Zelda is the most over rated game series ever made. And Wind Waker is the worst Zelda game made. First of all i will just start talking about how bad the graphics are. What we are looking at here are 2D Pixel Shaded Graphics. I can possibly understand these graphics for a racing game, or possibly a fighting game. BUT NOT AN ADVENTURE GAME. Yes Ocarina of time was OK, but not good enough to save this series. Wind Waker completly destroyed it. Link looks and talks like a complete loser. But you may say graphics arent everything. I can agree with that SOMETIMES, but when they are as horrific as these, i cant even play the game. Now the story and gameplay. Can u hit Z and press the A button multiple times? Well then you can beat Zelda Wind Waker. The game is meant for kids, no doubt about that. There is a talking Ship FFS. What is going on here nintendo?!?! I think you get my point on why windwaker sucks. The main things are that the graphics suck, and the game is easy, boring, and just plain stupid.

Can you wait

Let's face it, this game will rock. It adds a whole new interface to the zelda series, and will be wanted all over the world. As link travels the world in search for his lost sister, he fight huge boosses/baddies, and travels through large 3D worlds. It is worth the wait, and i suggest you reserve your copy today!

Very enjoyable!

I have been a fan of Zelda since the game first came out for the NES and I have been addicted to the series ever since. Wind Waker has been a very challenging game for me to play for I still have flashbacks to the original Zelda where play was more two demensional. The cartoonish graphics took a little getting used to and the challenges are fun (even if there is one that is quite aggravating to me).

I am really enjoying this game.

wow what a game...

of course we all know that it is one of the handful of games that has been given a perfect rating by famitsu of japan. it is a wondrous game; it's hard to understand where the people who don't dig the cel-look are coming from....it's just an amazing looking game and the gameplay is just as great. a true must-have game.

The best Zelda so far

I have played most Zelda games and this is the best so far. The only tedious part is that you do so much sailing around and there are so many submarines you have to sink. However, you don't have to do everything in order. There are simultaneous quests and you can choose what to do at any time.

Anyway, as I left off, Link watches his sis getting kidnapped and tries to save her. He jumps but Tetra (the girl) grabs on to him. His grandma gives him a sheild and he sails off with the pirates. They soon reach Forsaken Fortress where his sister is placed. The pirates shoot him out of the cannon and loses his sword. You'll need to get your sheild ready, cause you've got a long way to go. For more info go to my guide on this. My appoliges to make you jump all over the place.
Sincerly,
Sfmf

When someone first saw trailers for the new zelda game, you saw what was said to be beautiful graphics and a hype of an fmv.

i never saw those fmvs. all i saw was one or two pics in Tips and Tricks.
i had never played OoT, i had only played Link's Awakening (the non-color one) on the GB and i was horrible at it.
i had tried playing Zelda II at a older friend's house.
while waiting for this new Zelda to come out, i rented OoT for my N64.
simply put, i hated it. it wasnt easy to pick up for someone who barely plays video games, the graphics sucked, even at that time. and the music frequently got on my nerves.
then when the gamecube game out, i got it that christmas. i was jaw dropped at how well designed SSBM was, and i (later) was in for a suprise when WW came out as well. please note, i had played alot of games and own alot of NGC games before i ever played WW. also keep in mind, that i played ALttP and replayed WW since ive written this.

i will admit, i too hated the graphics of Wind Waker when i first saw it. i kind of liked it, but i had convinced myself that the graphics were horrible. but being as how i wanted to give WW a try after a while since i could own Master Quest and OoT. so i preordered it, and got the Preorder disk a month before i ever got Wind Waker. So i tried that game again, and i still didnt like it.

Then the WW day arrived. i ripped it open popped the disk in and my jaw and head dropped. i didnt have the internet, so i couldnt watch trailers, but i was amazed for a second time. i started to play it, and after a while i realized i had played for hours.

this game is so intensely graphical, that anyone that says the "Graphics suck" seriously needs to get their eyes checked. this game is one of the top games to push the console's top. while not Oblivion, this game is intensive. little swirls on the water (which was animated beautifully), the flying birds, the rain and the clouds, the fire, (which pops and swirls), the hights, the animation, the remarks link makes with his face to things that happen. the fact that he looks at whatever is around him, or which way you should go, as if the game is giving you hints, how he looks amazed at things that happen, its like you are playing an anime!

now im going to turn away from the most LEAST important aspect of ANY game (i wonder what i just mentioned >_< ) and turn to the next least important.

