it is a bit disappointing that this, so full of flaws, is most likely the LAST Zelda game we will see, no collection is complete without it, and it is very worth your while to play it. Just expect some disappointment from your local Zelda freaks, I being one of them. Thank you, and good luck.

I must say that this is one of the most adictive games of all time. I agree that as far as the series goes it was a little easy but the game has a wonderful engine and great characters. In addtion, anyone who has ever complained about story lines will not be disappointed by this one. I still say that a a link to the past is still the best but not by far. Link to the past was an enormous game for the time and even in 1999 but as the technology was new you counldn't do much. This game has scarificed number of things for things to do better. Like riding Epona. A+ NINTENDO!

The most incredible game i've played in my life.

Reserving this game 4 months before it came out was probably the best thing that i had done. When i receieved the call that night, the 24th of november, i rushed to my software etc., where i had prepurchased it. It was an awe inducing moment when i had held the gold foil stamped box within my hands. Tearing the cartridge out of the plastic and inserting the cartridge, and starting up my surround sound stereo system had commenced my journey into the unknown, of which has been concieved by the most incredible programmers of all time. Now, i will wait for the next installment of this game, and many more games that shall arrive to the best console in the world. For no other system can ever hold a game as incredible as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Now this is a game that everyone should own. I've had this game for one year and I still haven't beaten it because there is so much to do. The games you can play in the shops like bomchu bowling is just a fantastic addition to the game. Not many games have this, come to think of it none of them do. The graphics along with the gameplay make it an excelllent addition to my nintendo library. I am a loyal puppy to Nintendo, and I definately know what I'm talking about. I have all their consols and most of the games, and it shows that Nintendo have kept their stantards up their. Congrats to Nintendo and to those who own a 64 or any other nintendo product. Keep on truckin' Nintendo!

Great Fun For All

If anyone says this is a game just for the kids they are mistaken. First of all when you are a child the characters may seem childish. But once you are an adult in the game Malon (the LonLon Ranch girl)and Princess Zelda look great, but thats my opinion. Also even if the enemies are easier than expected the puzzles are a challenge for anyone. And the ending scene, which i won't give away, make you unable to wait for the next Zelda in the series. Don't believe me? Buy it and find out for yourself
