This is the first sports game I have ever played, and I rather like it. I cannot find the problems the other reviews find and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

This game to start out, looks great! Aside from looking great it may possibly rival early Nintendo versions for the worst MLB game ever made. First, you are introduced to the pitchers. They give you a small detail about the pitcher but no season statistics, so you do not know what you are up against. Secondly, to bat, you release the right trigger to swing. You are forced to use the analog thumb pad also.

At the end of the game, it tells you the winner, the loser, if there was a save & the homeruns. NO BOXSCORE!!!??? I don't know about the majority but I like to base my players starting status on two things. 1. Reality (the correct rosters) 2. Game to game statistics. If a player is slacking you have no way of knowing. You can't check in the middle of the game to see what the player is batting on the game. And if you want to change pitchers, you must also call it blind, as they provide no information as to what your players' ERAs might be. Usually games will tell you when a player steps up to bat, how they have faired in that particular game, along with season stats. Here they only provide season stats. I would like a 1-1 today, 2 for 3, etc.

This game is not fun. I gave it 2 stars because it looks good. Don't bother buying this game. It will only frustrate you, unless you care nothing for real game play.

this is the worst video game on the sega dreamcast console. THIS LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING OFF THE SGEA GENISIS. i bought this "game" and took it back to [the store] and told them it didnt work. THIS "GAME" IS WAYYYY TO OVERRATED TO HAVE 1 STAR. IF I COULD GIVE IT 0 STARS THEN THATS WHAT IT WOULD BE. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GAME OR U WILL GET REAL MAD,. DONT EVEN RENT THIS GAME. IT LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING GAMEBOY MADE.

This has to be the worst video game ever made. The way the hitting is controlled is a joke. A chimp could have designed it better. I will not buy another dreamcast baseball game until I play it first.

This game is not like the baseball game that is on TV. This is a make believe game. On this game a player can hit a homerun or base hit on almost ever play that take all the fun out of the game. It is hard to catch and the scoring of the game is too high. The inning on this game are to long.There is a couple of good things about the game, the player face looks real and they are batting like they do on TV. The game play is totally uncool and is not much fun.

A 4 star review may look weird with all these bad reviews.

Look, I'm no expert at baseball games, so I may not have noticed some of the mistakes Sega made, but I did notice a couple:1. You can't control the fielding until the computer catches the ball (then you can control the player throwing it),2. The replays are repetitive and boring, but at least you can turn them off. 3. Throwing the ball to the bases is kind of tough because instead of pushing buttons that resemble bases like in other Baseball games, you have to put the analog in the direction of the base, hold it there, and press A.

Besides those problems, I liked the game. And it wasen't as bad as some people say it is. So rent it to see if you like it or not. Don't let these bad reviews stop you from trying the game.

NFL2K and NBA2K were wonderful. NHL2K was okay. MLB2K1 is just a further regression. I am not a hardcore gamer. I only enjoy playing sports games. Since the previous games were so good, I had high expectations for this one. I almost feel mislead. The slowdowns are horrible. There is nothing fluid about the gameplay. Sure the graphics are good. That is what you paid for. It is almost impossible to hit. The CPU does its best hitting when you are winning and have two outs against it. It becomes rather frustrating. Not having control over your players is also a negative aspect of the game. To play Defense, all that you need to know is which bag to LOB it to. Not too challenging. I was all geared up when the Dreamcast was released. I figured that the sports game would improve after NFL2K. Why does it have to take so long to release these games? After reading other reviews, I would say that Sega has some kissing up to do with its gamers. If not, I will be the first one to sell the Dreamcast to buy a new Sony once released.

I can some this game up in one word lame . The only thing in my opinion this game has going for it is the graphics. What moron thought of the idea of having computer controlled fielding. That takes the fun out of the game. Though the pitching is ok and the batting is almost acceptable i think if you want a good video game get virtua tennis

The graphics are so real! The players have their actual stats! It also is a great pitching!

This wont take long. Dont buy this game like I did. Dont think it would be as good as nba2k or nfl2k-Its Not! Graphics get 5stars/everything else no stars. Sega's add campaign 5 stars. This is the worst baseball game I have ever played, that includes atari baseball, which has more playablity and fun factor. This is [$] I am going to forget about.
