This is the greatest Zelda game EVER!It is superior to almost every Zelda game before it(excluding Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past)The graphics are beautiful and cool. The story is epic.It centers around Link,a young boy from a small island, searching for his sister Aryll, who has been kidnapped by a giant bird.Along the way he meets a talking boat,a gang of pirates, and even Princess Zelda. He also searches for a long lost treasure and discovers a land beneath the sea.I loved the dungeons and the bosses[especially the giant worm].And I adored sailing in the game. But this game is not perfect. For one thing the enemies aren't hard. And sailing gets tedious(towards the end anyway).Plus the final boss is way too easy(although he is a wicked cool boss ).But you forget about all that once you face the challenge of the game.It took me five months to complete. And I'm still working on the sidequests. If you have a Gamecube get this game. You will be happy you did.

This is my son's review:
Ok,I think this is the best Zelda game made so far. I started out with this one; after that, I was hooked for life. I've beaten this game 5 times in 2 years, it's that good. It's long, fun, and the graphics are great! Well, it's not Crysis but they're still good. I highly recommend that you buy this game. You'll love it!
WOW!!!!:)

If you are a diehard Zelda fan, this game is a major disappointment. The graphics are poor and much too of a cartoon effect than any of the previous games. The game lacks the delightful and challenging puzzles we had to solve in previous Zelda versions. This game may be great for kids (my grandson has nearly solved it), but for those of us who enjoy a challenging game, this game is not anywhere close to the caliber of the previous Zelda games we have come to enjoy. For gamers looking for a challenging game, look further than Wind Waker.
Can somebody say OVERRATED?

Before you skip this review just because "I don't like the graphics", let me tell you my smallest gripe with the Legend of Zelda: The Wind waker is the graphics.
First of all, the gameplay is similar to Ocarina of Time, and it could've stayed the same way. But no, Nintendo had to switch to this new "stealth"...Now, before you get all exicted that "Zelda's going to play like Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell!", let me tell you a little something: It doesn't. Instead, I'm treated to sitting in a barrel next to a guard that will sometimes stop for no reason to sniff his spear and waiting for hours on end to get to the end of a 3-foot area of land. BO-RING.
The bottom line is, WW just isn't as fun as it should be...
Disappointing.

I'm one of the biggest fans of Ocarina of Time on the planet Earth. I loved EVERYTHING about Ocarina, and it's followup, Majora's Mask. So obviously, I was highly anticipating The Wind Waker, the third Zelda game to go 3-D.
It starts off decent enough, and the first three dungeons are pretty satisfying, and the cel-shaded graphics are extremely well done, even if you prefer realistic presentations. Technically, they're brilliant.
After the first three dungeons, however, it becomes evident that the game was rushed. The next two go from decent to horrible (not to mention that I didn't die ONCE in the whole game, it's that easy), and after that you're sent on a fetch-quest all over the oceanic world, which by the way is FAR too large for its own good.
Keep in mind that as a game, it's not terrible. But as a successor to Ocarina of Time, it just doesn't hold up for me. The dungeons aren't anywhere near as good, the overworld is too large, the game is too humorous for something like this, and there is no real sense of accomplishment: Ooh, I solved this extra puzzle that I didn't have to, what do I get!?!?!...
Oh...it's...a...necklace...great.
It's good, but it's not worth [the money]if you ask me.
Well... um... it's Zelda... right?

This game fell way below any of ther other games. Easily, without even putting up a fight. It just lacked everything cool about zelda, minus the sword-toting Kokari with a cool hat. First of all, the graphics are [not good]. It was not nessicary to limit it to flat edges. That's not what we're looking for. Second of all, it lacks any of the mysterious, ever-changing story of The other Zelda Games. Think back to Zelda for Gameboy (I played DX) You spent the entire time gathering instruments to wake the windfish. Did you know what the windfish was? No. Did you really want to find out? Yes. And then the whole thing turned out to be a dream. Great, huh? And the OoT. THe same, great storyline. Even Majora's mask, after making so many other Zelda's, it still has that origional tale that keeps you going. But this last one, it's not as deep or mysterious. It's same old, same old. Nothing new. The boat, maybe, but that's it. And now to the Baton. Does it get any worse? When did they realize that a baton makes no sound? And that music is conducted according to the Time Signature? Duh! Complete idocy. This ends up being a completly pointless game. Just play Ocarina of Time again, it's more fun to re-play than even start this dull, unorigional re-run of a game.
mario is better

Alright, let me start off by saying that I absolutely loved Ocarina of Time. It was one of the best games I have ever played. But what happened here? Its like a wanna be paper Mario, or something. The new graphics all the magazines claim are "revalutionary" are really really sad. The puzzles and stuff in Wind Waker borrow too much from OOT. They basically took the old ones and stuck them here in the hopes that noone would notice they are the same. The fighting is all right, but it wasn't as satisfying as previous titles.
Overall, its not that bad of a game. Its zelda, so its got to have some value. However, it just wasn't the old run around with Link and kick butt feeling. It was more of a ride a boat with a geek and hit people with a stick feeling. Rent it, don't buy it. That's my final advice.

Zelda games are great, full of sword-slashing, blowing up stuff, jumping around, cutting cuccos and waiting for them to attack you. If you played the n64 one, you should get this one too. If you don't want to play this one, whip out your n64 and start playing it.
