SWG, gaining steam for me.

This is only my second MMORPG experience. Everquest Online Adventures being my first, the PS2 game. Coming from the PS2 game, I found SWG to be very complex. I had read that EQOA was "simplified" for the Playstation and I guess that was correct.

I've been playing SWG for 5 days now and am finally starting to feel more comfortable in the game. I run into people who say they aren't enjoying it yet, but I am not one of them. Perhaps I'm just enjoying discovering the play system, but I am enjoying myself. I am signing up for a full year subscription to it because I really feel a lot of potential in the game.

I hope this was helpful for someone. I'm ready to get home and back in the Star Wars universe. Maybe I'll see you there.

Why can't we use the game for lan parties

While this game might be the best game out there. It does leave a little to be desired. Why not have it set up so that a groupe of people can link their computers together to play? Facing a human if more fun but What if I don't want to play someone from across the country or from around the world. I can tell you why that these games are good but not the best. Why pay to play a game that you have to buy? if anyone can answer that question then here is another one. Why won't some internet providers offer Dsl at reasonable rates? If you can answer that one then you have the right to post an opinion about a game. And rember that Dialup is what most of the country is still doing.

Decent game...just don't buy into the Starwars theme

Decent game. Great graphics (which are usually the last thing I look at), but most importantly depth and content. My only hope is that this game is picked up by members of the regular MMORPG crowd (EQ, DAoC and UO) and not some silly Star Wars fan trying to live out their fantasy. I think fans of Star Wars who have never played a MMORPG before might be in for a big surprise when you start getting some of the Uber guilds up in running in SWG, but hey maybe we will convert a few of the console bunnies to the PC MMORPG world.

What should I buy?

I haven't yet played this game but i have seen it and previews for it. Most people get bored watching someone else play a game or sitting there doing nothing letting the preview run. The preview for this game is even good. I think that this most likely will be the number 1 RPG online. I am a former player of Everquest. I had all the expansions and the only good that came out of that game to me was being able to sell my account for 400 dollars. I spent probably more than that getting my characters high enough. There is a online fee for this game but I guarantee that you will get your moneys worth. This game will dominate over Everquest 2 , Shadowbane, Dark Age of Camelot, and Anarchy Online. For all you star wars fans this is a must have, probably one of the most genious ideas sony has came out with. I can only say so much about this game but this is a game that you will be stuck to. Everyone gets bored of a game sooner or later. There is no guarantee that you wont play it for the rest of your life but there is a high chance that you will for at least say 5-10 years. I think that if you are a true star wars fan then if u buy this game the only time you will quit is when a more new or better star wars game comes out. If you are looking for something to spend money on this has got to be it. Thank You. Your Favorite critic

This game has it all, from being a mire nasty smuggler to being a Jedi Knight. Interactive is the main mission in this MMORPG. Verant has gone over the boundries to capture the true essence of Star Wars and George Lucas's dream. I read a article about George Lucas in some computer Mag. George Lucas said " I never imagine my Movie STAR WARS was going to be this big to where people would interact with one another". Who knows you might even be bumping elbows with GL character on Star Wars Galaxy.

When the time comes for this game to launch there will be that rush of excitement like standing in line to watch the movie. Well it is time for me to prepare the warp drive to get to my destination.............

O god...another star wars thing....ONLINE!!!

This has to be one of the best MMPORGs that will ever come out. Lucas Arts made a good decision on this one.

I think if you enjoyed everquest, even a little, and you are a star wars freak (like myself) then you must get this one.

That subscription pays for new features developed into the game on a weekly and monthly basis, additional new content, and bandwidth (this is an online only game), along with friendly technical and in-game support (an area in which LucasArts really shines). For a measly $nn per month... subscription you have unlimited opportunity within the Star Wars universe to live out your dreams. But if you're cheap, stay away: you dont deserve such an awesome game. Visit the website. Learn a little about this game before you judge it. It will be the hallmark game of the 2002 year.

Okay you want to know what I have to say about this game. I think it is the best MMORPG( Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game) ever. I have been waiting for this game to come out for almost 2 years and I have been waiting and waiting. I remember seeing Star Wars in 1977 and was stunded on how great it was, i have been a fan ever since and you know what to all the other fans of Star Wars get this game you wont regret it. The BEST MMORPG rated by E3, most anticipated game of the year by another company. So get this game and BE PREPARED to be in awwww when it comes out

I know you will see a lot of people shouting about how bad the game is now. I've played for over a year. FYI - they changed the way combat works in the game, a major change. They game had degraded to a solo loot hunting mess. I hadn't been in a hunting group in 6 months, it was a waste of time.

When I first logged in I died 3 times in 10 minutes. I turned the game off, angry. My friend called me and we plotted quiting the game. But I logged back on, and forced myself to find a group. I was shocked to find groups forming all over the place. Everyone quickly joining up. And now, we could go straight to hunting without buffing, or waiting for people.

And the experience! Wow. Grinding has never been so fun. The bigger your group, the more exp. And new players, join up with a group and watch the exp roll in.

It's not 100% perfect, but most of it is looking good, and I've been having a blast! The people that don't like the new game are loners who refuse to learn about the new skills and don't like that they can actually get killed now. It used to be that masters basically couldn't die in a normal fight. Now you have to be careful, or you might die.

It's the best game. Many of the people that wrote bad review probibly did it without playing the new update very long. Enjoy!
