Ok, reading some of the other reviews, some people are comparing it to the original or to some other game or expecting it to be something it isn't. Those people have no idea what they're talking about. This game is simply brilliant. But a warning is to be issued, a certain level of patience is required as well as a taste for tactical RPGs. If you've played the original or Tactics Ogre, prepare for something similar with a few twists.
Graphics 5/5
The graphics are colourful, wonderful, crisp and clear. Great looking game.
Sound 4/5
Sound is nice and clear, except some get repeated over and over and that gets annoying.
Music 4/5
The music that is there is simple wonderful, unfortunately there isn't much music there, only a few tracks but it's still a colourful soundtrack.
Gameplay 5/5
Alright, so it's pretty basic, in battles characters get there turn according to their speed. Fastest character goes first and so on. World map movement is simple point and click. Where it gets original is in the law system. Never seen one like this. It's unique and fun, and forces you to think creatively within boundaries and create unique strategies or you can just cancel out the laws with those cards...Battles are fun, fast paced for a tactical RPG but otherwise they're sluggish taking a minimum of 10 minutes to complete. The gameplay is fun and addictive.
Story 4/5 and Sidequests 4/5
The story is unique, but has a fairy tale ending and takes some interesting twists once in a while. Problem is, the story can be very short if you play the story missions one after another in a row. I beat the last boss which was level 36 and Marche was only level 23, then I realized the game was over and I had only completed 141 missions out of the 300. There are more sidequests than u can shake a stick at BUT unfortunately the majority are boring dispatch missions where you send out ONE unit and must wait a little while, then unit comes back either having failed or succeeded, no battle involved. Some sidequests displace the story a bit as they actually happen after the last boss, so it disrupts the story. Nonetheless plenty here to keep you busy.
Final Verdict
A must have for any tactical RPG fan or FF fan willing to play something different. Addictive, it will keep you busy for HOURS. I've played 47 hours and have only completed 168 of the 300 missions. This one will keep you busy for a while and is quite addictive and fun, go out and purchase a copy now.
This game is great!

For all of you prospecting buyers, this game is an excellent buy. Those who gave it a bad review above have no idea what they are talking about...FFTA is not a traditional RPG like FF7,8,9,10, and so on, it is a Strategy-RPG. The battles may be long, but they are supposed to be...it is strategy intensive-you have to think before you act, and the law system adds to what you must consider before attacking. It's a great game in every aspect. I have played almost every Final Fantasy game, and I must say this is one of the best.

Ok. I am not a die-hard fan of strategy games, but I decided to pick up this game. During the first two days of owning this game, i logged over 7 hours! Once you get going, it is very addicting. I am only done with 21 misions, and there are 300. Even if you think you wont enjoy this game, at elast rent it and try it out. You won't regret it.

This is one of the best FF titles out there. Now at first glance the story may seem childish, but it isn't. The story itself evolves throughout the game, and grows on you just like the characters. It is absolute must for all rpg gamers, and would make a wonderful gift.
It is well worth its money for the countless hours of gameplay, and will keep your kids buisy without asking for anything else. It even has exteneded gameplay for when you finish it.

I have always thought Final Fantasy was a lame anime but when I got this....BAM! It was the best game I ever played! You play as a normal kid who just moved into St. Ivalice, a small everyday town. You, Marche go to school and meet two friends Ritz and Mewt. Mewt gets picked on all the time and you and Ritz stick up for him. Ritz and Mewt come by that afternoon and has an old tattered book showing the races from the Final Fantasy games. That night the book changes St. Ivalice into a whole different world. Mewt rules it and is partially your enemy since you are trying to change the world to normal by using sorcery and weapons. You have to follow the story by doing missions which require a battle. You come across a cheerful Moogle named Montblanc who helps along your great journey. There are 5 races: bangaas, viera, nu mou, moogles, and of course humans. I, however, prefer moogles, they are about half your size and look like rabbits. They also are tricky and have odd jobs. Bangaas are large muscular lizards and are mostly used for missions that require brute force. Nu mou are magical beings whom resemble a litte bit of a cross between a beagle and a cow. They are very calm and sensible. Viera are agile hunter women ( Yes, they are a bit like amazons ) who are able to summon spirits and use elementals. Ah....humans. They have a little bit of everything and are great for every kind of mission. Each race has a variety of jobs and when they learn abilities they can gain new jobs ( such as you need one white mage ability and one fencer ability to get a elementalist) The music is good but it isn't quite give you the feeling that your hacking at people with swords. Graphics are brilliant and your units have beautiful colored portrait for each person in your clan ( clan: your group that you use to help you on your journey ). Enemy clans may appear and you may engage with them.
So as you can see, this game is a blast and you should buy it even if you don't like Final Fantasy.
This game is a must have!

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is a great game for the Tactical person. I would reccomend this to anyone over 8 years old, but anyone younger than that it may get confusing. The strategy guild may turn out to be a must have, becuase after awhile things turn mighty difficult. Overall this game brags tons of playtime and tons of challenges. Graphics 5/5 Sound 4.5/5 Gameplay 5/5 Storyline 3/5 Replay 5/5 Fun Factor 5/5

This look game looked and played beautifully. I strongly reccomend this game for any Final Fantasy freak because I am and I love this game. Anyone who plays this game will say it has the graphics of the old FF Tactics but has much better gameplay. For this I salute Nintendo.
