My favorite GBA game by far

I'm not the most hardcore of gamers; it is something I do when I am sick and can't leave the bed. But something about the FF series is really fun to me. I don't get as "into" these games as many fans of FF do, but I can still appreciate them for what they are, and this title is no exception.

This title was different for me, though, because when I got it, I could NOT put it down. The graphics, the music, the game play -- very, very entertaining and charming. These FF games always have a great message behind them as well. I would recommend this game to ANYONE.

Never loved strategy until I played this gem

Really, this game was such a pleasant surprise, I still reccomend it to people who have a GBA or DS constantly. Like the title of my review, I never could get into strategy games until I played this game, especially Real-time Strategy games like Warcraft or Civilazation. Despite having those games highly reccomended to me, I could not get into them. Then came FFTA, which plays more like a RPG/Chess mish-mash than an RTS. You take turns moving across the battlefield, one charecter at a time, trying to defeat your opponents in battle. Very simple premise, no in-battle micro management involved. It is outside of battle that you will manage your "Clan" members by choosing their Job, and equiping them with the right stuff in order to learn new abilities to use in battle. This is where you will get absorbed: trying to get you clan as powerful as possible and unloking all the jobs. My only gripes with the game are the flimsy plot and that some jobs become obscelete after unlocking some of the later ones. Then again, this is sorta balanced by the fact that you can "Equip" the abilities from your first jobs and carry them over to a new job. Anyhoo, before I lose you, if you're looking for game that will last you a while, even after you beat it, this is THE best way to go. Few other games on the GBA comes close to offering the amount of replayibility of this title. Easily one of the very best on the system.

Love it!

This is one game that any RPG fan should get! It has an original and interesting plot, incredible customization capabilities, and there are 300 missions to tackle. For a GBA game, it is quite long, which is something that I like a lot; I've played for over 40 hours, and still have over 50 missions left to complete! The clan feature is great, and customizing over 20 characters really opens the door to a world of possibilities in terms of team combinations. Definitely recommended!

Short, To-The-Point Reviews: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

The game is fun. Very fun. Very much like the original Tactics for the PSone (although not quite as good). Takes place in the world of Ivalice (Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII). Easily over 100+ hours of gameplay in this one. Tons of different classes, Summons and all the good FF stuff... The only down side I can think of is that it gets a little repetitive towards the end with the same old routine.

This game is one of the best!!!

This game is truly awesome. Tons of hours of gameplay, with a complex yet still fun job system. If you've got the money, buy the guide becase its REALLY hard to get all the really good jobs otherwise, like Ninja, Assasin, Dragoon, etc. I liked it alot, but don't use cheats, it just ruins the entire point of the game(I did that, and as a result I got so bored I started over again). The summons(Called Totema) are awesome, like in GS2, if you've ever played it, and there are ten of them in total, at least one for each of the races-I think two per race. Only characters of that race can summon their race's Totema, but it's still awesome, so don't complain!!! It also takes 10 Judge Points, which are points you get when you kill someone or do something the judge likes. It's a really complex game, and would take way too long for me to explain entirely, but it's one of the best. The best, of course, in my opinion, is GS2, and if you have money, buy that and play it too!!!

A very very good Game

Now first off, i have not played any FF game before this one so i cannot compare it to any of them. This game is great, and alot of fun.

ok, the best part of this game is the job system. There are five races in the game and each have their own strength and weaknesses and have jobs to match. There are two types of jobs; Basic and Expert. Basic jobs are jobs that the characters can use and the dont require any abilities from other jobs to get. expert jobs usually require a certain number of skills from 1 or two basic (and maybe an expert job or two) jobs to get.

The battle system is a little tricky but it doesnt take long to get used to it.

There are also a few kinds of missions; Story Missions (there is about 30 of them), those procede the story line. and then SubQuest Missions(which u get by completing story missions)that really dont procede the story but has u do certain things.(there are around 300 of these)

there are types of missions; Fighting(which is obvious) and dispatch(where u send one clan member on his/her own to do something)

Ok, the Graphics are all right, pretty good for a gba
The sound is ok as well
The Gameplay is awesome with hours of gameplay.
The Job system is complicated but easy to understand
Over all 5 stars.

BTW the Players Guide for this game is highly recommended because it tells you how to get all the jobs, what each job is good for, what weapons give what abilites and who they give it to. MAKE SURE U GET THE OFFICIAL NINTENDO PLAYERS GUIDE

The first totema may be hard to beat but it is very usefull later on in the game. Look forward to fighting it and using it in batlle. The only thing that most new people dont know is that it takes ten (10) judge points to summon. Good luck and have fun playing it, I know I am!!

Best RPG for the GBA!

I am one of the biggest freaks for RPGs, and I am more than happy with this game.

The beginning is slow and boring, but if you take it in, the game will be so juicy you won't want to let it down. The games that good.

The graphics are great, and you have to work for the cutscenes (this has got to be a first for cutscenes!) that will help explain the game.

If you are working on a RPG collection for the GBA, (I have 13, so I can brag....) this game is going to stand out like a skyscraper. A MUST BUY!

MUST HAVE THIS GAME

Okay, this isn't Final Fantasy Tactics for PS1, but did the PS1 version have a multiplayer system or a joint mission system that could help you gain better items or level up secret weapons? No, it didn't. This cannot be compared to Final Fantasy Tactics because they are completely different.

Problems with this game is basically the story line. This game was aimed more towards the younger fans so of course you cannot find the usual RPG story line elements. But to anyone reading this, please don't take the story line into consideration. Don't play this game for the storyline. Play this game for the same reason everyone played pokemon. It was addicting due to training different pokemon and playing with your friends. This game is the same. You can even train your units.

Most of the original job classes were removed (calculator especially), but there are even better classes that have been put in its place (such as the assassin and the illusionist). This element adds lots of strategy you can think up of.

PLEASE BUY THIS GAME FOR YOUR OWN HAPPINESS. It will take of many hours of your time, but I'm sure you'll like it (unless your someone who doesn't appreciate anime and RPGs and enjoys playing sports games and GTA)

A must have rpg game.

FFTA is a fun and strategic game. It is perfect to play when you're on a trip. It is difficult and may get confusing sometimes, but hey, thats what games are supposed to be like. Anyway the graphics are so-so and the gameplay is fabulous. The only problem I have with this game is the music. The music sounds to egyptian and kidish. Otherwise, this a hot product.

This game however, gets boring after a while, If your a Gold,Siver version fan this statement won't apply to you. All you do is missions and level up your characters. But this is still a must have and won of the top games of the 2003 year. So get FTTA at your local video game store. Like I said, it gets boring after 5 or 6 months after you bought it but you probaly would have beaten it by now.
