Wow, eversince I heard of there being a new Zelda game I was all over the web, searching for even the tiniest info about the upcoming game. I finially found what I was looking for and the grafics look great from what has been shown to me and the story-line seems okay...but the only thing that troubles me is that...SINCE WHEN DID LINK HAVE A SISTER!!! Hopefully there will be an explination...maybe.

Zelda is finally here for Gamecube! Don't let the looks fool you. This is probally going to be the best Zelda game. You can also hook up you Gameboy. Also, some stores are including a special disk featuring Ocarina of Time and a more difficult version of it. I hope amazon will have this offer too. This game will be a must have.
A great Zelda game, but not the best...

Yes, it is indeed another wonderful Zelda game. There are dungeon mazes, new characters (including Zelda, who comes in later on), a race to save the world from evil, and our lovable main character, Link.
**This is what is different**:
Link is still a child and the chibi-ish animation is weird.
You can travel a vast world on your boat (once you get a sail) and meet dozens of inhabitants of various islands.
You gradually get treasure maps, which are difficult to come but but mostly worth the effort.
Various people will send you on little mini quests to find certain items for them.
There is a post service, which means there is a post box on most islands and sometimes you can send letters for people.
There is a traveling salesman whose boat is located in most sections so you can easily replenish your arrows, bombs, or hearts.
Hyrule is a very different place, as you'll find out. In time, you'll acquire the master sword and speak with the king about Ganon, who is the all around bad guy of the game.
It takes a while, but it's fun and well worth it (especially if you have patience). It may not be the traditional Zelda game, but it doesn't fall very short of it.
THE BESTEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if ur a huge fan of zelda and link, lik me, this is definately a great game.2 start out with, u live on outset island as a little boy-u decided what ur name is. its ur 12th b-day, and ur sister, aryll, gives u her FAVORITE item, a telescope. u use it and u c a rito postman. then u look up and-O MY GOD! IT'S A GIANT BIRD WITH A KID IN ITS CLAWS! then u c a pirate ship shooting at it. the bird is shot and drops the girl on a summit. ur sister, all worried, tells u 2 go help her. BUT FIRST, u MUST go to the old swordsman's place, orka. fight with him and u win a sword. then go climb up the mountain and save the girl.
once u finish hacking thru the foliage and slaying the forest monsters, she falls 2 the ground and a pirate guy runs up all worried. the girl is tetra, and she is a pirate. well, when the 3 of u go back outside, aryll, on the other side of the bridge, waves 2 u and starts running over. but the bird who kiddnapped tetra sees aryll and grabs her, thinkin she's tetra. afterward, u get ur grandma's shield and demand 2 go with the pirates 2 the forsaken fortress, where ur sister is being held.
this game had me on the edge of the sofa, and my eyes were always two inches from the screen. its a really addictive game-lightvs.dark and all that. u learn new sword techiniques and find a boat who talks called the king of red lions, and a wand called the wind waker which lets u do many things. (4 instance, control the wind's direction, which is the first spell u learn.)
this game is 2 good 4 rental. u have 2 buy it, even if u aren't a link fan, u'll come 2 love it. happy gaming!

I've always been the mario person and always will be but I noticed myself playing only mario over the years. Well I decided to start playing other games alot of other games and this one stood out to me. I'm glad I bought this one it is very very good and it's very fun. This game has alot of gameplay in it. If you like really really long games this one is for you. The storyline is also great. The graphics are good but could have been alittle better but still very good. Of course there is violence in it but i'd say kids would definatly be into it just like adults. My 4 year old nephew watches me play all the time and he even helps me out at times while watching. He's the type that could sit in front of any video game all day long even if it's watching you play or playing himself. This game I would have to say it is at the top of my list and it's a great thinking game. Awesome game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Truly Superb

My only complaint this game is that sometimes the sailing could be a bit tedious, but overall I loved it... The battles and secrets to uncover were amazing. This game alone would be reason enough to buy a gamecube!
Awesome, but gets tough to beat higher levels

My whole family enjoys this game. My kids love to play their own games but have the most fun watching and interacting with their Dad when he plays.
Yet another Zelda game where you can't play as Zelda

What's so legendary about being a helpless princess who keeps having to be rescued? Anyway -- seeing as how my first review of this game was little or no help at all, I'm going to try again.
Once again, you play as a young adventurer named Link or whatever name you give him. You're out on a quest to find your little sister, Aryl, after she is abducted by a dragon/bird. The controls are almost identical to The Ocarina of Time:
A=Action
B=Attack
X=Item 3
Y=Item 1
Z=Item 2
L=Strafe/Target
R=Block
C=Camera
Control-Stick=Movement
CrossPad=um...map, I think
Those are the ground controls. The controls for your raft are similar.
Being a self-proclaimed feminist, I have trouble with the sexism involved in the story: Link is only trained by the elders because he is male, the same gender as the "legendary hero" from the Ocarina of Time. If you're not stung by political falacies, this probably won't bother you as much as it does me.
...moving on...
Wind Waker recieves only 3 stars because it's essentially a rehash of Ocarina of Time with new graphics and a slightly different story. I don't really see any point in owning this title unless you are a die-hard Zelda fan. If you're more into Zelda herself, try Super Smash Bros Melee or some of those CD-i video games.
