Banjo Tooie

This game appeared to be a game for young gamers at first sight, but it turned out to be a great adventure game. The idea is, you have to get little yellow puzzle pieces called jiggies. You obtain these by preforming various tasks. You also must rescue all of the Jinjos to play in a kickball tournament against moles (dont ask) Along the way, Sargent Jamjars will teach you moves such as the Bill Drill, which breaks boulders, and the Breegull Blaster, which lets Banjo use Kazooie as a shotgun that shoots eggs, if you collect notes to prove worthiness or whatever. Cheato pages allow you to cheat, so grab them when you see them. Despite the fact that you must collect at least four kinds of items, this is not a cheap platform game. It is yet another great adventure game by RARE.

Awwwwwwwwwwesome!

This is a GREAT sequel to Banjo-Kazooie. I'd recommend playing BK before moving on to BT.

Rareware did a great job of reducing the tedious chores (e.g. having to collect all notes in a world in one session, restocking feathers and eggs), while dramatically increasing the fun and complexity. They also vastly improved the views, eliminating the occassional problems that would surface in BK (the first person view in swimming is a huge improvement).

There's a lot more to keep track of in BT, especially with movement from world to world. The extensive use of silos and warp pads is a big help to keeping things lively.

All in all, Rareware has done it again!

A fine game

This game is great! It has great graphics, plenty of stuff to do, and it contains some humorous spots. It also has plenty of secrets that have very interesting outcomes. But, it does have some bad areas. There is some very noticeable slowdown, especially in the last 2 worlds. Also, the levels are so big that sometimes it can get very tedious collecting everything. This game is very good, and I would strongly suggest buying it.

hours of entertainment! awesome game!

I have Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, and Banjo Tooie. Each one rises above the previous one, but all three are fun. The best one I would say is Banjo Tooie. It's great because each level has such a large area to explore and discover. It's alot to remember in each one, but thats good because its a challenge. I recommend this to everyone! What ever age you may be, theres something for you in Banjo Tooie. Rent it first, but when you do, you will be hooked and will have to buy it! Have fun!

Could be considered a modern work of art

If you thought the original was entertaining, engrossing, and challenging, with majestic characters and expansive worlds to explore, just multiply that by 20 and you can get an idea of what this sequel is like.(Some individal worlds in Tooie are the equivalent of the entire first game). All the moves from the first game are present(including all new ones),and you will no doubt need everyone one of them to complete the game.Almost all the original character's return for cameos, but they also advance the story, and like the first game, you'll have to get them out of various jams in order to secure those all important jiggies. You'll also have to save the unsung heroes of Banjo Kazooie, the jingos. Now you actually see where they all live(jingo village, where else). There's also cheat pages, notes, and mysterious magical creatures called Glowbos to be found. Rare could have rested on their laurels and thrown out a lazy effort, but they have done something i didn't think was possible by vastly improving on the original, and introducing enough new ideas, characters, and attacks to satisfy fans and most likely convert some new ones. This screams for another sequel. Highly recommended for platform/puzzle fans of all ages.Just one word of caution, the difficulty level is high, and there is endless backtracking to previous worlds once new moves or attacks are learned.Only the extremely patient need apply. A monumental achievement in videogame entertainment, and what could be considered an instant classic.

Banjo, you're looking better than ever.

Banjo-Tooie has to be one of my favorite platform games for the Nintendo 64. Take everything Banjo-Kazooie had: refine the controls, add bigger worlds, more challenging puzzles, boss battles, and a four-player support. That's what this game does for you. Even if you didn't like the first Banjo game, this second installment does so much more for the genre. The quest lasts a very long time, and once that's over with, you've got a [lot] of multi-player options to play with! Of course, these kind of options are so dry you'll probably only play them once. But the gesture is appreciated all the same.... right? The only thing I hold against this game is its silly framerate, but don't let that discourage you. Bottom line: if you like platforms, you must play Banjo-Tooie.

A truly fun game.

This is a truly fun game - one of the best I've played. It's lack of blood, guts and gore is very refreshing and the characters are terrific. It's well animated, has a wide variety of worlds and good dialog. The challenges are not as difficult (and hence not as frustrating) as some of the other games on the market which makes it a terrific game for players of all ages.

