Really Fun Game

Very good stealth type game. This game is really addicting and keeps you playing. Its a really intense game, and gets harder level by level. One of them games where it makes you think, you gotta think what your next move should be. Like coming up to a room and theres 2 guards patrolling it, should you take them out? Or sneak past them? Alot of stuff like that. Hands down a really fun game

Believe the hype!

Quit reading these reviews and go out and get your own copy now!! This game is that good... This game had me grinning from ear to ear. It's been a long time since I have played a game that I actually slowed myself down to enjoy the experience. Look at the sreenshots, read the hype, and forget any negative reviews coming from jealous PS2 fans. This is a must own game for your Xbox or PC game collection. Period. 5 stars!

Tom Clancy cant make video games.....

After hearing all the hype from my friends about this game, i finally picked it up. I liked this new idea of downloading new content for the game but i got rid of it before it came out. This is the 3rd game in the Clancy series that dissapointed me. My friends are now telling me to buy ghost recon but noo way. I didnt like splinter cell because of its lame camera angles and the bad story. Every level you have to lock pick about 20 doors and walk down a dark ally. and if someone sees you, you have to start the level all over again. I couldnt stand starting over and over again. Another downside is that all you have is a bad pistol. You cant pick up enemys weapons, and it takes your pistol atleast 4-5 shots to actually knock out the guy. Then after you knock out the guy you HAVE to pick him up and hide him (which takes about 5 minutes because you have to find a dark spot and then actually walk him over there). And this game has the worst checkpoints! it'll save you right by a camera so everytime you start, the camera sees you right away. this game could use some serious work, i dont know if its just me but i cant see how this game won game of the year. Spend your money on another game.

It's a good game with some room for improvent. Not terribly hard, but can present a challenge to younger kids. Some people complain that you don't get enough ammo. You get something like 40 rounds for your pistol and 40 or 60 for your rifle I cant remember. How many do you need. I don't even use more than 30 till about the fourth to last stage. And I don't hang in the shadows like the game suggests. The lock picking can get quite monotnous. And my game is messed up for the parts where you need to use the thermal imaging goggles to see the heat traces on the keypad locked doors. Don't know why'but it the opposite of what it should be. Light blue to yellow. mines yellow to blue. I now there's better games out there, but alot carry M ratings. If your not permitted to play M rated games this is a good game for you.

Splinter raises the bar for video games

I have heard this game compared to MGS2. Splinter might be the same category, but it is bound to be an entirely more thrilling game:
First, the stories and tactical challenges were developed by Tom Clancy. (He is the best author of action/adventure military-based novels)
Second, this game is not a sequel. It is unique in every aspect, particularly the stealth aspect, which leads me to the next point; graphics.
Being built on a new engine, vs. sequel games, the game will undoubtedly leverage every bit of the XBOX's computing power. Splinter uses the Unreal engine and I am pretty sure that most sequels are using old engines unless they are sequels built from scratch.

Can't wait for this game!!

I played the demo which came with the Official Xbox Magazine last month and this is by far the best game I have ever played in my life. The graphics are phenomenal and the gameplay is unmatched by any game currently on the market. Splinter Cell raises the bar for all futures games of this genre on all platforms. Just a few hours before release and I can't wait to get my copy!!

Druff is a MGS troll......Splinter Cell Rocks!!!

I've played the Demo of Splinter Cell and I've played the full version of MGS:2, I'll just say that the demo of Splinter Cell blows MGS:2 away! Everything about Splinter Cell is GREAT! Lighting, graphics, and something that MGS:2 didn't have......a good story line! You won't find the character (Sam Fisher) fighting ninjas or.......vampires, or talking to his girlfriend about what they did on their first date. If you like the sort of stuff then get MGS:2. If you want a "real world" plot, then get Splinter Cell.

totally awesome. my favorite game ever. the sound is revolutionary, the graphics are top notch, it is so real you'll freak. although, the PS2 version has four extra levels and thirty minutes of impressive new dialoge and cinematics, so i would buy the PS2 version if I were you. A must own for every gamer. it will change your life.

probably one of the best game ever

Initially, when I got the game I thought that it was the best game ever, even better than Metal Gear Solid (for Play Station 1,) but I soon noticed how wrong I was:

1) This game is exactly as someone else posted here, it's like a puzzle and you think you have many choices, but the only choice you have is the way the programmer intended it to be.
2) There are barely any weapons, but I'm not too fussy about that.
3) The game is ALL THE SAME!!!!!!! You run around kill people and go ahead. There are absolutely no end bosses or anything, you just snipe the end guy in like 1 second at the end of the game.
4) The AI is incredibly stupid on Hard mode, even with the 1.1 patch installed.
5) The movies before missions are horrible. The ending is incredibly lame.
6) The story is even worse...it just has no point.
7) The game is short and I finished it in less than a week...and I'm not a computer addict: I don't stay on my pc 24/7.

Pros:
1) The voice acting is usually convincing.

2) The graphics are really good...this is one thing I liked throughout the game, but I prefer good games with bad gfx such as Shogun Total War (actually, the gfx aren't that bad in that game.)
3) I liked the ability to grab a character from behind ^_^ ..that was fun. But it was cooler in Metal Gear Solid 1.

All in all, I really don't suggest you buy this game. If you really want it, I suggest you get it from a friend or download it...don't waste 40 bucks like I did.
