I own and want to throw away this game

Im not sure what game everyone else is playing but i bought this game on 7/21/00 and it is the worst game ive ever tried to play. You cannot move your men when fielding. The cpu controlls all players on the field.You cannot run, jump, dive , or fall at all.You get to choose the base the player throws the ball to, That is it.If you want to watch baseball try the real thing after all you cant beat those graphics. if you want to play a baseball videogame buy anything else. this game strikes out big time.it is the goat of all baseball games.At a time when sega needs it most,This game fails on all sides. I am surprised they even tried pushing it on the American Public.WE PLAY OUR GAMES WE WATCH OUR T.V.

If you like very arcadey baseball games this may be your cup of tea. The game is exactly like the Sega Arcade baseball game. It is basically a pitcher/batter duel. There is no option to control the fielders until they catch or field the ball (automatic pilot 'til they retrieve the ball), the commentary is very generic and lifeless compared to games like Triple Play or, even, All Start Baseball, the replays are short and you can't decide when to run a replay (the game decides). The graphics are, for the most part, beautiful, though the crowd is 16 bit looking. The bottom line is that if you prefer baseball sims stay away from this game; if you prefer arcade Baseball games this is a good choice for you.

Sega made the greatest baseball game of all time in World Series Baseball 98 for the Saturn. With that in mind I simply could not wait to see what 2k1 would look like for the dreamcast. I must say I was extremely disappointed. The game moves too slow, the music is bad, and the sound effects are horrendous. What were they thinking when they decided too let the computer do the fielding?

I could go on and on but I would rather just get to the point: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!

Well, the graphics are amazing and the batter pitcher interface is smooth and well thought out. The rest, however, should have been worked on a little more.

The greatest strength is by far the pitcher batter match-up. When playing against another player, the game simulates reality very well. The pitcher can set up the batter like in a real baseball game. You can throw a fast ball high and tight, and then fake the batter by going low and inside with a change up.

The biggest problem I have is that about half of all at-bats are pop-ups to the infield. The rest are harmless grounders or strikeouts. This game is incredibly difficult to hit with, and makes it lack really any playability.

Other problems are that stats are not readily available at the end of a game, the sound is reminiscent of a bad Genesis game, controlling runners is a pain, and there is not much control on defense.

This game is like an untested prospect, lots of potential, but not really ready for the big time. Best to wait for World Series 2002, if the Dreamcast can survive that long.

Do not buy this Game!!!!!

I went over to blockbuster and rented this game. Oh my God!!!! It may look good when you start but then it all goes down hill, It'll drive you nuts. If you hit a ground ball anywhere in the infield and they get to it, you're out. If they dive they get up fast and throw it even harder. The pitcher is the worst of all. He can make plays falling away from the throw and still get anyone out. Another problem is that even if you are fast in real life your average in this game. They don't differentiate the speeds. When your fielding you can make throws pretty easily. Catching popups is so stupid. The fielder sits there and watches the ball until its half way down and then he starts running for it. When a runner steals the catcher gets ready to throw the ball and then the game totally freezes. I can't throw anyone out either, for some reason the runner always slides around the tag. In other words, this game is veery unrealistic and it will drive you crazy. Do yourself a favor and don't buy it, don't even rent it.

This game was made in Japan. The game was ment to be on American Baseball. This game is the biggest mistake Sega has ever made! The game is horrible! No control at all really. You CAN NOT move your fielder manually at all! This is saposed to be a BASEBALL sim! Not a pitching comander/hitting sim! The graphics are sweet but that is it. This game really disgusts me as a baseball fan!

By Sega releasing a game like this, it makes you really want a Playstation2. The players look great, the stadiums are good looking, but not completely accurate. After that though I rather play swallow the broken glass than play this game. I'm not even a big baseball fan who likes all of the stats options. The game is just terrible.When you hit the ball in the outfield if the computer decides that he is going to catch it, he runs automatically. If it decides that he's not going to , he'll wait until the ball is about to hit the ground before he even moves. If the shortstop gets a little blooper, he'll run for it and just sit there running in place until he catches it, sometimes it seems like the stadium moves with the ball just when it needs that little exyra to catch the ball. Then the worst slowdown in any game ever released. I guess that it is if there is more than two things going on on the screen at the same time the game pretty much stops, and goes frame by frame, until it can go to another screen. I don't know much about the system technically, but either the game is just that bad, or maybe the system isn't as good as it's supposed to be. i do know one thing though, don't even wast your money renting this peice of trash. If you already bought it, you probably bought it for the same reason I did, all of Segas other sports games were good, so, so does this one, they knew that most people would do that, and that is what really makes me mad.

well i gave the game 2 stars because of how it looks .... it LOOKS great........ but gameplay and well everything ealse about the game is horrable... there arnt enough words in the world to say how horrable this game is.

I got this yesterday, and its just stupid. You start off noticing the great graphics. Then i noticed a good bating/pitching procedure. My brother then hit it against the back wall and i was just wondering why my stupid guy reacted so slow and i couldn't control him. O well i can deal with that. I then pitched it and my brother started to steal second. I hit A and up repeaditly and by the time my slow guy threw it the stealer had already wiped off the dirt off his uniform after sliding. He then did the same thing for 3rd. Next the only modes it has is exhibition, quick start, season, and custimize??? The season just allows you to play a seaon with no trading. The bottom line is the game is lame except for great graphics.
