An attempt to redeem this game.....

Okay........ I know what your thinking, after reading all these negative reviews to not buy this game. Well I totally agree that there are many faults, but after playing it a while and getting a season going its not that bad, it just takes a while to get used to. It is different than any other baseball game, especially triple play, but im telling you..... you need to give this game a try if you are looking into a baseball game with good graphics and decent gameplay.

Do not let these other reviews get you down!

Not worth the dough!

This game has absolutly wonderful graphics, I couldn't ask for more. But what this game doesn't lack in graphics it lacks in game play. The game doesn't respond as quickly as other baseball games that I have played. It has automatic fielding which means the computer does most of the defense. When the players through the ball it doesn't replicate the actual throwing motion of the real players also the trajectory of the ball doesn't look as acurate. Instead of a hard, fast throw it is more of a high, slow lob.

In my opinion this game isn't worth the time nor the effort. I made a fatal mistake in buying this game. I am now waiting for ESPN's MLB game.

Listen to us....really. Don't buy this game

I know what you're thinking...I was there too. I had no baseball title in my collection, and since NFL2K and NBA2K were both very good, I though...."how bad could it be".

Well...it's just plain awful. My list of complaints: 1. The commentary is a joke & is actually annoying 2. You can't control the outfield until they have the ball 3. There's a lag when you command the outfield 4. Batting is one-size-fits-all 5. Good graphics on the players, just don't look behind them 6. There's not practice mode, and if you don't get the hang of batting, you'll wish there was

I wish I could return this because it's the most disappointing thing I've purchased in a long time. Disappointed is not a strong enough description. I'm.....insulted.

Worst game ever!!!!!

This is simply a horrible game that makes you want your money back!!!!!! The computer controls your fielding until the ball is caught. Most of the time your man doesnt even move until the ball hits the ground. It made me so mad I almost took the CD out and set fire to it. Im pretty tolerable of game glitches, but this is pure crap.

Very upsetting

There are many ups and downs to this game. Some upis are the stadiums look exactly like they do in real life and the players have fantastic detail. Also, players make outstanding plays in the infeild like diving or double plays. Its all downhill from there though. Once the other team hits the ball you have no control over your players in the outfield or in the infeild its very fustrating. Its very hard to control the baserunning too. You have to press A to advance and B to return. Youre not sure if the feilder is going to catch the ball and by the time he does your on the other base and your out. Overall this was very good but very bad at the same time. Eat your heart out WSB2K1 because Virtua Tennis is here.

The game itself ony has two bright spots, the rosters are uptodate to justice on yanks.... and the only other bright spot is that it another sports game for dreamcast! The rest is pure JUNK! No fielding, bad pitching, Terriable bantting... Do not watse your money new or used, resist all temptation and just put it down and wait for another baseball game.... More disapointing then a strike year!

I love baseball games. I have played them ever since I was 5 years old and got "Baseball" on the NES. All I have to say was that game was more fun than WSB 2K1. In "Baseball" I could not field the ball, but that was like 16 years ago. In WSB 2K1, on what is supposed to be the most advanced system to date, I can't field the ball. But at least the Players in "Baseball" knew how to play baseball. The players in WSB 2K1 could be beat by a YMCA t-ball team. Why does my pitcher run to center field to make a catch? Why is my first baseman not trying for that pop-up by first base. Why Won't my shortstop throw to first? I dunno? And what is up with the pointless replays? I dunno how many more times I can watch a guy run halfway to first...At least you can turn those off, unlike the boring announcer I think they brought back from a genessis game. Anyway..If you like a baseball game where you have no control over the fielders, pick up "Baseball" for the NES...Trust Me

This Game B[ad]!

This Game [bad]! Sure the graphics are phenominal. But, if you cant field, aim you pitches easily, bat easily, or do things fast, then whats the point. Don't buy this!

Ouch! Money back please!

First off, let me say what was fun about the game. The day my package arrived, and I took the wrapping off. That though, was where the fun ended. I found this game to be absolutely horrible. As others have also written, who in the world thought of putting auto-defense into this game. If I don't want to control the players in my game, I'll turn on the TV and watch the Cubs. The auto-defense doesn't even seem to work a descent amount of the time anyway. I've watched my centerfielder sit there for quite a while pondering the thought if he wants to move to catch the ball, and guess what?, most of the time he decides not to catch the ball.

This game also appears to be stuck with a terribly chopping frame rate. I've watched my runner on third run home, and when there is a play at the plate the game goes into slow-motion. I don't know if this is supposed to be some sort of graphic effect, but whatever it is, it's not good.

The batting is a unique new way to play, but it is not really to my liking. Base-running is oftly difficult to control too, the analog control stick is not the greatest for this feature.

I feel I have wasted my [$] on this game, and I don't suggest others do the same. I will either be putting my game on [auction] soon, or [trading it] for a copy of Virtua Tennis. Sorry Sega, graphics do not make a game, I want to actually be able to play my game. Overall, D+!

great graphics, & terrible gameplay.

I really suggest renting it first, this seems like an unfinished game. If you want a great sports game try Virtua Tennis.
