Most and i repeat most of the reviews of this game were based on one day of play after the Combat Update CU. The game is just as fun as ever and the main difference is its more complicated, before the CU you could fight and kill anything by yourself and now you can kill most everything if your GOOD at the game and the rest if you are willing to work together and use several attacks/ Skills. though there are many bugs with the new update they are actively working them out and the game will be back to its standard in weeks. THE GAME NOW REQUIRES SOME SKILL AND BRAIN POWER. well enough said time to play SWG enjoy hope to see you out there.

To all who don't believe this game will be worth it needs to stop by the official web site and view the postings for the past year. This game is developmental and will bring the expectations of the Star Wars trilogy to life! All the race and classes seen in the trilogy will be tangible and like the other MMORPG games out there it will bring the realism to what they yern for. Like any true designer will tell you, perfection takes time, you don't just throw a bunch of disk with poor construction and expect it to sell and bring people back for more. And even though they have pushed it back again, I think they are really on to a good idea. And I for one would want a game, as well as any expansions,to unfold into what we have seen from the time this trilogy was concieved. So all those who are waiting hang in there.......

This Gme is the number One Game. You can be any one and choose from over 40 differnt carrers you can be a cheif or a Jedi Master. Or maby you and some freinds want to colonize a moon or something. you can do that I AM NOT KIDDING WHEN I SAY THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER i know this because I am Beta tester and i am telling you its the best game in the World for now. It will be even better when LucasArts Lunches its expainsion set wich adds space ships wich you use to travel from planet to planet and fight people There are 7 Planets Such as Naboo, Yavin etc. etc. I highly sugest buying it. I say if the unfinished work is good the the finished work must rock. If I could I would of given it more stars

Prolly the most anticipated MMORPG of the decade. Allowing players a true immersion into the Stars Wars Universe. Sure to cause thousands of hours of lost sleep and more then one sick day from work. A must have for even the least experienced gamer.

In terms of what has been revealed thus far, SWG is definitely on track to be THE mmorpg game of the year! The scope of the game is immense and should appeal to hardcore fans as well as beginners.
The game itself is situated somewhere between the older movies, or what is now known as Episode IV through Episode VI. Players will be able to play a wide variety of characters, based on 8 in game races, and explore just as many different planets.
Only problem now is the wait! The game is still in beta testing and initial estimates for a Christmas release are still unconfirmed even though its listed here for Jan 15 2003! Whatever the case...get it now!

...and I'm hooked. I even went out and bought a better video card (mine is old and needed replacing...I was just looking for an excuse to spend the money).
I'm getting the hang of things I think, and working my character through the paces...It's great to meet other fans of the movies/universe, and pretend it all really exists...
Now, if I could just figure out a way to get my homework done at the same time...do you think I could pass it off as a Psychology experiment?
By far the least boring online game. This is actually good.

I normally really do not like online games (although I keep trying them), but I got hooked by this one. At first, the game seems like all other online games. In fact, there are even space-rats to kill in order to gain experience (its almost like a parody, actually). However, once you get into it a bit more, this is a very good and entertaining game.
For one, the game has incredible depth. Where in other games, you spend boring minutes to find your monster to kill, and then click on it to kill it in the most boring fashion, here you actually need player-skill to kill other things. Different weapons, different stands, different strategies. Although combat does depend on your character's skills, it also depends on your own skills.
And then there is a lot more than killing rats. In fact, you do not have to kill anything at all. Crafting and mining resources is quite interesting. Even things like entertainers. If you ever want to see (or be) a drunk wookie doing an erotic dance with an overweight twi'lek women, this is the game for you! I think spending time in bars and cantinas is one of my favorite things to do in this game. I don't think I ever laughed as heartily in any other video game.
Also, there just is a ton of things to do. Wanna visit Jabba's Palace? Well, you can do so (among other things you may know from the movies). You will not be able to do so right away, and even once you get there, it will take you a while to get into the inner areas of the palace. But the point is that there is a whole bunch of stuff to see that is actually worth seeing. For me, this is the first ever game where I went around sight-seeing, just because it is worth it. In fact, I actually had my character sit down for a few minutes just to watch the sunset of the dual suns of Tatooine. The sight was spectacular!
And hey, at this point I haven't even left Tatooine (my home planet in the game). In fact, I hardly left my town...
You must be aware however, that this game will take up a ton of your time! You can not run around right away and be a Jedi or any other character of high significance. At the end of the day, this is still a MMORPG.
Great Game; Beware Of Uninformed Reviews

SWG is a very addictive game. Prepare yourself to spend a large portion of your time playing this great game. Beware of poor reviews from people who are probably just frustrated because they don't read the ongoing updates to the game. First, one review says you must first master 32 professions before opening a Jedi character slot. This is only true if you are extraordinarily unlucky. The actual requirement is at to master only five of the thirty-two professions. The frustrating part is they are five random professions, so it is possible to have the horrible luck of not getting all five until your thirty second, however that is unlikely. Another claim a reviewer made was that once the jedi character slot is opened, you must create the new character on a different server. This is completely false. Those lucky enough to open the jedi slot are required to create the new jedi character on the SAME server as the character who opened it. The fact is you aren't allowed to create the jedi character on any other server. A third complaint was regarding permadeath if a jedi dies three times. This was a valid complaint until about January when permadeath was removed from the game via a patch. All these jedi complaints will not matter in two months anyway because a jedi revamp has been planned and the path to jedi will be quest based. So most people have stopped trying to master x number of professions because it will mean little when the revamp goes live, hopefully in June. The game is constantly evolving and bugs are continually being fixed. The game still has some problems, but it is a hundred times better than it was six months ago. Many changes are planned leading up to the space expansion *drool* which comes out in the fall. Check out the SWG official website for details. Also, you may check out the forums on the official website to answer a lot of questions you may have regarding the validity of the complaints in these reviews. One problem with the early bad reviews is they are time stamped in a sense. This game was pretty bad months ago, but it is getting better and better. I've been playing the game since September and still find myself logging on two to three hours a night. The game is what you make it. Choose to powerlevel and grind through professions as fast as you can, and you'll get burnt out quickly. I can't blame the comments about grinding. It really is boring and sucks. Play the game to HAVE FUN, and find the profession you enjoy the most.
Game very Exciting

This is the first online game I have ever played so yes, I have no other base comparison. There was recently a Combat Upgrade. Which the community had been begging for for two years! Yes, it is buggy right now but, by experience I know the bugs will be fixed. Everything in the Combat Upgrade was asked for by the community! And all of the bad reviews you see? They are sheep. One person did like the upgrade and suddenly that one person has hundred of people saying the SAME EXACT THING over and over.
THE GAME. Star Wars Galaxies drew me in from the day of launch. Character creation is fantastic and refinning your characters appearance in game just gets more fun. There is no end to what you can do.
Professions. You don't just pick one profession and go with that. Mix and match...have fun with it. Many crafting profession not to mention all the combat professions!
There is a TONS of things to do! And more to come with the next expansion!
I could go on and on all day but the simple fact is that the game is great. Will always have my vote and that of my husbands!
Try it for yourself! Create your own opinion! Have Fun! It is a game!
Haaa... I am imortalized as the first reviewer for Galaxies.
