Ok,
First let me address all you guys (and girls) who feel like you need to write a freakin' novella in order to rate a video game. There are people who GET PAID to write more than a paragraph for a game rating. We usually defer to these people, seeing as it is their JOB to play and rate. Besides, this is Amazon.com for crying out loud, not GamePro. Moving on...
Simply put, this game disappointed me. I really enjoyed the original for PS1, and the graphics were done well for this one. But I purchased this game by what I read about it. Specifically, that it was a combination of MGS and Sons of Liberty (it says that on the back of the game, too). What they mean by this statement is that it's the original MGS with SoL graphics, gameplay, and platform interaction. It's the same old MGS. If I had known that, I would have saved my money and plugged in my old PS1. I thought I was getting two games in one.
Live, learn, rent first.
yo this game is better then metal gear solid 2 subtance!

This is a remake and is a mixed bag compared to the masterpiece of the PSX one, sure it looks better and plays a bit better its still clunky in controls the new dialog is..well...so so but what I hate the most is the music....they took a wonderful score and raped and battered it to match modern crap cinma.
Don't get me wrong its a solid game and the gameplay is a improvement but the first game had more charm..
Pre-order it, it's metal gear (only way much better)

Metal Gear Solid for PSX was some sort of "GTAIII" for ps2, the game itself is great in the old console, now we can see thing masterpiece with latest graphics and updated sound and gameplay, forget about Sons of liberty (common backstreetboy-Rayden? Jack and Rose? that's for sissies), rememeber sniper wolf and the most intriging relationship (almost epic): the twins snakes (solid and liquid). Preorder this game now, and Nintendo will raise again. If this game sells the million copies every thid-party will start doing games for the big-N like old times. Snakes fans: this it THE GAME
Even though I haven't played it, I know it will be sweet.

Making this for gamecube was a great idea since the gamecube is capable of amazing graphics. after all, gamecube has the game with the best graphics out right now.(resident evil) Despite the fact that PS2's upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is rumored to have the best graphics of any game so far, Twin Snakes will have a great feel to it as a remake.
It's Coming Only For Nintendo Gamecube

Everyone who knows how much gaming companies screw over the Gamecube, might have one less company to think of doing that,Konami. Konami hasn't supported the Gamecube yet with anything, but at E3 last year they dropped a bombshell Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes which is a remake of the million hit seller for the old Playstation. The game is going to be revamped and brought back to life but in a new look. The game has new features, graphics, sounds, and the same voicework as the original but redone cutscenes so you wont hear those same lines as you did before. After seeing videos, a preview and then seeing the game in action I can say this will beat any Metal Gear Solid game out there. Lets make this game look good for Konami and pre-order it. We'll make her sell over a million copies and then startle every gaming publisher, into supporting the Gamecube. Yeah this is going to be good.
Long on story short on fun

The Solid Snake game series had a reputation among my PlayStation friends that for years made me jealous. But when I heard that there would finally be a version for the GC I was so excited that I pre-order the game. After having played and won the game, however, I really have to wonder what the hype was all about. In terms of graphics, this is probably on the best games for the GC but the game play is almost nonexistent for a game that requires 2 discs. Fully two-thirds of the game is given over to cut scenes that last as long as 8-10 minutes and are horrible written. The overall plot line for the game is interesting and does have some very clever interactive moments but, the scenes you have to suffer through to understand what's going on are down right embarrassing. The controls are awkward and I never became comfortable with the game play.
If you want to watch a bad movie, buy this game. If you are actually interested in playing a game, I say look somewhere else.
Please don't waste your money on this game

I purchased MGS for GameCube and wish I hadn't. If you removed the laboriously long cut scenes there's actually very little game here. I get the impression Hideo wanted to make a film but could only get a job directing a video game and decided to make a film anyway.
The controls and camera are very cumbersome and the bad guys always see you before you can see them. The weapons are very standard - no imagination there. I would have given the game three stars if not for two ridiculous features I've found that totally spoil it. I think Hideo has a crappy sense of humor.
First, there's a spot early in the game where one of the characters tells you to use a radio frequency 'on the back of the package'. I went through the whole game again trying to find the package he was refering to. It turns out he's refering to the package the game came in! Talk about less than total immersion!
Second was one of the bosses who can only be hurt if you use controller three. What the **** it this ****?
One star and I'm being generous. If I ever see Hideo's name on another video game I'm going to run a mile.
This game sucks snakes

I bought this game today and ten minutes later I was completely sick of it. The graphics are okay; the game play is straight out of 1995. I might have been impressed by this game ten years ago, but by to days standards it's weak! You have no control what so ever of the angles you view the game from, making the left control stick useless. This game's idea of stealth is hiding in a freaking locker while guard pass by. There's really no shadowing or anything to hide in. It's more movie and corny dialogue than game play. Don't believe all the phony hype surrounding this game; it's not the best game of the year. If you are a fan of the first MGS go ahead and buy it, if you're looking for a game like 'splinter cell' save your money. I wouldn't even accept this game as a gift.
it didnt work
