quote: "Buy it if you like a first person shooter that has the ability to tailor a characters looks and skills to what you would like"
This game is NOT a first person shooter. it is a MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying game) set in the star wars universe. Make a character choosing the 8 speicies... Human, Zabrak, Bothan, Mon Calimari, Wookie, Trandoshan, Rodian, and Twi-Lek. Customize his/her looks (yes, girls, they have female characters). Then pick a town to put your character in. you can see landmarks (I.e. the shuttlebay darth maul and qui-gon dueled in). Its set in the period between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, so you can become a Imperial or a Rebel. and for the dedicated you can TRY to become a jedi (ive been trying for a long time, tough tough tough, but possible. This however, has alot of lag and downloads, but nothing not seen in other online games.

if you are a role playing fanatic, a multiplayer fanatic, a starwars fanatic, or just a gamer, buy this.

Once I got this game going, I am hooked. This is my first MMORPG and living in the Star Wars universe is unreal. If you need more than 4 hours sleep a day this game is not for you.

before i even bought this game i thought it was fantastic! my mate bought it because he loves star wars and i hated star wars completely.i decided to start a game and i couldn't stop playing it it was fantrastic!you start off with the options to be a marksman, brawler, scout, artisan or entertainer and you get to make your own character in incredible detail starting off with just clothes and a shoddy old CDEF rifle,i quickly became obsessed with finding new things to kill, getting badges(which can be obtained by doing special things)and getting better weapons and more better things like cool looking clothes and learning new abilities.another cool feature is that to start off with you only know your own languages and you either have to pay for them to be taught or get some kind player to teach you.Teaching people has benefits for you as well as the person you taught because you gain 'apprentice points' which are used for mastering professions.the good points about this game is limitless and the only bad thing in my eye is the occasional lag which can be annoying sometimes but is usually only temporary. if anyone tells you this game is bad then they must have been on drugs or something because this game ROCKS!

Give it a chance, it will grow on you

This was my fist venture into the MMORPG genre. I was never that interested in the Ever Quest world, but Star Wars seemed like a much more interesting place to explore. I have been playing for about a week now and I absolutely love it. The key to enjoying the game comes from the social interactions you have while in the Star Wars world. It is a very rewarding experience to meet with fellow gamers in the cantina and go off on an adventure together. The game makes social interactions fun and meaningful and even the shyest gamer will come out of their shell once they are in this fantastic world. Give it a shot, you won't regret.

Well worth the monthly Fee

This game will be awesome. I've been following it for about a year, and had the disappointment of the delayed release like 5 times. I'm certain that this time is the charm! Even though you have to pay a monthly fee, it will be well worth it to be able to immerse yourself in such a well recreated Star Wars universe. You can literally do anything, or be anything you can imagine. I can't wait!

The best computer game of all.

When are you people going to realize that all these so-called "bugs" in the game are only the fault of running it on a shoddy Microsoft System. Though I'll have to agree with the thing somepeople are saying about how long it takes to get a response... But that too was probably intentinal to get you to pay the online subscription for as long as posible.
As for the game itself, it is an ingenious idea and a wonderful game. For those of you who haven't noticed it actually has a bit incommon with "Animal Crossing", beleve it or not, only instead of a cheesy animal village, you get to create your life and character in the StarWars Universe. Moving through your virtual life to become anything from a Jedi Master, to a Dancer in the bowels of Cursant, to Bobo Fett's Right-Hand Man, to a RedGuard of Darth Sidious.

George Lucas! What were you thinking when you let this be released on only windows. Give us a console version or at least release it for the Mac!

A Fan whose fed up with Microsoft and computer problems...

The Greatest MMORPG Ever

I Believe this is the Best MMORPG Ever. I have played it since it's release and have had very few problems with it.I run it on what is now considered a "low-end" system and have been very surprised at its performance. Yes there are a few bugs, but that's inevitable with any software produced these days. SOE and Lucasarts are fast in patching these bugs, and are responsive to the needs of their customers.I only gave it 4 stars because of the bugs, otherwise it would be 5. I am looking forward to the Space Expansion on pins and needles.

not as good as others

This is one great game no MOMRPG fan should miss! This game offers us to play on a more futuristic and technology based world, rather than most games of this type, which are about wizards and warriors. Also, it offers us a very interesting PvP type of game, with a story that goes on each week! and lots of class combinations. So, IF YOU WHANT TO PLAY SOMETHING MORE RATHER THAN THE TRADITIONAL WIZARD-WARRIOR-MEDIEVAL MOMRPG THEN THIS IS THE GAME FOR IT!
