Personaly, I think that the origional MGS for the PS1 is the second best game ever, and now that it is being remade with better graphics, a first person mode, and revamped cut-scenes, it lookes to be even better than before! This is a must buy!

I give this game 4/5 stars because its just a remake of the mgs for the psone. It will have a few added features like, better graphics and an all new first person mode but nothing much else. If you owned the first one then you might want to rent this one. But, if you never had an opportunity to play the original than get this one.

Having played all 5 Metal Gear Solid games including Metal Gear Solid(NES), Metal Gear Solid(PS1), MGS:VR Missions(Ps1),MGS2:Sons of Liberty(PS2), and Metal Gear Solid 2:Substance(X-Box,PS2), I must say that the playstation port was much better than the rest. With the exciting gameplay, breath-taking graphics(for the time) and enormous plot and enviroments, this game was the 2nd biggest selling PS1 game, with FF7 coming in first.
Now with the the second included, and the revamped additions, this game is worth more than its weight in gold. Though supporting a mature rating, this uses tacticul espionage to the limit. Without a doubt, Metal Gear Solid:The Twin Snakes and Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2) will bring the classic gameplay that we know and love to our consoles this fall.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance are pretty much the exact same game. The only difference is that Substance has a few extra things to do that don't have anything to do with the game. So you can't say that one is better that the other, because they are the same. But to comment on what you said about "This will dominate the PS2 series", I completely disagree with you. You notice that there is no real hype to this game, because it is all going to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. You almost never here about this game because with the other title coming out for the PS2, no one really cares about a remake of a PlayStation game. PS2 is the best system out today, and this is coming from a guy who has PS2 and XBox. Yes, XBox is the most powerful and has the best graphics, but PS2 has the best controls. And I don't know where all this is coming from that GameCube has better graphics than PS2, since GameCube is the least powerful of the three. And no, I'm not dissing GameCube, because I am thinking about buying one. But Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will be the dominate game. Just take a look at the screens and videos. Well, that's enough for now, please, no negative feedback, I only speak what is on my mind. I have nothing against GameCube. As I said before, I am definetly thinking about buying one.
Thank you,

Ok, first lets take a look at this games postive attributes. It is the first metal gear for the gamecube and its only for the gamecube, stunning graphics, ausome gameplay, great camera angles, and not very glitchy. Its bad attributes, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, well uh not alot. This game combines the great story of Metal Gear Solid and it has great graphics and gameplay such as Metal Gear Solid 2. Whoever said gamecube is the least powerful needs to get their facts straight. For one thing the ps2 has a glitch in its system that makes all the graphics shaped square, if you'd pay attention to how they're made. But don't get me wrong i love ps2s almost as it was a stepbrother to my gamecube. But anyways enough talkin trash, the game looks great and i'm excited of all the new games coming in fall. (FOR ALL SYSTEMS) And I'd probably put this game on my list. If you like metal gear solid and you have a gamecube, get it! Later.........

I will start by saying that first of all, the gamecube is the worst system in the world, and the Metal Gear Solid series is probly the best thing to happen to video games. OK.
Twin Snakes is just a copy of Metal Gear Solid (PS1) it might have a few added parts and better graphics. but it it still the same game that we all played years ago. The only reason i gave the game any stars is becasue the original game rocked. bye.

I'll start by saying this, Metal Gear rocks, no matter what system it is on. Improved grapics and better control do a lot for a game, so whoever said this is just some stupid remake needs to get their head checked.

The Metal Gear series rules, it is the coolest series ever. The gamecube is the best system Konami could choose it for, I mean, hey, X-Box got the upgraded version of MGS:Sons Of Liberty, more commonly known as Substance. I know that the PS2 also got an identical version of the game but this is where Konami started broadening their horizons. Why can't a different system get the upgraded version of the original Metal Gear Solid. Granted both games originated on the PS console, but hey, why can't there be more of a variety, freedom of choice. This is only the tip of the berg I'm afraid. The same thing will happen, maybe not with the Metal Gear series, but with other series as better more advanced systems are introduced. By the way, Gamecube and PS2 ROCK!!
A remake of one of the best games ever conceived...

.. being developed by Silicon Knights (the awesome developer of Eternal Darkness and the upcoming Too Human), Konami, and Nintendo is a guaranteed recipe for success; this is a partnership of historical proportions. We all know that the original Metal Gear Solid was an incredible game, but after MGS2--even if it may have been a huge disappointment--the play mechanics seem very outdated. A remake of the original with new features like hiding bodies in lockers, first-person aiming, etc. is more than enough incentive for every GCN-owning MGS enthusiast out there to buy this. But great new features like a totally remastered musical score (composed by the genius Steve Henefin and supervised by Konami), graphics that push the GCN--a system that is inarguably techologically superior to the PS2--to its limits (with extensive bump-mapping, shine-mapping, textures much crisper and much more detailed than those of Sons of Liberty) as well as totally reworked cutscenes and a revamped script, all elevate this title to greatness, and give even those who have conquered the original reason to buy this game.
Even though I haven't played it, I know it will be sweet.

Making this for gamecube was a great idea since the gamecube is capable of amazing graphics. after all, gamecube has the game with the best graphics out right now.(resident evil) Despite the fact that PS2's upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is rumored to have the best graphics of any game so far, Twin Snakes will have a great feel to it as a remake.
