I was never really big on the shoot em up type games but a friend convinced me into buying this one. Halo is by far the best game I have ever played. 5 stars just won't cut it for this game, it deserves more. The storyline, gameplay, and the graphics are amazing. Lets hope the XBOX comes out with a sequel - This game alone will help make the XBOX become the best selling game console

The best action game I have ever played

I have played hundreds of video games, but I have only finished two or three. This game was so addictive for me that I have already finished it, and I only bought my Xbox two weeks ago. In a sense it was disappointing that it was over. I am not sure if the game is short or I was just very glued to it. Like I say, I don't finish many games.

I have to say I agree with some of the gripes about the game. The save system was the most annoying to me. Several times I would cross one checkpoint then backtrack to another checkpoint, which would overwrite my previous save. Then when I went back to the area where the first save was, I died and I ended up having to replay both sections over and over again. My problem likely comes from the fact that I am a cautious player who would cross into a new zone, see enemies that require a different weapon, backtrack through 12 levels to get the right weapon, come back to where I was and proceed to kill enemies and die. Then have to track back through those levels to get my gun again. The only other annoying part was one level in the middle of the game (right before the big mountain in front of the control room) where the game forced you to play essentially the same room over and over again. That got boring.

I disagree with the people who say the frame-rates are slow. I never noticed that in the game. I played with s-video rather than hdtv which may have made a difference. The graphics were superb from my experience.

Overall, I really enjoyed this game so I gave it five stars. It probably is the best shooter I have ever played (I don't strongly enjoy shooters normally, I prefer RPG's and strategy games.) This might be a consideration for those of you who play shooters without much attention to strategy(if that exists). Halo has a great deal of strategy in the game. You have to grab this vehicle at this time or you die when you try to do this thing. The order matters. I think the reason I enjoyed Halo more than most shooters is that it seemed to me that there was significantly more strategy involved. This may be a consideration in the value you place on my recommendation.

One of the main reasons I asked for the Xbox.

If you're going to buy an Xbox, you absolutely have to have this game even if you don't like first person shooters (FPS's). When I bought Half-Life for the PC, I was amazed at the gameplay. With Halo, I was dumb founded. Never have I seen a game with such beautiful graphics, a tremendous plot, extremely excellent control, and vehement non-stop action. And let's not forget the fact that you can drive and fly vehicles! Also, to elaborate more on the graphics of Halo, I wouldn't be surprised if film studios asked for the game engine so they could make more realistic CGI shots, the graphics are that good.

Halo is definitely a very good game, however there are some things that could be much better about it. well first off, there are very few weapons, you can pretty much get all of them in the first level. One really great thing about it is driving the vehicles. It is tough getting used to the controls in teh beginning, but when you get the hang of it it is great. the game is also pretty easy, i beat it in a week and a half. this is definitely a must have games for xbox at the time.

You have to buy this game!

I have always been a die-hard nintendo fan and was planning on buying a gamecube, but I played this game at my friend's house and that was all I needed to see to become a Halo and X Box fan. If you just bought an X Box and are trying to decide what games to get, definatly get this one!

Incredibly Addictive

Of all the great first person shooters made avaliable in the last 10 years, HALO is by far the most amazing of them all. I first played it in my local mall at a computer vendor... for about one-and-a-half hours straight. It's that addictive. The next day, I got to play with a group of off-duty Marines, and they agree that it captures actual combat physics better than any other game on the market. For the best realism, get rid of Quake and get HALO. You'll agree that it is by far the best.

Addictive fun

This game kicks booty! I didn't think that I could get so into a game any more. I'm 32 years old, and I never play games anymore since I was a teen. This game is everything they all say it is. You gotta have it dude. Don't make me come over there...

Halo Online mutiplayer is great for an amazing single player 1st person shooter. The multiplayer capabilities are amazing too. With the release of Halo custom Edition from Bungie.com you can take the modding capability of games to a brand new level. This by far is one the best best games ever. And to all those who says it's too easy try to beat it on legendary difficulty in 5 days. Simply a MUST HAVE! Raven
