One Of The Greatest Games Ever...

It's gonna be a great Christmas this year! Banjo-Tooie is without doubt one of the greatest games I've ever played! It's one of those all-too-rare (no pun intended) games that constantly puts a smile on your face and a glow in your heart, and reminds you just how fun games can be. The graphics are phenomenal - each landscape is so epic and beautiful to look at that you could live there! The size of the levels is surely on the very limit of the machine's capability and the levels themselves are supremely designed. The gameplay is a perfectly balanced blend of action and puzzles which are interspersed by some great little fun and wacky mini-games (including some hilarious 1st-person shooting sections like Goldeneye) and awesome bosses (just wait until you see the giant, snake-like welding torch Weldar - surely a candidate for most brilliantly original boss of all time). There is also a varied set of multiplayer games for up to 4 players which stand up as good games in their own right. It's easy to pigeon-hole Banjo-Tooie as another 3D platform game but it is so much more than that. It is more like a fully-fledged adventure game as there are so many genuinely funny and charming characters to talk to and interact with. Add to that some really innovative gameplay touches and the ability to control Banjo and Kazooie independently of each other at certain points in the quest and you have perfect entertainment for the holiday season (and of course for the rest of the year too!). The structure and humour means it's a game for kids and adults alike - just how all the best games should be. Forget PS2 and its disappointing collection of money-grabbing remakes. Banjo-Tooie is a game obviously made by people with a passion for games and therefore it's a game the player will be passionate about while playing - which is a feeling only the greatest games can create. Surely this is Rare's, if not Nintendo's, finest hour.

A must-have game for any N64 owner

I was a huge Banjo Kazooie fan - the dialogue was fun, the action was great, and the bizarre creatures you turned into and puzzles to solve were amazing. I wondered if the Tooie sequel could live up to the original - and it does!

The graphics are great. The characters each have their own personalities, and now each can become quite a range of other shapes and sizes in order to get through the game. It's not just a find-100-of-this game either - there are combinations of things to do, and puzzles to solve, creatures to rescue and mazes to explore

The mini-games are amazingly fun by themselves. My boyfriend got hooked on the kickball game and kept going back for more! There are more egg varieties, more jinjos of various colors, more of everything.

Each world is nicely put together with its own theme, with all sorts of really funny things going on in it. These developers didn't just work on honing the gameplay so it was perfect - they made every aspect, from the way the graphics were drawn to the way the characters talk to you - so funny that I was laughing half the time we played.

A great game for the N64, for all ages. Be sure to grab yourself a copy!

Too good for word's.

Did you like Banjo-kazooie? Well, Banjo-tooie is ten time's better! We'll take My favorite level in this game, (Jolly Roger's lagoon) You can walk around, Town and try to find these little Gold coin's that will let you, But thing's in the shop's around town. Then, you can take a dive in the awesome lagoon, And take a swim down where your'll find a whole new world! U.F.O's plunged in the deep sea, An old city totally under-water, A huge man-eating fish And more!! And, that is just ONE level! And, getting gold coin's to shop, Only goes for that one level. Which should tell, You every cool level has it's own theam! And, you can bet on, Lot's of fun mini-game's, Like a Target-shooter where your in a U.F.O! And, I still havn't found all the "Jiggy's" in the game or anything! The, game is just awesome, Nothing less. And, like Rare always does, You can bet there will be a lot of secret's, To find! Needless to say, It's a really great game.

I can't wait for it!

I don't think anyone can wait. It was a good move by Rare to put secrets in Banjo-Kazooie that Mumbo shows you pictures of, but he doesn't tell you what they are for. That way almost anyone that beat B-K will want B-T to get the secrets! There are new moves, new worlds, new tranformations, characters that are now playable, partly first-person shooter when Banjo holds Kazooie like an assault rifle and shoots eggs, Banko and Kazooie can go their own ways, multi-player mode, probably worked out a bunch of bugs, new types of eggs to shoot, having a reticle so you can aim your eggs...!

oh mumbo jumbo

Banjo - Kazooie had the worlds with all the mini bosses, enemies and the big, fat, witch on your tail. With this game you'll be blown away by how exciting this game is! With a new enemy and all the different transformations (like a van or a little explody box) this game rocks! When it's time, you can separate banjo and kazooie to go different places and do different tasks.

One of the Best Games... Ever

Foremost in the legacy of Mario 64 is the revolution it inspired within the gaming industry, serving as a standard for gaming's graduation into the "third dimension." Predictably, many clones followed in its wake, but none showed the genius of design that made Mario's 64-bit debut such a landmark title... until Banjo-Kazooie came along. At a time when quality N64 titles were scarce and cartridge limitations loomed large, Banjo-Kazooie not only dethroned Mario as the cream of the platforming crop, but completely redefined what N64-owners came to expect from their system of choice.