The sound in this game is very top notch. they used the same "style" as others, and kept the same feel as the other zelda games. i dont think the point with this series was to make it any different, mostly out of fear that dumbasses would hate the graphics. however, i read on Amazon.com someone said that the opening song is a horrible midi file and not even zelda. it IS a little different, but its still just a song. and btw, its a irish type of jig music, according to some that ive heard. anyways, it never got on my nerves, and i loved it for all its worth.

now for gameplay, the only problem i had here was the camera angles when i was taking out those blue floating skulls, it blocked my vision from others coming to trample on me, and make it so i couldn't attack. the only good thing about the new zelda is the fact that its now over the shoulder, and that would kill any complaints i have about it.
also, some have told me that the game is too hard or too easy. for someone that gets turned away if i cant beat something, i actually beat it. Thrice times. some say it was too short or too long. i beat the game at about 30 hours...but thats if you want all the hearts and if you want all the hidden tresures, its alot longer.
now to turn to that, some say the worst part of the game is the fact that it takes so long to get anywhere in the game. this is slightly true, but its more of the fact that they didnt want to use the wand to warp them to a place that is close, then boat there, which would be much quicker. are they the same people that complain about oblivion taking too long to get anywhere if you dont Fast Travel or use a Horse? get some guts and do it you pansies. other than those issues that came up. i had absolutely no problem with the game. okay so it didnt have voice acting. if it did, people would just bitch about the bad voice acting or how they didnt like it. Miyamoto said he never will do that because he wants you to play the character of Link as if it was you, not the other way around.

i give this game a 10 out of 10.

Let me just say that there are several problems with this game. First off the graphics sure the cel shading is nice but the character design just doesnt impress me, they look like little cabbage patch dolls or something of that nature. The enviroments themselves are great (except for the water which should have been realistic and transperant the same as mario sunshine, instead they opted for solid blue water which just isn't very pretty to look at). The story isn't very interesting either neither are much of the things you encounter in this game. I would reccomend Zelda ocarina of time for N64 over this game any day and I encourage you not to buy this game. Why give nintendo money when they're just gonna bring out more crap like this. Give your money to microsoft or sony instead, you'll be happy you did. Another complaint is when your sailing around in this game, unless you keep an eye on your compass at all times, you tend to drift in different directions adding to the confusion the blue water makes every direction look the same. Trying to sail around and collect items is frustrating. They better fix all these mistakes before the next zelda game is released and it appears they will the new game will feature non-cel shaded graphics (thank goodness) and a world that is much more similiar to that of the one found in ocarina of time. My suggestion, wait for the new zelda this fall and don't spend your money on this.

Pathetic and unworthy of the name "Legend of Zelda."

When I saw screenshots for this game prior to its release I was up in arms, as were many people, and ready to avoid this game like the plague. Unfortunately, many people seem (for some unknown reason) to have been won over by the game after its release; I, however, found the disappointment of playing this game to be exactly commensurate with my expectations.

I decided to give the game an honest chance; I thought, "Just look at it as Ocarina of Time with different graphics and different levels." Sadly, the only thing carried over from OoT were the horrible controls (funny how technology advances and Nintendo still can't manage to achieve correspondence between controller inputs and character actions; oh well...), though one could stretch a point and say that OoT did introduce gratuitously bizarre new elements to the Zelda world (the Goron race comes to mind), but TWW takes this to such an extreme that I cannot forgive it for its eccentricities as I did OoT.

TWW is boring and embarrassing. Boring because the story has virtually no connection to the prior Zelda games, so the hardcore fan really has to make a mental leap to even consider this as continuous with the other games. Boring also because the game starts out with sheer tedium; it took what seemed like forever to get the sword, only to lose it in the first level. And the game actually starts out with a Gerudo Fortress-like level where one must evade detection. One would think that Shiggy would start the game out with the most fun and pleasant puzzles he possibly could, to encourage immersion in the game before challenging the gamer's patience, but the worst trials of my patience came right at the beginning of the game.

The game is embarrassing because it is extremely immature in a way reminiscient of Majora's Mask. I'm not sure if it's just the way the Japanese design games, but the bizarre childish characters and graphics were very off-putting. While I'm on the subject, the graphics are terrible. There is no sense that this is a Zelda game; it's a cartoon. There is certainly no sense of darkness in the game either, something every Zelda game before this has had. The game is very lighthearted and giddy and yet tedious. Excellent combination for boring me to death.

I kept playing, hoping for a break to the boredom, but it never came. I stopped playing this game and have no intention of coming back to it. Adventure of Link was good enough as a game that I finished it, but this game is just terrible. Stay away unless you want to be a Miyamoto-barning fanboy.
