I agree with all the rave reviews for this product. The one thing that is a must, in my opinion, is having a racing wheel to use with this game. The early stages are fine without one, but once you get in high competitive races near the end (single player) then the quirky thumbstick just doesn't hack it with jerky movement on corners.
A definite contender against Gran Turismo.

This game surprised me in how good it is, especially considering its the first in the series. It has a lot of cars, and some brands that Gran Turismo couldn't get its hands on. For some reason the cars look strange at first, and I just can't figure out why, but you get used to it. The customization is great. The physics and controls feel pretty good as well. The various sound effects are all well done. There is a wide variety of tracks, some real and some made up.My main gripe besides the cars seeming weird is that the game is incredibly easy compared to Gran Turismo. If you're a fan of racing games you should give this a shot.
Excellent Racing Game

Microsoft has finally released something to compete with the current heavy weight champion "Gran Turismo" and they have done a very good job with it. The tracks are diverse, well replicated, and very realistic. The cars represent many different brands and several eras of cars, anyone will find something they like in here. The tuning is incredible, you can do everthing from changing the spoiler, adding a rollcage, buying a new exhaust, new ECU anything! Then what makes it even better is you can then go into the tune menu and adjust everything, if you know what you are doing you can perfect a car for certain tracks. The gameplay is pretty good, some of the races can be frustrating because they are hard to beat, but that only adds to the fun of getting good at it. The menus do a good job of organizing tons of information into very intuitive and usable categories. It is somewhat difficult to progress through the game and unlock cars but not too hard. The driving physics are very realistic and take some getting used to with a game-controller, the learning curve is probably about an hour, and then you can never stop getting better with practice. I reccomend this to anyone who is moderately serious about racing games and wants a challenge, it may be too challenging and frustrating for the younger ones
Best Game on the xBox. Period.

This game is a copy of Gran Turismo on the PS2, however, be thanksful Microsoft created it. Compared to Gran Turismo 4, this game feels more real and cars react more realistically. It also has car damage. However, the PS2's GT4 has better graphics, more cars, and a rally series. The rally series in GT4 is almost a game by itself and the best rally experience out there. Having said that, GT4 is better because of the rally, but Forza isn't far behind and lets you play online and customize cars more than in GT4. This game is jewel and the best experience for the xBox.
This isn't Grand Turismo for sure!

Graphics are OK, the "feel" isn't nearly as good as many racing games I've played. I often found myself braking too late. Who knows, maybe this game is more realistic than most, but it sure doesn't feel like it.

This purchase is to replace the first Forza my son had, we wore it out! At first I thought, what a waste of time it is to play these silly games. Soon, I found myself addicted. Forza is a fantastic game, it is well thouht out to the finest detail. Each car drives differently than the others. The handling characteristics can be changed by altering suspension components and angles. Power can be increased by adding parts as one would with a real car. Most impressive is the actual driving. Some cars oversteer, some under. Forza has a large variety of real world tracks to race on. The tracks are real, the turns feel and look real. I think my son learned to drive "playing" Forza and for myself, my love of cars was rekindled.