Amazingly, Rare has managed to recreate this triumph with the release of Banjo-Tooie. In terms of graphics, the sequel retains the high-level of detail that made the original so remarkable (especially for an N64 title), with refinements in texture sharpness and a noticeably expanded viewing distance. If your jaw doesn't drop with awe at the beauty of these worlds, you are truly a jaded gamer; Tooie's graphics inevitably cause one to question the arbitrary premium placed on "polygon-pushing" power (*ahem* PS2), and embrace the fact that in any visual medium, ART DESIGN is of the utmost importance. In this department, the Rare development team is clearly in a league of its own.

The gameplay of Banjo-Tooie also benefits from many refinements. In B-K, the deliberate construction of the worlds and tasks required the player to utilize all of Banjo and Kazooie's abilities, a universally lauded aspect that separated B-K from the rote "item-collecting" routines of its brethren (e.g. Donkey Kong 64). In Banjo-Tooie, Rare ups the ante yet again, offering 30 new moves (in addition to the ones from B-K) and an increased diversity of objectives. The essential goal is to collect items, but as in B-K, the varied tasks and puzzles required to do so are a far cry from the mindless scavenger-hunt of other platformers.

Gamers will also notice the increased thematic diversity found in Banjo-Tooie's levels, all created with Rare's trademark flair for design. Of course, this also relates to an aspect of the game that has received an unfair share of criticism... the so-called "childish" atmosphere. I would not comment on it but for the few, failing in their ability to judge the game on its merits, who claim the perspective of the "average gamer" and decry the lack of "mature" themes. Suffice it to say that this position is deeply hypocritical; both Banjo-Tooie and its predecessor are among the most challenging games on the N64, and their entertainment value is hardly undermined by some arbitrary standard of maturity. Secure in your own masculinity? Good, then you'll have no trouble seeing the game for what it is: one of the most brilliantly crafted video games ever made.

I'm sure that the overwhelmingly positive tenor of the review has evoked the skeptic in you. But while there are certainly flaws to speak of, such as the relatively low frame rate, these blemishes are worth little consideration in the overall excellence of this title. While my Nintendo 64 has gotten very little playing time of late, there's no denying that some of the best games available are found on Nintendo's 64-bit system.

Banjo-Tooie, the latest from Nintendo's ace development house, is a prime example: representing the pinnacle of its genre and the 3D era of adventure games.

Banjo Tooie : Incomparable.,

The Nintendo 64 has had a couple of brilliant masterpieces such as Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, and Perfect Dark -- but as grandiose as those masterful games are, Banjo Tooie is above that league. Gorgeous worlds, funny characters, brilliant graphics, laughable sound and environments, and dazzling gameplay make this a wonder for the system. Banjo Tooie is the sequel to the award winning game BANJO KAZOOIE, also one of the system's greatest games ever. But this sequel is unsurpassable. The lighting effects combined with the dangerously tremendous worlds make this a feat for the Nintendo 64. The frame rate does not even subtract from the enjoyment of the game ; in fact, the frame rate has been the only complaint about this wonderful game -- but maybe that one complaint has been a bit overrated. When playing this game only the strictest game reviewers would notice it, and how could they do so when the game is so enjoyable? The worlds are so detailed and big getting lost will be the biggest problem of this gigantic game. The game is a tremendous improvement over its still ever popular predeccecor, and it is an unbelievable thing to witness. It's so chock full of so many things to do and so many places to go and so many puzzles to complete, that the frame rate will probably go unnoticed. This is not a four star game. This is not a five star game. This game is perfect. This game is a SIX-STAR game.

I have the game Banjo-Kazooie and it is great. I can see that Banjo-Tooie is going to be better. I have seen and heard so much about it. I can assure everyone who buys it will love it. It is a 1-4 player game. With 8 new worlds it is going to be great. I am counting down the days till it comes out. Banjo-Tooie already has a 5 star rating. Banjo-Tooie is gonna be BIG in 2000!

Without a doubt one of N64's best games

Banjo Tooie is very similar to Donkey Kong 64, which is deffinetally not a bad thing, afterall DK 64 is supposed to be similar to Banjo Kazooie. Now, 2 years after Banjo Kazooie, everyones favorite Bear, Bird, and Shaman are back. In the beggining of Banjo Tooie, players are treated to a nice cinema in which Grunty comes back only to kill one of our favorite (more or less) characters whose brother replaces him to help Banjo and Kazooie. After the death, Banjo, Kazooie, and Mumbo Jumbo , go after Grunty to defeat her once and for all. After the Cinema, Banjo starts off right where BK ended with all the moves and the Adventure begins! And what an adventure you will have! Besides the Adventure, there are multiplayer games similar to those in Pokemon Stadium except much more (my favorite one is Tower of Tragedy.). Banjo Tooie also has excellent sound, graphics and Replay. If you loved Donkey Kong 64, Banjo Tooie will and should find a place in your Video game collection. After DK 64 this is the best N64 game. Another great game by Rare. Thanks Rare!

At last a sequel that is as good as the original. Banjo Tootie isnt that di-similar from the first which is a good thing. There are eight new worls to explore and conquer. The missions on the levels can be completed indepentlt as Banjo or Kazooie. The mini games that are available in the game can be played by up to four playes which i think will make the games popularity last a bit longer. Overall this is a great game and i recommend that everyone should have this game as it is so much fun
