This game is gonna rock

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 4 / 15

This is the best darnn game ever. You get new guns and get to use a knife to grab and kill guards. Splinter Cell was fun, Splinter Cell 2 was better, so what can you conclude about Splinter Cell 3? The best Darnn game of the series.

Renamed to:SPLINTER ONLINE'with a small bonus solo campaign'

Splinter Cell is my favorite game series, and Chaos Theory is awesome .But Im a little ticked off that Splinter Cell has been turned into more of a dumbed down (easier)stealth game so novice gamers can beat it. IF YA WANT A shooter PLAY HALO2 ,DOOM3 Both excellent games.BUT DONT TAKE AWAY MY SPLINTER STEALTH! The whole design and idea of splinter cell was STEALTH ,now its turning into another shooter.Dont get me wrong I love First & Third Person Shooters. But Splinter WAS all about Stealth .I KNOW THAT YOU CAN PLAY CHAOS COMEPLETYLY IN STEALTH AND I KNOW THERE ARE STILL ALARMS .BUT I THINK ITS AN EASIER STEALTH GAME NOW SO MORE PEOPLE CAN PLAY THIS GAME.I think it was more of a callenge when it was Three alarms set and its game over .That was good. That was a challenge. That was STEALTH! NOW SPLINTER IS EDGING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO AN easier SHOOTER version.UGH! I know you can still play Chaos Theory completly in STEALTH if you choose. And you can play without so much as killing any enemies except for the mission targets. But there's not as many obstacles now to complete this game in stealth.Dont get me wrong I dont mind that they have added an assault choice I realy like it ,but I dont think they shouldve made the stealth part easier as they have in CHAOS THEORY.Im not a NAYSAYER I SUPPORT THIS GAME I THINK ITS THE BEST CONSOLE GAME PERIOD ,DID YA NOTICE I GAVE IT 5 STARS? ..BUT WHAT DRAW ME TO SPLINTER WAS THE SOLO STEALTH AVENTURE MODE ,NOW THERE IS MORE OF AN EMPHASIS ON 'ONLINE ONLY' AND THEYVE LEFT THE SOLO MODE TOO SHORT. Its like they threw in the solo mode as a bonus instead of it being the main part of the game. Now its been reversed ,the main part is ONLINE now and the solo mode is secondary. Also now you dont have the xtra zoom on the silenced rifle ,only the standard 1.5zoom .ONLY THE LOUD ASSAULT version choice has the sniper/rifle XTRA ZOOM capability WHY? WHY? WHY? The old silenced gun had an xtra 3.0 zoom .It was perfect ,and more accurate, for SILENT Sniper Head shots. Now if I want the xtra zoom I have too choose the LOUD ASSAULT version ,which is useless for stealth its LOUD!The third splinter cell is dumbed down(made easier) so more gamers could play because the STEALTH versions was too hard ,or too boring. You know its true !I just wish instead of putting more of there effort into the ONLINE portion of this game ,which is excellent from what I hear but I dont have online yet,so all get is a short solo campaign.DID I SAY I LOVE THE STEALTH aspect of splinter.I loved the adventure aspect of exploring new areas and new levels to see the rich graphics .But with online doesnt it get old? seeing the same areas over and over ?? doing the same tasks? I know the ONLINE Splinter is very kool ,and it will probably take some HALO2'S online status away. But what if they made a 30-100 levels of solo play.Imagine seeing new countries and new levels .That would be awesome a 30 -100 level solo SPLINTER CELL.With all different locales. The camera is a little different. Its a little better ,and a little worse. Now the camera floats out a little before it settles.AND on the ship LEVEL it actually was jumping on its own it was (fluttering)moving back and forth(the camera) ,especialy in the corridors of the ship.THIS is something the other SPLINTER CELL's NEVER DID! Also theres only two zooms on the (no weapon eqipped)Binocular type view ,I liked the old zoom of the second game it had a smooth zoom .NOW you only get two clicks ,instead of the OLD fluid d-pad zoom in.It was a good feature to scope out the enemies patterns. But now your limited to only two zoom clicks.OK now onto my PROS:once again EXCELLENT graphics..improved stealth A.I.,,,Nice level design.... Probably the best game on xbox...I LOVE THE FACT THAT THERE IS AN EXPERT SETTING NOW !THANK YOU ! THANK YOU!and the enemies searches for you much better than the first two games. They even use flares now ,very very kool...also you can save whenever you want ,no more waiting for checkpoints....I personaly felt the first 2 splinters where too easy even on the hard settings. I used to play them without even killing one guard or setting off even 1 alarm ,yeah its possible you whimps!.Its easy to just shoot somebody in the head ,the hard part is taking them all out by knocking them out in STEALTH, the other two SPLINTER'S actually had more levels where you were required(not a choice), to do just that,no kills,no alarms,to me thats a challenge thats the essence of sam fisher.THATS SPLINTER CELL. But as the saying goes the sqeeky wheel gets the grease .All you babies out there who couldnt handle the stealth 3 alarm ,or whatever ,got your wish .Splinter is now an improved action/online game .But Weaker in its original INTENT stealth version.MAYBE now you can beat the game.Maybe the next splinter cell game you guys will get your way again and even more stealth will be dumbed down (made easier)for the people who cant handle it.I like the fact that there is an assault choice, but couldnt you ALSO add more levels?? Instead more was put into the online and the assault portion,it kinda defeats the whole entire purpose of this game which is a stealth/action title. or is it? Introducing New Splinter Cell stealth lite for those on a diet.

