Cute, deranged, and a whole lot of fun

I don't really know what it is about this game that makes it so much fun. The plot of Pikmin is that you're an astronaut whose ship is struck down and wrecked on an alien planet. The atmosphere is toxic to you, and you only have 30 days to gather the parts of your ship up and escape. It's a race against time, helping you though are the Pikmin. These weird little plant creatures come in three types, red, yellow, and blue. Each has their own special ability. Red can withstand fire, yellow are easily thrown and can carry bombs, and blue can swim. Using your Pikmin, you must gather up the parts to your ship and escape the alien world.
Pikmin as a game has exceptional picturesque graphics, great sound and music, a very innovative game design, and play control that you can't possibly not master. If there's one problem with the game, it's that some may find it too short. The time element though adds this constant stress, making the game more exciting. Pikmin is also made by the gaming genius Shigeru Miyamato, so you knew it had to be good. This is a great game to buy and enjoy.

This game is one of the best games on Nintendo Gamecube. Help the little Captain guy build his ship by using Pikmin to help you. Also grow new Pikmin and fight the monsters that eat them. Don't judge this game by its appearance, it's really very good and challenging, as you do have a time limit to get the whole ship intact. It may get somewhat repetitive at times, but don't give up. You will become hooked on Pikmin farming! Those little buggers are just SO adorable!!!

I love this little game. It's the most creative game I've ever played. Since when has there ever been a game about a guy who crashes on a planet and has little plant animals help him? NEVER!

If you own gamecube, this is definitely a MUST to buy.

Too hard sometimes but is very fun espesially battles. They needed more different kinds of pikmin though like largr ones that battle and muscley small ones that carry stuff. There also should have ben levels that you fly you space ship thogh the clods, forests and asteroids.

The creator of Mario has done it again with a game that is sure to sell plenty of Gamecubes over the next few months. This game is beautiful and very technically impressive, but at the same time leaves you begging for more.

You are marooned on a planet and need to find 30 different parts for your space ship, but with only a limited time to do so. You have 30 "days" in the game that are really 15 minute segments in real-time. You use small, mindless creatures called "Pikmin" that each have seperate qualities and abilities, who aid you in your quest.

The best part of this game is the difficulty. The game is never too hard or really stumps you, but it also never gets too easy or repetitive. It has the perfect mix of strategy and action, all doused in gorgeous graphics and control.

Overall, I would suggest this game for anyone who has a good 7 hours to blow with their shiny new Gamecube. Who wouldn't trust the creator of Mario?

When I first got my GameCube I played Luigi's Mansion constantly but now I play Pikmin for hours on end. I own N64, Playstation, Super Nintendo,and XBox and this is my favorite game. The graphics are very good along with the music but the camera is a little difficult to control. The story is very unique unlike any game I know and this definetly rates up with the Zelda and Mario games. Overall this is definetly a game that you should own for GameCube.

I am not a big fan of strategy games or puzzle games in general, no matter how hyped up they are. Call me crazy, but I did not like the Resident Evil series, which all my friends hate me for. That's why when everyone said Pikmin was so great, it was a very hard sell to get my to buy it.
When I first saw the add for Pikmin, I thought it honestly looked like the stupidest game I had ever seen. However, as the time went on the concept grew and grew on me. Then the day hit me, where a huge revelation had went on in my head. I HAD TO GET THIS GAME ALL OF A SUDDEN! So I bought it, and BAM! I was right. One of the (if not THE) best games I had ever played. Fun, strategic and challenging; this game has everything. There is almost no possible way you cannot enjoy this game. So please, I urge you to go out and buy this NOW!

Pikmin is a picker for every gamecube owner!

A cool game about little thingys named pikmin with leaves on there head(and the grodog*or whatever it's called*is a freaky forest dog thingimagigy)Okay,you look at the box and think"this game is WAY to kiddy!Look,cute little creatures and just the name"well,your thinking wrong!It's a great single player game with good sounds,great graphics and a puzzling challenge for young and old!The point of it is you are a spaceguy who crashed into the pikmins planet.His whole ship falls apart!He starts looking for the pieces but on the way,leafs stick out of the ground.He picks them up and(pop)a pikmin!The pikmins help you find all the pieces before 30 days are up:)

Pikmin is a really innovating and amusing game that deserves 5 stars. I've already played it and finished it and I wouldn't feel well if I put it less than that.Many people say that this game should be bigger and that they feel "stress" while playing it because of the limited time in a day and also the limited 30 days to acomplish your goal, but I can tell you that this makes the game funnier, more challenging and realistic.
The music is very good and apropiate, and I love the one when the day ends.
The graphics are very good. The enemies look very funny and everything fits perfectly.
I strongly recommend this game for everyone who wants to have a lot of fun and accepts the innovation and creative ideas that change the world of videogames.

This game made me feel happy while playing it, and I completely agree with the guy who says that Star Fox Adventures is everything except a funny game. I seriously doubted to buy Pikmin, because I didn't think it would be very good, and it wasn't until 2 months ago that I found it at a very good price that I decided to buy it, so search for it and do the same I did. Even knowing that Pikmin 2 is coming I recommend you not to lose the chance to play the original besides the second part.

I find the concept of having little plant-things following you around all the time is just awesome. Add great music, graphics, plot and lots of replay value and then you have pikmin. Some of the graphics can be jaw dropping, and the music really sets a great story up. Overall anyone that owns a Gamecube should definatly own Pikmin!
