Having played and loved every Sims expansion introduced by Maxis, I was overjoyed when I finally got to play The Sims Online. For fans of the series who would enjoy a new social dimension to their game, it is a must have title!
The fun in this game is in building and sharing your online home or business with other players, and in gaining new animated actions your sim can learn to perform. In no other online game have I seen people build a house that looks like the starship Enterprise, complete with transporters, science stations, and a viewscreen. Still other players have created their own Sims versions of The Dating Game, or the tv show "Survivor".
Anti-social personalities will not enjoy this game. It's not designed for solo-play, otherwise why have it online!? The focus is on building friendships and relationships with other sims, and the possibilities presented by the Sims environment are limitless!
People sometimes miss the point of some time-consuming activities that exist in the game. They are meant to give you an opportunity to socialize with other players while earning new abilities for your sim over time. The point of Sims Online is not mindless, neverending character advancement as in some multiplayer online role-playing games like EQ and others.
What Sims Online really represents is an exciting and fun way for people to game and socialize together in a more articulated and personal environment than a bland and vacuous chat room.
How much fun is this?

I love this game. It is so much fun interacting with other people. I have met so many "people" thorough Sim's online. You never know what to expect!
I have all the other sim's games and this one has out done them all.

TSO is the best online game. You hear all these other reviews on how the game blows or how it sucks well it doesnt. These other reviews havent explained enough of wht you can do on the game what so ever. All they explain is how you talk, yea big deal. Trust me this is coming from a VG expert here... TSO is more than just a giant chat room. Yes, there is way more. You control about up to three sims on one account and four on a betaville server. BTW, betaville is one of the cities you can play yet it gives you freedom and lets you control four sims all at once! TSO offers you to get jobs and actually see them work and do the work. You can also get money and prizes, play games, get married, do a lot of things you could do on the old sims games. There are some pros and cons on the game though...
PROS: 1. Get to choose from four jobs and see them work
2. The number of cities to play on and the number of people to meet!
3. You can be a roomie with someone else or make a house of your own and make it sweet!!
4. The game is addicting and you'll spend endless hours playing
5. TSO has some live radio stations broadcasting music and you can make requests!
6. the best online game ever!
CONS: 1. there is an object limit of 100 when u build a house which sucks.
2. EA does maintenance on the game each morning around 7 or 8 o clock eastern standard time which sucks because the cities shut down.
3. Some objects on the game can be quite pricy
4. Skilling to build up your skills to make more money can take a long while to do.
Well thats it, i didnt explain much since i want you to find out on your own so... go out and buy the sims online, ill b waiting for you, BTW, my sim's name is "Jim Goth"
Almost didn't buy it because of these reviews

After seeing how many people scored this game with one star, I almost didn't buy The Sims Online. Luckily, I was at Best Buy after having a bit too much coffee to drink and made an impulse decision to purchase it. I installed it with no problem on my Dell and after the initial long patching process, I have had excellent performance even through AOL dial-up. I truly enjoy this game and have trouble understanding why everyone has rated it so harshly. The game-play can be slow when you are building skills, but the people make it interesting by chatting, IMing, doing tarot readings etc. There are fun contests and games and the new Sim interactions are hilarious. I find this game to be extremely relaxing and am amazed at how many hours can go by while I play without me even noticing. Last night I missed the oil man coming to the house and ringing the doorbell because I was in the middle of making an online Pizza and didn't want to let the team down. This is a good game. The people in the game are nice and often intelligent. It's a good experience. I recommend trying it out.
Awesome Addicting Game!

The Sims Online is fantastic! Not only am I having a blast I have made so many new friends! I highly recommend this game to any Sims fanatic and anyone that is sick of trying to roleplay in the MMORPGs that are out. The Sims Online allows you to be whoever you want the possibilities are endless. The cities I have tried are all unique from each other and have their own personalities just like real life. Maxis is doing a great job at listening to what we want in the game...

It is a good game and keeps you occupied for hours. If you get bored with one family you can change it so that you have loads of different ones to play with. You can also make your own sims and choose their personality if you want to be original. Some sims are interesting and will get married and have babies but some are boring and are always depressed. It is a good game with thumbs up!

Now you may read tones of negative reviews which are written by people who have either not played the game or have not played it in a year. The Fact of the Matter the Game is great and progressing at the fastest Pace in the Online Gaming world which is being overlooked because of negative reviews by people who have never played the game and have judged it as bad. It is a great game there is no better online game I have played them all and this is the only one that I give a tumbs up to! All you Europeans buy it if you can you know it is great Americans too. Whith Jobs and Pets it is as or more advanced than the normal the sims. You can actually goto work (the thing that so many wanted in The Sims) and do the job! What more can you ask for coupled with your favourite friends from unleashed!
Fun at first...addicting yes..but is it worth the $$?

-I thought that this game was really entertaining at first and thougt i was having fun. As everyone's already heard.. it takes FOREVER for your character to build its skills. I sat here for hrs watching my Sim study...and somewhat chatted with other people. Then it just got boring...i'd go AFK and do other stuff and just leave the program on.BTW you get kicked off if your idle for too long. It probably wouldnt take that long to build up enough skills..i'd say a month or 2. Then after that your character will probably just host their home for others who want to build up skill. I's say those are the only two things you can really do.
-EA could also try and make teh game faster. It lags a lot and the Final version of TSO..(the retail i'm guessing) isnt much better than when the test first came out.
-I want to keep playing..just because i have the "founder" lable and the "simmy" they give 2 founders BUT i felt that the ... per month charge would not be worth it. Its [costly] for the game THEN [the price] a month just 2 keep playing!?!?! EA should just raise the price for the game a little and get rid of the monthly fees. A lot more people would stay in the game if they did. I know i would. In the future if that happens i'd probably buy the game.
-If you really like the game (play testers) and are willing to pay the fees i'd say go ahead and buy.
-For people that have not tried the play test..you'll either be dissapointed or happy about your purchase. Find someone else that already has the game and try it out first and decide if its worth all that money.
-oh BTW all the original Sim games is worth your money than this game for now.
Sims are they online or will people pull the plug

I think it is a good game i am 13 and think it is a good way for people who have trobble making friends offline the game has good graphics and has endless possibilitys and fun for kids & adults alike the game has a tendancy to run a bit slow but it does have alot of content the good thing about this is there are hundreds of sims to meet and in this you can run a buissness which is a major bonus
in short it is a good game
with only 1 fault in my opinion of running quite slow

Wow. This game is incrediably horrible. First of all, Why should you have to pay $10.00 monthly.
Why do they make us? Because they want to waste our money.
1. The game comes with MANY MANY bugs, I played the beta, and after the beta, there was many bugs.
2. All the towns are down all the time, none of them are on, once, I got on, and NO towns were open.
Now, sure it's up to you, but, what I think is....Why should you have to pay $10 for this game? I remember when it was $50.00 to buy, and then $10.00 monthly, christ, thats a lot of money!
Anyways, Surely, Its up to you, but think about it, why pay that when you can just buy the sims and do one of those online programs, there are some, i believe.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!
Buy Half-Life, or Half-Life: Counterstrike, or Half-Life: Condition Zero. Those games are you're types of games!
