Unreal is probably one of the best PC series of all time. First, Unreal was revolutionary in the first person shooter genre, and then came Unreal Tournament, a very sophiticated, but brainless firstperson shooter with incredible graphics. Now, with both of these two combined, comes unreal championship. Championship is more like Unreal Tournament. It is a deathmatch game (and maybe CTF, Last Man Standing, you know the drill) but with many of the existing Unreal Characters as players. It is supposed to have online multiplay, which every first person shooter should have. Microsoft plans on starting their internet services on the time that UC is released. UC is going to be massivly multiplayer, since that is what UT was. Whatever is going to happen with UC, though, it is going to be great! The graphics will be top notch, great sound effects, bamboozilizing gameplay (like always), and, ofcourse, much to look forward to. For now, I'm out, so peace!

UNREAL CHAMPIONSHIP will be the best XBOX LIVE title out of the first wave and will probably be the XBOX Game of the Year. This game is said to blow Halo out of the water. It is confirmed that you can play online with up to 32 players or with a friend in co-op, split screen(1-4 players) or even system link (32 players)! There will be bots you can play against unlike HALO and the game is a whole lot faster and more action packed than Halo.
So, if you like or own Halo, this is a must.
A perfect rent.

This game is NOT an improvement over the previous Unreal titles. Basically, more was taken out of the game than was added in. Many of the best weopons from previous versions have been omitted (e.g. where is the sniper rifle?), and the "feel" of the game is less ominous than previous versions, which really detracts from the overall experience. Logging on to XBOX live and playing with others seemed very cool at first, but Unreal Championship quickly lost its appeal with me. It just didn't have the "oomph!" you get with some of the other XBOX titles (e.g. Halo). I anticipated this game for a long time and bought it, along with XBOX live, on the morning of the release date. I was really disappointed.
Controls very sluggish

Played the game over the holidays and was not impressed. I am spoiled by the PC version of Unreal, with the quick, smooth movement offered by PC keyboard controls. However, while playing the Xbox version, I felt like I was riding in an old Evinrude boat. The movement was much slower and very difficult to control. I also agree with the other reviewer who complained about the "boxed in" level environment, as well as the sorry selection of weapons and the ineffectiveness of what is there to use. Also, the pop-up info was very annoying. Luckily, I purchased this from a store that allows returns as I intend to do. I can't believe we waited so long for this one.
If you're a PC gamer, DO NOT GET THIS

If you're not a pc gamer, you may like it. I've been playing unreal tournament on the pc since it came out, so i was curious to see how this would play on a console. Major letdown. The game is slow, graphics are so-so, and the customization is non-existant.
I'm just glad I rented it before I bought it. You should consider doing the same.

Unreal ahhh yes the loved computer game now hits xbox. I'm here to give pointers not information. The game= Weapons tight,Characters cool, levels are easy but the last 1 {I'll get to that in a minute},and the commands. The weapons in the game are used in a variety of ways from teleporters to the assault rifle whatever floats you boat they got it,the guns deal a lot of heat{killing the bad guys}.The characters you choose for your team are the most important part-you want people good but not too good*but why do I say such a thing why not the guys with the big bang guns*Because in the end of the game you have to fight your team {if you pick the extreme killers you'll lose in the end}*CURSE THAT MINIGUN*But somehow if you win you get to pick a new character....PICK MALCOM!! Hes the best guy in the whole froikin' game! Thats all I'm going to tell you. The levels like I said easy but near the end of the chain events the teams get competitive, kill u and ur team like like elephants and mice!{ahh yes but elephants are afraid of mice-what I'm saying is...shoot like an animal, who cares if u run out of ammo, theres tons of it in every level_but the last_ and its easy they die you reload and get health they come back you pump thier guts full of hot lead you do it over again. Anyways, the commands are cool{I always wanted a game where you control a small troop-you can tell them(your team)to guard this, attack that,or do what ever they do best, and I also wanted to make fun of those stupid people that helplessly try to kill you with a potato gun and you mow them down like a nuclear missle against a fly.The game allows you to taunt them or make fun of. {That I love}But buy the game, keep it real, and don't try ot defeat the human with the minigun the thing is unstopable against me. ;/
Ho, Hum.