Sold Out? Only If You're A Loser Fanboy

Nah, this series hasn't sold out. Anyone who says otherwise obviously hasn't played the game. Stealth is still the main aspect of the game; you will die if you confront the guards head-to-head. As for giving Sam a knife: every known member of the military is given a knife for a last resort, so NOT giving Sam a knife in the first two games was ridiculous. Hand-to-hand combat? What soldier doesn't know some? And for those who think that alarms have been removed; they haven't. They're just not as much of a headache now because the mission isn't lost when you're spotted three times.
So go out an play this and ignore all the nay-sayers who haven't even bothered to play the game. The single-player is certainly fun, but the meat-and-potatoes of this bad-boy lies in its multiplayer.

A great game worth playing!

This game is awesome. I like how Ubisoft took a great game series and built upon it. This game also lets you do things that you couldn`t do in other Splinter Cell games. First, you can pull people off of buildings, throw them over ledges and even cut them. My only complaint is that the game was a little bit hard, but it`s still a worthy purchase. Eat that, Metal Gear!

Possibly the best yet Splinter Cell Game

It's like trying to decide which Halo game was better, each of the 3 Splinter Cell games by Tom Clancy were great. Not just great, but worth all the hype they have received. Though I honestly cannot say I have played a bad Tom Clancy game yet.

Anyway,

Pros: Great graphics, possibly better than earlier versions
Great plot. Forces you to use strategy to win, though is fun from start to finish. Replay value is unlimited. Controls and all weapons are great. Voices used by the characters have and are still great. Alot more than this, but I don't have time for all the details

Cons: I would have to think about this for a while to think of one.

Summary: When did we ever go wrong with any Tom Clancy game? And if this one is is not his best, it's certainly one of his best ever.

Simply the best Game you can buy on the X-box right now

I really dont Know what to say,the game is almost flawless. This isnt one of these games where you can only play through it once and then it's garbage,Chaos Theory has excellant replay value-alternate in game paths that you can take and Graphics that surpass Halo 2 and Riddick by a mile. When i first herd the music in this Game i thought it was not really going together with the game (cargo ship, lighthouse)Then it just absoluty blew me away I needed to get the sountrack (yes, imagine a 13year old kid listening to Amon Tibon)You'll hear some people say that Metal gear solid 3 is better,if you hear that immideitly surch that person for drugs because that is absolute crap!!!!!!!!!!! Splinter cell may have a very convoluted storyline, but everything else is perfect like the camera-none of that birds eye view crap from Metal gear.So if your looking for a perfect game pick up chaos theory, also if there is any parents out there who wont let there kid's get this game note that you can trust me when i say this(i go to a christian school and get good grades)the violence isnt that bad and there is almost no blood (a little squirt)and every once in a while a guard will say the s-word (very Rarly)please let your kid get this game it is the best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

A Must Have For All Mature Gamers

What an amazing game! In all of my years of playing games I have never seen a multipayer anywhere close to the one in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Especially multilayer mode. It isn't the average 1st person shooter/3rd person action game, it is a hybrid of the two. You are able to play as either SHADOWNET Spies or ARGUS Mercenaries.
The SHADOWNET Spies are in 3rd person and take on the roll that is somewhat like Sam Fisher's. You are able to snap the necks of, jump onto and pull Mercenaries over a railing. Even with Thermal Optical Camouflage, this is a very difficult task in deathmatch mode [new and the most popular mode in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory].
The ARGUS Mercenaries, on the other hand, are equipped with either an assault rifle, a submachine gun or a double-barrel tactical shotgun. Equipped With Grenades, Smart Mines, Motion Vision and ElectroMagnetic Vision, they are spy-killing machines.

