This is not only the worst baseball game I ever played it may just be the worst game in any genre ever created. The graphics are choppy and any time you slide into a base or perform any type of action the game slows down terribly. The options (or lack thereof) are miserable. And the fact that you can't control your fielders AT ALL is the worst concept a sports game developer can come up with. If you decide to ignore my advice let me just say, "I told you so" the first time a pop-up is hit to your 1st Basemen and the ball lands 2 feet from him and the 2nd basemen has to run over to get the ball. Stick to NFL2K and NBA2K. DO NOT EVEN WASTE [YOUR MONEY] TO RENT THIS!

In two words, ten years late. the graphics are edgy and the rosters aren't correct. They have Bonds on the Expos, and Griffey on the White sox! The control is alright, but the graphics take away from that. Don't buy it, and save your money for someting worth the money, like Bases Loaded 2 for NES

Greatest Baseball game ever!

I have read over 100 reveiws of this game before i bought it. after i read a few i begain to think maybe i should not buy it. but then i rented it, and i can't believe all these people leaving bad reviews are talking about this game!

when i first put it in, the visuals got me. i couldn't believe it. then i hit the main screen, where i was a little shocked (just a little because reading the other reviews i was expecting it) that it didn't have many choices. i chose exhibition, and i picked boston against the indians. i was disapointed that they did not have Brian Daubach (even thought he slumps) in the lineup, in fact, i have played 3 games since he came to the majors and none of them had him on it, so i figure when i buy the game i will just create him. i got past those disapointments, and the game started... wow! i could not believe the graphics! almost every face looked like the real thing! the game started, loften came to bat, and then i did not know what to do (i did not read the instructions so i had to figure it out) so i mistakingly moved the anolog key in a direction, and (not knowing to push A when the power is full) i threw the pitch. and it was unbelieveable how the virtual pedro's delivery was so real! to every motion. well the pitch hit loften.

batting was a joke when i first started. i did not know what buttons to push until about the 4th inning (colon had 9 K's by then). but what i am saying is it takes time to learn how to hit and pitch. the auto fielding i thought i would not like because my favorite part of playing a video baseball game is fielding (i had 4 no hitters on MLB 2000 PS and one on tripple play 2000 N64) but it turned out it is very good to have auto fielding, it gives you time to think. all you do is go out and pitch, throw the ball to a base and your done. i lost 5 in a row before i won my first (and final, time to bring it back to the video store) with Pedro on the mound, i threw a complete game shutout 4 hitter.

THE GAME IS THE GREATEST GAME I HAVE EVER SEEN! it is a must for every one. alot of these people complain too about the replys. but no one seems to point out that during a reply you can hit the start button and then the screen comes up with controlls so that you can rewind, play, fast forward, and change camera angels.

this gets 5 STARS!!!! rent it if you are not sure if you will like it, but i bet 5 out of 10 people will decide to buy it after renting it.

It was great if the maker think about the game deeply.

Recently, I am a very deep fan of MLB though I am Japanese. It is for that I have many opportunities that I can watch MLB games on Japan TV because Japanese top baseball player went to MLB. Obviousely, MLB playing style is very wonderful. Mainly the batting is power vs power. The batting form and the flying figure of hit homerun ball is splendid. For instance, B.Bond,A Rod and G.Jiamby is so.

When I played this game at first time, that is, for a few weeks, I was very bore for the game. As wrriten in this game review, when we set in our defense play, the movement almost rely on the computer, and we can not reflect our thinking. After that for a few months, I put the game to my book shelf. As I got to be a hot MLB fan day by day, I remembered about the game of the shelf, and played that again.

Unexpectedly, I enjoyed the game more than the first time. That will be because I got many knowledge about MLB. I knew that there were some players who had many unique batting forms. In the same time, in the game I knew what is expressed many unique batting forms too, for instance G.shephield sharp batting form, N.Garusiapara's nervouse glove touch is so. I think that the maker put the deep consciousness to the detailed graphics of players. Off course for the native american fans as you, such things may be natural, but for foreigner fans that is sufficient thing.

Though the defensive is a little bore certainly, the batting play is fun. We can reflect our thinking for the play to some extent, therefore the more we improve our batting technique, as the batting player will react to our wish. I hit 25 homeruns a game by using all star custom setting.

Thank you for reading my poor English.

I called Sega they have an attitude of so what. This is not baseball this is a joke. Example a foul pop by dougout 3d baseman drops ball they call it a ground rule double. No errors how could they leave that out. Batter swings after ball in catchers mitt. Sega told me to trade in game on money back its not defective, they are wrong the whole game is defective. Thank you 3do for Sammy Sousa High Heat 20001. Now thats a baseball game.

I was all pumped up about Dreamcast's first baseball game. I went out and reserved the game. Bought it the day it came out, and found out that it was a huge disappointment! I've only played it twice so far, but I could tell that they were in a hurry to get this game out! First of all, THERE's IS NO HOMERUN DERBY in the game! If you think about it, ALMOST ALL baseball games have a home run derby. Why doesn't this game have one? Another huge let down was that this game only allows up to 2 players. That's pretty sad, considering NBA2000 and NFL2000 gives you the ability of up to 4 players. I also found that it was unusual that you have to hold down the "R" button then release it to hit the ball. Also, PacBell park doesn't look like the real one. The only thing that the game has going for it so far is the graphics. It is by far superior then any other baseball game out there. Now keep in mind that these were the things I caught after only playing it twice. It probably has tons of glitches such as NBA2000 and NFL2000. Don't get me wrong, there all great games, but they need to stop putting out games in a hurry!

What was Sega thinking?

I've been touting the Dream Cast's sports game for some time now. Generally they are some of the best--NFL 2K, NBA 2K, Virua Tennis... I suppose it shouldn't come as a surprise that sooner or later I'd find one that isn't that great. And I'm not surprised it is the baseball game. Unlike football and basketball, there really is no movement in a baseball game, which I think is partially responsible for how much I dislike this game. Just being baseball itself. Add that to a difficulty in pitching and batting, and the problems with fielding a ball and you've got a game that isn't real great (I remember a nintendo baseball game that was more fun, even if the graphics weren't that great). I will say that the stadiums and graphics are beautiful, but it takes more than a pretty picture to make a fun game. And this game isn't much fun.

This is the the worst excuse for a baseball game I have played in a long time. The graphics are obviously great, but that is all. The announcer sounds like a robotic dork, the crowd is a mess, it looks like a bunch of blobby sprites, and the gameplay is absolutely horrible. This is supposed to be a next generation game, yet you can't even control your fielder's! You choose which base to through to after they've missed the ball and jogged to pick it up, this is the very worst baseball game in terms of gamelpay that you can buy, period. The graphics do not make up for it. Avoid this game like the plague unless you like staring at nice player models on pause.
