The greatest game in the history of Video Games

I just finished beating it again and I must say that it was even better then the first time. The graphic are off tha hook, game play is supurb, and the story line is tight. If you haven't bought this game you DO NOT know what you are missing. I would buy a Nintendo 64 all over again just so I can have this game (And of course Goldeneye). You can't find a better game then this. I doubt that Nintendo can ever put a game out that could compete with this one.

Nintendo has done it again!

Zelda64 is one of the best games nintendo has ever made. If you want good music, awesome graphics, and totally cool weapons, this game is for you. Zelda 64 is a must-buy, and if you don't at least rent it, you're missing out on a lot.

Great Game

This game is awsome, I could not stop playing it until I beat it. Anyone would like this game and I suggest that they get it. Its more fun than a barrel of monkeys the game play is good and the puzzels are challenging enough to keep you engrossed for hours. the only down side is that the world in which you play is to small but then if it were much bigger it would need a bigger system.

Worth the N64 purchase price by itself...

In this, one of two installments in the Zelda series for the Nintendo 64, you once again take on the persona of young Link (or whatever you choose to name him), as he embarks on a quest to save the land of Hyrule from the dark forces of Ganon. One of the great conflicts in Nintendo history, second only to that of Mario and Bowser. You start the quest as a boy and end up as a man. Along the way, you will fight many monsters, explore dungeons and temples, rescue a horse (great for traveling through the world of Hyrule quickly), engage in numerous side quests and mini-games, learn many different tunes for your Ocarina, pick up a number of weapons and other helpful items, meet some gorgeous fairies, and in short, have a wonderful gaming experience.

As with the other Zelda games, this one is filled with different puzzles of various types, most of which you MUST complete in order to advance in the game. They are engaging, but not too difficult to figure out, for the most part. There are a few, though, that I had a tough time with. Not to fear, though, there is plenty of help out there, both in books and on the internet, to aid you through those difficult spots. The controls are wonderfully intuitive. Navigating through Hyrule is much like controlling Mario in Super Mario 64 (and the game does, at times, suffer from awkward camera angles like Mario did), and there are good tutorials in the game itself that teach you the ins and outs of fighting monsters and defending yourself.

The Z-targeting system is excellent, once you get used to it. You don't really need it for some of the early monsters, but by the time you become an adult, it will be essential. In addition, you have a little fairy buddy, Navi, who continually travels with you and is always willing to give you helpful advice on what to do next after you complete a given task. Navi will also help you with advice on the weak spots of the many different monsters you will encounter throughout the game.

As I mentioned before, there are a number of side quests throughout the game. They're not essential to finish the game, but they are a lot of fun, and some of them will get you prizes that will make the later stages of the game a little easier. One word of advice - when you reach Lake Hylia, be sure and talk to the two scarecrows! Later in the game, you will be glad you did. Also, be wary of purchasing too many items in the various shops and bazaars. They have many useful items, but they are also VERY expensive, and almost everything in there can be found for free in various nooks and crannies in the game. Also, be wary of Gorons who want to sell you a Giant Sword. Don't say I didn't warn you...

Although you do not NEED a Rumble Pak to play the game, your gaming experience will be enhanced if you get one. The Pak will be set off whenever Link gets near a secret area, which are sprinkled liberally throughout Hyrule. These secret areas contain goodies that you really don't want to miss out on.

All in all, an excellent game which showcases the abilities of the N64 to great effect. Games like this are why I will always remain a Nintendo fan. But, don't take my word for it - pick it up! You'll be glad you did.

Breathtaking...

Wonderful epic stroyline, great gameplay, superb graphics for it's time, though it is available on Gamecube with sharper graphics. So good, yet somehow I liked the follow up; Majora's Mask even more. Buy both today!

The best... And for good reason

This... Is... The... Coolest Game in the whole world!!! I can't believe how cool the game is. It is STILL easily the BEST Zelda game, even after 6 years! (Sorry, Link to The Past) The gameplay is AWESOME. The Z-Targeting system is just... Words cannot desribe how clever that is. The game seems simple enough, but it will blow you away! It's even better on GameCube. The Master Quest is SOOOOOOO cool! The dungeons are quite creative. Going inside a thousand-year-old guardian spirit tree, and even a living whale! (Which is the most detailed dungeaon of all, I might add, complete with stomach rumbles and belches!) Enough yammering about whales' inards, though. Like I said, it's amazing. Pick up an N64 copy; It's really cheap, and more than worth it's price tag. Or, try to find the Master Quest disc on GameCube. It has the original, PLUS the remixed Master Quest. And THAT is a true challenge! OR, you can subscribe to Nintendo Power and you can get the Legend of Zelda: Collectors Edition disc, which has Legend of Zelda from the NES, Zelda II: Adventure of Link, Ocarina of Time, (But no Master Quest!) Majora's Mask, a twenty-minute Wind Waker demo, a Wind Waker preview movie, and a retrospective look at the series. But, if you don't like LoZ, or part RPG, part real-time combat, part exploration games, don't play it!

Zelda is a MUST-HAVE for everybody of all ages!

If you are not sure on whether or not to but Zelda, I would strongly urge you to buy it. It's a very mind-stimulating game where strategy and skill is required, but it is so fun to play. You start out as a young forest boy named Link in a land called Hyrule. An evil man from the desert named Ganondorf has made Hyrule into an evil, desolate place. The three goddesses who created Hyrule left behind a magic triangle called the Triforce. If a person with a pure, kind heart makes a wish, Hyrule will be peaceful, but if an evil person like Ganondorf makes a wish, Hyrule will become evil. The Great Deku Tree (The guardian of the Kokiri Forest) tells you to save Hyrule. And Navi, your fairy helps you. There are many fun parts to the game, and it's very addictive. You become an adult less than halfway through the game because your soul is locked up in the Temple of Time. Then you beat the temples, and fight Ganondorf. It is an EXCELLENT GAME! Don't judge it until you try it! I learned that way!

Truly a great game

I think that Zelda is a good game with excellent graphics, challenge, and is puzzling. This is one of the best games I have ever played. It makes great use of all of the buttons on the N64 controller. If you do not have this game yet, and you have a 64, I strongly suggest you buy it. The only problem I have is how it constantly explains everything. It must have explained how to use the C buttons 50 times, and I already read the manual. I just think that's annoying, and it takes off a whole star on my rating. But this shouldn't stop you from getting it if you're interested.

Very challenging very awesome

This game is exetremly challenging at times, but it is the greatest game out there right now. This game sucks you in with its great gameplay and graphics. Many elements of this game are so great that you just can't set your controller down. And before you sterotype me as a fat middle-aged man with nothing better to do, I am a 13 year old girl and I am very athletic and social. This game can get challenging and if you need it I highly recommend Prima's Official Guide it tells all the secrets and has walk-throughs, it is also very helpful in the pesky Water Temple.

If you haven't already GET THIS GAME

I bought this game cause all my friends told me to get it. I was wary cause I never did like the Zelda games until now. This is by far the best game I have ever played it even manages to beat Goldeneye 007 in my own personal scale. If you own a Nintendo 64 why in the world do you not already own this game?