New Spy Abilities:
a. Rail Grab
b. Lethal Drop Technique

New Spy Gadgets:
a. Thermal Optical Camouflage
b. Heart Beat Sensor

New Mercenary Abilities:
a. Humiliation
b. Bezerk
c. Lethal Drop Technique

New Mercenary Gadgets:
a. Weapon: Submachine Gun
b. Weapon: Double-Barrel Tactical Shotgun
c. Camera Net.
d. Poison Mines
e. Backpack

Pros And Cons OF Multilayer Mode:
Pros:
a. Promised fulfillment of gameplay
b. Easter Eggs
c. Vast, detailed and large multilayer maps
d. Unexpected Realism: Pupil dilation in a dark room, after rain: your helmet will fog, etc..,.

Cons:
a. Games have a maximum of 4 players
b. Party leader cannot launch unless everyone is ready
c. Almost no way to tell if someone has already entered your game

Overall Rating Of Multilayer Mode: 5 Stars/10 Out Of 10/100%/A+/Etc...,.

I have just started to play story mode, even though I bought it in March. The multilayer mode is just that good. Also, because it isn't your regular multilayer game, it will take some skill [unlike games like Halo]. Do not get discouraged: instead, get Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Today [M, an ESRB rating issued by ESRB, means that Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is for mature players, 17 and older only and is not intended for gamers under 17 years of age, multilayer requires; a crossover cable, subscription to X-Box live, router and internet service {preferably DSL/Cable}: sold separately. Needed accessories; X-Box Console, 1 X-Box Controller, Television with three line in jacks and a Power Outlet. ESRB states that gaming experience may change unexpectantly during online play. 2005 Ubisoft, All Rights Reserved. Online rules may vary: Restrictions Apply.]!

Best Yet!

The new game in the Splinter Cell series, Chaos Theory, is without a doubt the best one so far. The graphics are even better than the first two, the gameplay is tougher, and there are many new gadgets. You now have the ability to use a shotgun, sniper, launcher, or a foregrip (for better accuracy)attachment on the SC-20k. The combat knife allows you to stab guys, cut materials to get through them, or break locks, eliminating the one or two disbosable locks you used to get.

As far as multiplayer goes, there is an even bigger improvement. There is the new Deathmatch mode for versus. Spies now have a gadget tha lets them turn invisible for a short time. Mercs also have three different tyoes of mines (laser, proxy, poison) to use. There are also many new and exciting maps, each with their own objectives to complete so it never gets repetitive with the same game types.

The new Co-op mode is definately the best change in the game. Although there are only four missions (five counting training), the gameplay is great. There are many co-op moves that both people need to do to complete. For example, one person can throw the other across a bunch of lasers.

Overall, I only found one complaint with the game. That is that the hacking of computers and other devices is complicated and confusing to new players of the game. It took me a long time to figure it out, and I still have trouble with it sometimes.

Other than that one complaint, this game is incredible and definately deserves the 9.9 that it got. Everyone should buy it as soon as they can.

Most beautiful. Game. Ever.

I'm not under thirteen, but i forgot my password. This is the most gorgeous game on any console. It has excellent shadows and normal mapping. Along with the awesome graphics is a well thought out and engrossing story to add to the great gameplay and overall excellent game. The coop mode makes it all the better with infinite replayability as the difficulty can be adjusted to your skill level almost perfectly. If you only buy one game in 2005, buy this one. Best Espionage game on the market today.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is the best espionage game on the market today. You'll keep telling yourself it's just a video game, but you'll still have the urge to creep quietly in the shadows for the fear of your life. Fans of the previous installments will have no trouble diving right into Ubisoft's latest and (thus far) best entry into the Splinter Cell series, but newcomers need not worry: Chaos Theory can be enjoyed by just about anyone interested in interactive entertainment.
