I first played this game as a recommendation from a friend, and I wish to pass the same thoughts on to everyone else! It's got to be the very best GBA game I will ever play! The plot was spectacular, with only one major con to the main gameplay. There were WAY too many long speeches, and they were WAY too long. But besides that, it's an amazing game.

Words can't describe this game!

Okay, so maybe words can describe GS. Golden Sun is THE best game on the GBA (or, at the very least, in league with Advance Wars).

The sound is so good, you'll wonder how they were able to fit an orchestra into that itty-bitty cartrige! To add some more "realistic" feel, the characters talk! (Er, squeek for that matter.)

The Psynergy/Djinn system isn't too confusing, but guess what? It enhances your stats, ables you do different spells, and even changes your class!
And that's only to explain them together!
Djinn can also be used to summon mystical beings to deliver major ouch to your foes; and they also have their own unique abilities that'll aid you in battle! (i.e.: heal party members, inflict poisonous venom, produce a protective aura, etc.)
Now to Psynergy. Besides having almost the same abilities as the djinn (though the djinn doesn't cost psynergy points, they could tire and would take a while to recover), they would also be used on the overworld to solve puzzles, meaning some powers would have to be accessed by the psynergy/djinn system.
Importantly, these would lead to your own advantage depending on your strategy.

Yes, the lifespan is somewhat short for RPG pros, but that's only to describe the GAME (what, you wouldn't expect a final fantasy length game to fit on that li'l cartridge, right? Oh wait, Final Fantasy Tactics is comin'...). That's when you speed through; though there're a few hidden bosses and djinn... Yes and no questions only?! (Funny; Isaac only seems to respond "Yes" or "No" or rarely "!!!!", when in the 2nd game, he'll probably gab away when Felix is the silent one... ^^;) This when it gets interesting, adding replay value because the entire game would often revolve upon your answer (if you try to be humorous, people would be likely to respond interestingly...
i.e.:
["Dying" Man: Do you think I'm gonna die?
Isaac: No
"Dying" Man: Oh-- wait. I feel kinda strange. Hey! ::gets up:: I feel better already! ::runs off::
Garet & Isaac: --; ])

Maybe the plot is somewhat close to being called cliche, but the characters are what add to the background of this game:
Ivan's origin
The "mysterious" Sheba
Why Felix wants to light the lighthouses
..and lotsa more!
The storyline is yet to continue with it's absorbing plot (though, the cinema scenes would sometimes be WAY too long for those who would rather save their game after a major boss battle with limited battery-power left) in Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age!

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!!!

Really Great Game

Golden Sun is an astonishing game. it's fun, addictive, and gorgeous. The only complaint i have is the random battles. It's hard to proceed in the game without your party being weakned by all the attacks. But that's only minor, you should really buy this game.

This game seemed short to me (33 hours to beat) but I had to beat it again, costing me another 15 hours. I've spent 48 hours on this game.
That's pretty good.
This game probably was censored from the Japanese version-everything is. Japan doesn't really filter anything for their children. There was nothing wrong with it. It deserved the E rating unless you're one of those freaky overprotective mothers who doesn't want their child to see a sword in motion. (There is no cut, wound or blood shown. They just fall back, and dissolve when slain.)
It is worth your cash.

THIS GAME IS TIGHT!...

Best GBA Game of 2001

Yes, Castlevania was great. So is Advance Wars. But Golden Sun just edges these two out for my favorite game of 2001.

I've logged 20 hours and it still manages to surprise me. Gaining new abilities, summons and weapons keeps the game fresh and fun all the time. The balance of battles/puzzles/exploring is perfect. Graphics are the best on GBA I've seen. I showed it to one friend, who immediately went out and bought it. And just wait till you play it with headphones...the sound is amazing.

I've played a little Final Fantasy, but this the first RPG I've invested this much time in (I usually get caught up in sports and racing titles). Mainly because its one of those games you'll think about when you're not playing it. Its just that addictive.

I am a big fan of RPG's and ever since I bought a GBA, I wanted to see a SNES RPG port to the GBA and I got something even better. I love how Golden Sun is just like a classic RPG in every way. It has the great beginning, awsome battle system, great story line, great characters and most of all great graphics, it has the best graphics of any GBA game. The challenge level is just right and it also throws in some puzzles throughout the dungeons. The bosses are awsome.

If you love RPG's and you have a GBA, go get this NOW!!!!

I only have a few things to say about this game. IT IS AWSOME. IT IS NO DOUBT THE BEST GAMEBOY ADVANCE GAME EVER. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THIS GAME GO OUT AND BUY IT. ONCE YOU BEAT THE GAME (OR WHENEVER YOU WANT)YOU CAN GO TO BATTLE MODE AND FIGHT RANDOM BATTLES. YOU HAVE ALMOST INFANT POSSIBILITIES OF CLASS, INCLUDING SAMURI, NINJA, LORD, CHAMPION, PARAGON, MAGISTER, BARBARIAN, AND MORE. THIS GAME IS THE BEST GAME EVER KNOWN TO MAND KIND. THE PSYENGERY IS ALMOST LIMITLESS. THE SPECAL MOVES WITH REGULAR WEAPONS ARE AWSOME. BUT LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE DJINN ARE AWSOME, BOTH SUMMONS ATTACKS WITH THEM.

I loved this game! True, it only took me a week to finish and I didn't need a hint book, but sometimes it's nice to play a straight-forward game. I like a turn based battle system and the ability to save at any time. This game is great for playing during commercial breaks or when you can't commit several hours in a block since it doesn't require your complete attention at all times. The story is fun and the characters are very likeable. I actually missed them when I finished. The game cuts off in the middle of the story, though. I wonder how they'll do the second half. The graphics were great and I love the Djinn. The puzzles were just easy enough to do in your head, but tough enough to be a challenge that way. By all means do the side quests and try to find all 28 Djinn, it's more fun that way. I didn't have to spend all of my time leveling either, just playing the game gave me all the experience I needed. Basically, it had nothing that usually annoys me about RPGs and thats enough for me.