They Don't Get Much Better Than This!

Are you seeking adventure? Are you into a game with wacky characters? Are you a fan of a wonderful soundtrack? Or, perhaps, you enjoy a good challenge?

If you've answered YES to any of these questions, you've got to buy Banjo-Tooie! This awesome 3D adventure has so much to offer, but you'll only know it if you play it! Even if you've never played the original Banjo-Kazooie (I haven't but I intend to, just to get the whole story), the sequel is still hours upon hours of fun.

The worlds are huge and full of surprises. The characters will crack you up with every sarcastic dialogue or insult. The music is very fitting and sets the mood wherever you go. And the bosses and mini-games you'll face provide a decent challenge no matter what age or skill level you are (except Klungo...he's a push-over if you ask me). I can't remember the last time I played a game that had so much quality entertainment to offer.

So go ahead. (...) pick up a copy of Banjo-Tooie. You'll be doing yourself a favor!

Banjo Tooie was Rareware's sequel to the popular Banjo-Kazooie. Like the original and also Mario 64 before it, Banjo Tooie is about exploring massive worlds, collecting objects, solving puzzles, and fighting bosses. Your goal this time around is to stop Gruntilda, who has returned from the dead in creepy skeletal form and looking to restore her body.

Banjo Tooie does much to simplify, improve, and also expand on the conventions of its genre. Collectible items now come in bunches for easier grabbing, and labeled warp pads help you traverse the massive levels much faster. In a neat twist, all the worlds are now interconnected, so stuff you do in one world can affect the environment of another, and sometimes you need to transport items between worlds to solve a puzzle. Even the cliched environments have been mixed up a bit: instead of fire and ice worlds for example, you now get both environments in one.

There is simply more of everything: more moves to master, more locations to explore, more mini games to play. Players will probably want to play Banjo-Kazooie first to get the hang of things, because Banjo-Tooie pretty much just piles things on top of it. The graphics are still pretty, and the dynamic soundtrack is memorable and catchy. This was Rareware at its top form.

There's only a few unfortunate nitpicks: the framerate can get pretty choppy at times, especially in the lava world where a boss rains volcanic rocks on your head until you defeat him. The biggest disappointment though is the absence of "stop n' swop", rumoured to allow the swapping of secret items between the two games. Rareware has never commented on its removal, and instead dropped similiar items into the game with lame rewards. Finally, as great as Banjo-Tooie is, Banjo-Kazooie feels slightly more inspired and mysterious in its own way. Maybe it's just the general notion that a sequel, however great, can never equal the original?

If you loved Mario 64 and similiar platform games, Banjo Tooie is definitely one to play. It's kiddy exterior hides clever puzzles and dialogue, and both it and Banjo-Kazooie are the pinnacle of N64 fun.

This game is very good!

I think this is one of the best games i have ever played, it is not so hard that you say "AGHHHH THIS IS SO HARD I QUIT!" yet its not so easy that you will beat it in two days ( unless you work really hard, i still think it would be impossible though.) The plot is kinda strange, it will make more sense if you win Banjo-Kazooie first. I like how colorful everything is, but the music can get very irritating on some levels after awhile, the graphics are good. Overall it is a very fun game, some of the boss fights though can get infuriatingly hard but it is not always like that some of them are easy and some of theme are just right. In Banjo-Tooie you nolonger go to Mumbo jumbo too change into other forms but insted go to this wierd native american lady named Humba wumba, but you can now play as mumbo jumbo, and insted of collecting those wierd silver skull things too change into stuff you now have too collect "Globos" which are wierd little pink things that hop around and giggle for no aparent reason. The things you can change into are a wierd little stone Banjo (and no i am not refering too the musical instrument), a wierd box of dynamite or something, a mini van or some sort of vehicle, a sub marine, a dinosaur, a washing machine, a snow ball, a bee, and if you find the "mega globo" you can change Kazooie into a dragon ( i am not making this up i have done it before). Any way if you want something every one will like buy this game.
