Square-Enix has summoned a fantasic strategy-RPG from its archives and revamped it with all new characters and classes. New to Final Fantasy? Don't worry! This is a great entry point into the Final Fantasy saga.
The story begins with a tutorial mission in the form of a snowball fight. This serves as a way for you to meet the main characters. After the snowball fight, you meet your friends at your house, where you read from an ancient book. In the middle of the night, your world transforms into a world of swords and sorcery known as Ivalice. From there you enter a clan, and begin to be able to fiddle with your character's class and equipment. This is where the game really shines. There is an almost unfathomable amount of equippable items in the game. It is simply amazing.
As you might expect from an RPG, this one is turn-based. You can move, attack, and use items in one turn. Attacks consist of weapons and magic. Some of the best magic effects are the summon spells. My favorites are Ramuh and Madeen.
One thing you may want to consider before buying this game is how much time you are going to put into it. THIS GAME IS EXTREMELY LONG!!!!! While you can get through the game on just story missions in about 40 hours, you will have the most sucess (and fun!) by putting over 100 hours on it! This game is not for the causal gamer, rather the gamer that sticks it through to the end.
This game is certaintly worthy of 5 stars, perhaps more. If this is my Final Fantasy, I don't want it to end. Neither will you!
Takes the idea of a strategy game to a whole new level!

Have you ever played a strategy game? (check one)
(YES) (NO)
Have you ever played a Final Fantasy game? (check one)
(YES) (NO)
Well that doesnt matter because this game is way too fun anyway.
I can not think of one thing about this game that isnt perfect. Being able to have so much customization in one game is magnificant. No two people will have the same experience in this game, guarenteed. Sorry, but if you give this game ANYTHING below 4 stars, I really do have to hate your guts.
This game beats the stuffin' out of Tactics Ogre, Advance Wars (1 and 2) and Super Mario 64 (my second favorite game of all time) Honestly. You have to buy this game.
By the way, the plot is kind of a love/hate thing. Its quite simple and some people might not think the characters have enough of a "cool" factor
Oh yeah, and if you want to see more reviews involving the system, how it works, and things like that, I would go to gamefaqs (its a website, the URL should be obvious)
Good if you've got the skills...not to mention the patience.

Let's put it this way, you get to drop right into the shoes of a young man smack in the middle of a [in typical Squaresoft fashion] global war.
Don't read too much into my opening there and think that the game is bad. By no means actually...
The problem is that most game players won't see this journey to its end.
The game is mission based which is not a real problem but the fact that there are over 300 of them can cause real problems for the casual gamer.
The experience system is like other games in the series, meaning that it works well and allows for some serious customization. The job class is also very useful and fun to mess around with.
The score would be higher though if it had a little more story. But hey, its great anyway so get over there and buy it already.
a good idea

I really never had played the old version of FF:TA and I was thought that Square had done a good job on this game.
The graphes would get a 8/10 nothing great, but not bad.
The story would get a 9.5/10 incredible story, but confusing at first. That may just be make the play as confused as Marche is in the beginning.
The game play would get a 9/10 quite a few good ideas for the R.P.G. world.
The overall is exacly 8.8333333___ divided by 2 is 4.41 which rounds to 4/5 a good game borrow it first to see if you like it if you do...BUY IT.
If you like Final Fantasy you will LOVE this game!!!!

When I got this game I was suprised. The graphics are amazing. The sound is incredible, and overall it is a great game for the GBA. Some parts are hard but master your abilities and you will probrably prevail. This is a game a lot of people will like if you like swords, magic, and a lot of missions! Just be careful not to get sent to prison.
Really cool

this game is very good. One problem, it has only two save slots.
I think that if you could actually walk around in the towns it would be the best game in history.
Its definately worth the money!
Ohh My God

Man this game is so tight but so damn hard. U have to be an long time gamer and an excelent gamer. You have 300 missions and they are all harder than the next. This is a great game and it is hard. try it if u are an advanced gamer!!!!!!!!!
It's okay...but just not good enough.

I bought this game for three reasons: 1) the good reviews, 2) the classes, and 3) I was dying for another game.
Let me tell you, I was disappointed.
My first and biggest complaint is the characters and story. The characters are just...there. The characters, not counting the first couple, have NO personalities whatsoever. Also, the story is a little...bland. Okay, you accidentaly change your town of St. Ivalice into the country of Ivalice, so what do you do? You go on missions so kids can play in the snow up on the terrorizing mountian......
Am I missing something?
I probably am. That might be why I stopped playing.
Also, the game is embarressingly easy. After a battle, all your guys are revived. Not only that, but your enemy is stupid. I bet to make the game harder, the creators plugged in the laws. But you can easily bypass that by hopping to different towns so it turns different days and therefore different laws. Also, instead of a straight grid, it makes it slightly diagonal to confuse you about which way is up and down.
Your budget is no problem, as you get lots of money on most missions and expensive equiptment for free. Also, many people complain about the ridiculous amounts of talking in a game; this is just the opposite. If you don't want to fight or do missions, all you can do is save your game and turn off the GameBoy. There's nothing else to do.
This would be a good game for people looking for drastically good games, or someone just grasping the idea of games that have games in grid formations. It might be just the fact that I played Fire Emblem before this one, as people who play that before this one tand to hate this and visa versa. Or it might be something different.
Such an awesome game...

This game is one of the best games Square Enix or Nintendo has ever turned out. There are easily 100 hours in it, with secret characters, tons of items, and 300 missions. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is a must-have for anyone with a Game Boy Advance, even if you've never played Final Fantasy before.
Lacking Content but awesome game regardless

I don't know what some people are complaining about....the only good complaint is that it's lacking in story content....There is a sense of longing...but by playing FF8 again..that'll clear right up..(not to say FF8 is bad it's my favorite FF game 'cept FF7)
Overall this is a very addictive game...fun to play and a good buy for the cost. F
