Sam Fisher does it again!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 3 / 3
Date: May 03, 2005
Author: Amazon User

This game is about as close to perfect as any game on any system to date. I know the subject matter is a trifle subjective- RPG/Fantasy or Sports buffs may not get much out of it- but for its genre, it's a perfect 10.
You FEEL a part of the game. You FEEL like you're right there with Sam Fisher lurking in the dark, a deadly shadow on a mission. You feel powerful!
Visually, the game is stunning. The environments are true to life and natural; even the urban sites don't neccessarily feel mapped out or linear. The interaction of light and shadow, the ambience of sounds and contextualized music put you more in the mindset of a film rather than game. (My wife commented that she likes watching me play because it's like watching a spy movie.)
It truly is the nuances that put this game over the top. You grab up a terrorist and you see the fear in his eyes as well as the malice in your characters. Noises in the environments (TVs, radios, etc.) mask the sounds you make- if you're careful. Not to mention the new moves they've added; I particularly like the inverted neck snap!
They've also improved on the multiplayer modes. Those who don't want to invest in online gaming can still enjoy a Co-op story mode in which you and a friend can play together, on the same console, to achieve common goals.
All in all, as in any Splinter Cell title, one really needs to experience it to appreciate it- to set it apart from other "covert operations" games- because it holds its own on its own plateau.
Splinter Cell: worth the buy every time.

Game of the Year

First, if you've played the first 2 games, you know this game will totally rock. Everything has been drastically improved, EVERYTHING! The graphics, gameplay, the story, the everything.

The game gives you new weapons and moves. You can get a shotgun, sniper, foregrip, and launcher. They all are unique in their own way. Now, you can use the deadly knife. Sam is just as deadly with his hands as his guns now. You can now interrogate almost every enemy.

Next, the story is one of the best. I won't spoil it but it is great. There are now actually plot twists. The ending is great. The levels are full of multypath levels. Their are 10 levels. Each one is filled with great lush graphics like water, forests, and urban enviremonts. There are tons of ways you can do everything.

The graphics are simply the best I've ever seen on any console, bar none. The reflection and light is amazing.

The coop is great even though there are 4 levels. There are tons of coop moves to do. It requres strategy and careful planning to carry out your objectives.

The online play is back and better then ever. You get way more equipent like camo suits for spies and a shotgun, assualt rifle, and SMG.

This game is a must have for any gamer. Get it now!

The best

Sam is back and kicks more butt plus more options to choose from weapon upgrades to let your enemy live or die, The rag doll physics let the body of your killed enemy interact with your enviornment say your next to a railing face it and kill the enemy and his body flips right over the railing thats cool. Then theres the co-op just like single player your on a seperate mission than Sam and you work with your partner to reach certain areas like boosting your friend to a ledge and climb on him like a ladder or just toss him at enemys to knock him out its really fun and i recommend this to every one who likes stealth action games.

Best X-Box Game 9.9/10

X-Box Magazine rated this game 9.9/10 and it should have been rated as 15/10 (fifteen!). It kicks! Best features: you can save your progress at any time; you can save as quick save OR as save so you can back up to a prior save in case you blow it. Great ammo. Great storyline (I won't spoil it). Plus the online X-Box Live games rock! I just finished this game and am in mourning, waiting for Chaos Theory II...or whatever the next Splinter Cell is...They really outdid themselves. PLEASE! Publish the sequel!

This game the third one, was insane better. More of the guards talk now when you grab them. The graphics are way better. There is now a knife so you can run up to a guard and kill them. This is the best SP game out to date hands down

Fantastic!

If your interested in stealthy 3rd person shooters with single play and online play, I highly recommend this game. If you don't have Xbox Live then your missing out on everything, so if you want to buy this and you don't have Xbox Live don't buy this. Online play is the most fun thing to do, especially being a mercenary and a spy. (Especially being a spy.) There are Pandora Tomorrow, maps but mostly new maps. (I highly recommend Aquarius and Clubhouse.) I have written a score for a few things below.

Graphics 5

Single Play 4/5

Multiplayer 5

Sound Effects 5

Value 5

GREAT GAME!

SCCT is a great game, with some of the best graphics on the xbox. i'll get right into what this game is:

This is a 'stealth' game. You dont go in guns blazing, because
1) You dont have nearly enough ammo
2) Alarms are sounded

For those of you unfamiliar to the games, you must shootout light objects, for the enemy to not be able to see you.
Then, you have 3 vision modes: Nightvision, Thermal Vision, and a vision that helps you see electronics (the only ones that really help are the first two).

SO, when the enemy gets close, you can
1) Grab and interrogate him
2) Slit his throat w/ your combat knife
3) Shoot Him

The first one is the most helpful in beating levels, for the guy you grab can hold valuable information.
The knife is also helpful, for it is a quick kill (but then you must hide the body, or others will find it, alarms will sound, making it a lot harder for you)

The gun works in critical places, but since you only get 100 rounds for the entire level, and it mostly consists of shooting lights out, conserve your ammo.

My next topic is weapons:

1)Combat Knife:
A double-sided, razor sharp blade that can be used to slit throats, stab enemies, and use to make them afraid so that you can get information out of them.

2) Pistol
This is a silenced pistol, with a 20-round clip, and you hold 40 rounds for it in the beginning of each level.

3) SC-20K Launcher
This is Fishers 'main weapon'. It fires 30 bullets a clip (and fisher can hold 60 bullets for it). It is equipped with 3 modes:

Normal Mode
Shotgun Mode
Sniper Mode

All help to suit each situation. It can be fired in single shot and in fully automatic modes as well.

In addition to firing rounds, it also has gadgets it fires.
1) Sticky Shocker- a round that electrifies an enemy, incapacitating him.
2) Airfoil Round- a ringed round that incapacitates an enemy
3) Sticky Camera- pretty self explaining
4) Diversion Camera- same as above, only makes noise to attract the enemy, then releases gas to incapacitate them.
5) Smoke Grenade- again, pretty self explaining.

Those were the main weapons, but i assume that there will be more in this game.

Meet the team:

Sam Fisher: Spy in the field
Irving Lambert: Leader of group- (think Jon Voight from M:I)
Anna Grimmsdottir: Computer Expert
William Redding: Gives all gadgets and weapons

Fisher is voiced by Michael Ironside, who has been in movies such as 'Starship Troopers'.

In addition to a wonderful single-player mode, this also includes many great multiplayer options-

Co-op: You and a friend (split screen, or from Xbox Live) can go through other missions that you didnt play in the single mode.

Versus: You play against others (Spies vs. Mercenaries) to get objectives. Spies have many gadgets, and can do sick moves. Mercenaries have HUGE machineguns to beat the crap out of the spies. I dont have Live, so i cant give much more on the Versus mode.

This game has amazing graphics, ai, and cool tricks (like hanging from pipes and snapping peoples necks). It truly pushes the xbox for graphics.

This game came from the creative mind of Tom Clancy, so you know it will be good.

I dont have much more to say. Thanks for your time!

This game is by far the best game I've played for Xbox.I bought it about 1 mounth ago and wasn't expecting it to be this good. The graphics and lighting are to die for. There are tons of new weapons and gadgets. The one I love to use is Sams new knife. The only bad thing is you can't shoot around walls in single player mode. The new co-op mode is also simply awesome. There is an arsenal of sneaky moves you can perform with your friend. If you are looking for a sneaky , online multiplayer game then stop searching and get this game now!!!!!