This game is really fun, for about the first 30 minutes. You quickly come to the realization that once you've played the four or five available games you've basically seen it all. Sure you can choose different characters and different weapons, and different teamates, but it doesn't really change anything. As a rental game Unreal Championship is worth a weekend rental, but if you buy it you will be stuck thinking about what else you could have done with that $$.

Leave it to November to bring about the mainstay of the years hottest titles, and this November is no different, with hot titles like Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth, Splinter Cell, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City making their way onto the shelves just in time for the holiday shopping mayhem. Now, finally, after nearly six months of waiting, my most eagerly anticipated title has finally arrived, Digital Extreme's Unreal Championship. After crooning over it for so long, does it live up to the hype, did it blow me away like I knew it would? No, it didn't. As much as I hate to say it, Unreal Championship was disappointing.
The games developers had been advertising it for so long saying its being built ground-up for the Xbox, and even though the vehicles had been stashed a few months before its release, it still looked to surpass the PC's Unreal Tournament 2003, for it was something different, unfortunately Unreal Championship IS Unreal Tournament 2003, in fact asides from one new mode, there's really nothing different between the versions, and that's where my disappointment lies. However, that's not to say Unreal Championship isn't a good game because it is, and it's not just good too, it's a great game. The applause of this goes to an already excellent designed system for the PC version which carries over flawlessly onto the Xbox.
For console gamers who loved Unreal Tournament for the Dreamcast and Playstation 2, there's a lot to like with the latest installment of Unreal. It embodies everything you want in a sequel, its bigger, badder and better, period. Returning modes are the typical deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag, and domination. Domination has been altered from the original Unreal in where teams fight constantly over controlling three Control Points scattered throughout levels. Domination 2.0 is now trying to control two points simultaneously for 10 seconds without interruption in which your team then scores a point. It's nothing incredibly different, but does make the gameplay much more frantic and fast paced as you end up [speeding]all over the map to stop an enemy who is just seconds away from scoring a point.
New to the series is Bombing Run, which plays like a distorted capture the flag you'd find in the old days of P.E. back in junior high school. Teams fight over a ball that lies in the middle of both teams' bases, one you have possession of the ball you lose your weapons but holding the ball slowly restores your health for as long as you hold it. While holding it you can pass the ball to other teammates by shooting it towards them if you're being overrun by foes. To score player must bring the ball to the enemy's goal, running through the goal scores seven points, where as shooting the ball into the goal scores three.
Asides from the new game modes, Championship is now played entirely on teams. Starting a tournament you will be required to select a team from a large roster, there are classes of gladiators available now with each race having their own advantages and disadvantages. The alien race has increased speed but has a lower maximum health, the freak-show group is relatively weak but every time they are killed they grow stronger and stronger with each death. Once your team has been selected you will have to fight your way through the ladders and onto the final battle, where you will payback your teammates efforts by eliminating them yourself until you are the champion of the Unreal Tournament. This final match is the only Championship, exclusive that basically operates the same way a survival match would in fighting games.
In all, even with my disappointments, Unreal Championship is easily the best first person shooter I have played this year. After playing the original Unreal Tournament for the consoles, you couldn't help but be disappointed in their overall lack of multiplayer options and huge drop in frame-rate for split-screen play. Unreal Championship fixes all the gripes I had from the first and it stands now as the quintessential deathmatch game for console owners and is a must-have for Xbox owners, if you haven't played Unreal Tournament 2003 or don't have a powerful enough computer for it, Championship is your ticket.
One of the worse games ever.

This game is horrible. Basically you can play online with EVERYONE using rocket launchers. The single player is even worse. There is 0 strategy and no fun. I would recemmend saying far away from this one.
Get Ghost Recon for a good shooter. Thats assuming that you already have Halo. Ghost Recon and Halo are the two to own. Not this!!!!
If you don have it buy it today
