THE PREMIERE X-BOX RACING GAME

Forza Motorsport is Microsoft's grand attempt at breaking the strangle hold that Grand Turismo has had on the racing simulation. The attempt is certainly a very impressive one and quite welcome as well. First of all we start with vehicle selection of over 200 cars from Ford, Nissan, Porsche, Mecedes and more that will be available through content download off X-Box Live. With this many cars to choose from, it makes for great replay capability. The game features several different modes of play including Arcade, career and of course multi-player online, also greatly adding to the replay value.

In Arcade mode you can compete in six different vehicle classes. Most of the cars are selectable but many have to be unlocked through gameplay. In all the arcade mode offers 186 races in 31 different events making it a tremendous challenge. But Forza Motorsport really shines with the tremendous career mode option. You start by selecting your home region which dictates the cars that are available for use with a starting number of six in each region. From there you start your career at the bottom in the amateur circuit to race and build credits towards buying new cars, buying parts or making modifications to your existing ride. Just the paint and decal selections to modify your car's look offers hundreds of options. Credits are also used to unlock higher levels of competition to get more challenges. There is also a pretty cool reward system where you can gain discounts on parts from certain manufacturers. When it comes right down to it, the sheer number of option and modifications that you have available to you can be pretty overwhelming, but if you're looking for depth in this department then this is the game for you.

The graphics and sound are just fabulous and top Grand Turismo in every way. The cars look showroom accurate and the various tracks and locations you race on are just stunning! The music offers several options including adding your own custom soundtracks. With it's sheer number of options and great play Forza Motorsport is a fantastic race simulation.

GT4 is dead, there is a new king in town and its Forza. This game smokes GT4. Better graphics, better AI, better money/reward system. I bought GT4 on opening day and have played it maybe 6 hours total. Just since buying forza, I have probably played it more then that. You can google search it if you want screen caps or full reviews, but if you want the best racing simulator, go and get forza. it even has autocross tracks.

OH MY GOD!!

This game is (sic)! I bought it the day it came out and put it in and was amazed just by the opening movie... I'm a huge fan of the need for speed underground series, but this game makes those games look like they were made for the original nintendo... The customizing features kick a** unlike NFS you can put decals and vinals anywhere you want, re-shape them, tilt 'em, and rotate 'em. Theres over 200 cars, and tons of races!!! This a a definate buy!!!!!!!!

Hours and HOURS of fun

What a great game this is. It has so many features that are great but a few need to be mentioned. One is the Online experience. The ability to buy, sell and trade your cars with other Xbox Live members really sets this game apart. Also, you can race in your career mode on Xbox Live against other players to unlock cars, parts, and to win cash!! The other is the ability to give your car it's own custom look by using dozens upon dozens of layers and decals and then taking that custom paint job to show off Online. That feature alone will provide you with hours of fun.

This is the best racing game ever. I have relished each and every Gran Turismo and loved the NASCAR games. I've torn it up in the World of Outlaws, and raced online in Project Gotham 2, and this is the first game in quite a while that has taken it to the next level. The physics are much better than anything else in the genre, the graphics are spot on, and the game has a ton of depth. I haven't been this absorbed by a racing game since the early to mid years of Gran Turismo.

Some of the coolest features: Being able to trick out your ride any way you want: paint, decals, parts etc.

You can race online and build a career there.

You can adjust your car on the fly in the test mode (a real time-saver).

The competition is tougher, and the difficulty is however you want it. If you beat everything on the solo game and are feeling like the next Jeff Gordon, then take your game online and see how wrong you are! Nothing is a substitute for human competition!

Your car can take on damage if you want, and it affects the performance of the car.

Gran Turismo has ruled the roost, with good reason, for years and years. GT has given me alot of good times, and deserves our respect, but it has finally been unseated.

If you love racing games, you can not go wrong buying this game.

Best simulation racer on any console

I hadn't purchased a racer type game since GT2 came out for the Playstation but after reading all the details about this game I decided to pickup a copy and I haven't been disappointed at all!! Unfortunately I don't have a high-speed connection so I'm not able to play over Xbox Live so my comments refer only to the offline mode. The cars in the game look incredible driving around the track and you can even see the driver inside the car turn the wheel when you do and even shift gears. I haven't seen this attention to detail in other games of this type. The cars handle very realistically and you can tell a difference when driving after making modifications or upgrades to the car. The tracks are fun to race on and the AI is the best I've seen for a racer. The AI cars will try and "tag" you if you're in their line and will try and avoid you attempting to do the same to them. Its almost like racing against other human drivers. The graphics are the best I've seen with exception to GT4 which looks slightly better. Another nice aspect is the different difficulty settings. You don't just choose Easy, Medium or Hard but also driver assisted options such as ABS, Traction Control, Body roll(don't remember the exact name) can be turned off to increase the difficulty (increase difficulty means earning a higher percentage of credits when you finish a race). Another nice feature is your given a "driving line" you can follow around the track that shows you when to give it the gas, let up or apply the brakes which is very helpful for learning the ways to handle different turns and curves (you can also disable this feature to increase the difficulty and earn more credits per race). I've read playing on Xbox Live is a blast and hopefully I can get a high-speed connection soon so I can sign up. I highly recommend this game.

I have loved the gran turismo series ever since the first one came out(ps one). They were, in my opinion, always the best/most realistic racing sim out there...that is until Forza! This game is simply beautiful and it's gonna sell a TON. According to a review in gamepro, "easily the best driving game ever made". XBOX Live too, sweet! Along w/ the Halo & Splinter Cell series this game is a must buy for ALL xbox owners. Forza will rock your ass, kid. To quote the fast & the furious..."Smoke 'em !!!"

What is the pain? The fact that I now get no sleep because this game is one of the best. Its a must have for any Xbox game collection.

Great Game! Bummer about replay...

I loved this game I was a huge GT series fan and actually went and got an Xbox because of all the great pics and reviews. Just a few points I didn't like or had issues with.

a. I play 2 player mode alot with my buddy. No rearview mirror, and no instant replay! That was really a bummer, that was some of the most fun with Gran Turismo going through and watching the replay after a good couch race!

b. Tough to gauge the speed your going, I got used to this a bit. But GranTurismo it's easier to tell if your locking up the brakes or just gauging your speed going into corners.

It is an absolutely beautiful game and you will love it!

A real beauty!!!

I loved GT3 on the PS2. THe realness was fantastic, but it suffered one problem, after a while it just wasnt fun! As great and realistic as the game is it just wasnt as fun as Need for Speed - Hot Pursuit. Now comes Forza... hands down the BEST racing game I have played period! Adds the realism of Grand Tourismo with the fun factor of Need For Speed Underground.

It's great that Forza has the option of using the left stick for periferral vision too.... but I wished it was smoother looking all the way around the car like you see when looking to the front right and left corners rather then the straight cuts you see when looking back and to the back corners.

All in all a great racing game!
