Without a doubt exciting to play. Its pretty short having only about 4 levels. I had the game a week and finished it at normal regular level twice. Coming over from PC this was my first (360 game). Till this time I have never even touched a controller. I thought the graphics on PC, Far Cry, were good. This game is like playing a movie. You should be able to finish it at regular level in about a weekend.

I almost wish I hadn't bought this game. It was a gift for my husband who I don't see much anymore since the game arrived super quick after ordering. This product came faster than items I had ordered 10 days previously! The service is awesome. The game is awesome...I don't play, but it looks pretty cool. Except for the string of curse words that occasionally erupt from the computer room (and the dogs come running into the family room), I think he's really enjoying it.
beats Crysis in online gaming!!

This game was short, but the online game play makes up for it. It is fast, fun, and the servers are packed! Compared to Crysis online - COD4 rocks!
I gave this as a gift , my son loves it.

I cant tear my 24 year old kid away from these Call of Duty games. Rather have him playing on TV than in Iraq.
The grapics are very impressive that ive seen-I have not played it but he says it the best game hes ever played.
If you like this sort of thing this may be the best of the genre.

First, this game rocks. ALL aspects are great. Graphics are no doubt top of the line. I play on a 8800 GTS OC 640 on Quad core 1 GB RAM and it plays flawlessly. I dont know how people are not blown away by the graphics. I think its either meets or surpasses Gears of War for the 360. I love how blurry things get depending on what your looking at.
While the game play was a bit linear, what game isn't? You don't play the same person the whole game, and you play from vehicles. The AC130 was the best part.
The AI is the best I've seen so far in any game for the PC. I was never bored or frustrated.
The only bad things are either trivial (like objects floating in mid air, airplanes flying through the mountains, etc), or just the fairly short single player campaign. Not as short as some other "airborne" games, but it took be less than a whole day to beat (bought this afternoon, now I'm done).
Get this game. Worth the money.
Call of Duty 4 is easily in my top 5 games of all time

I'm not too crazy about war or squad-based games, but CoD4 is definitely awesome. The SP experience alone is worth 50 dollars, and I haven't even touched MP yet. The thing is, this game is a non-stop thrill ride. Most of the time you're either sniping fast, dodging grenades, sneaking and flanking, or any combination of the above. The action never stops and the missions are all unique and very satisfying. I die a lot in this game (I play on Hardened mode) but I'm never mad, as I usually am if I die more than 3 times in the same shootout in videogaes. This is the first Call of Duty I have ever played and what a fine series I've been missing out on.
Best Single Player FPS I've Ever Played

Well written & mature story (nothing cheesey here) - adult players will really enjoy this one - the story actually adds value to the whole experience for a change.
Awsome graphics - no arcadey OTT explosions
Great variety of objectives - game play is awsome - they had around 6 USMC advisors on this project, and I think it shows
Quality voice overs - the actors did a great job
Animation is first class - the humans look/act real
Excellent AI
Just buy it, you won't regret it... this is one really polished product & I can't wait for the expansion pack. These guys really excelled themselves this time and have set a benchmark that will be hard to beat. I've just finished it, and it was simply an awsome experience.
Look out for Brothers in Arms 3 - Hells Highway (Operation Market Garden)next year, this might give it a run for its money
Incredibly easy and a lot of fun or impossibly hard and no fun

BLUF: Buy the game. It is a well designed and presented game that offers a fun (but short) campaign on lower difficulties and has unlimited replay value with stellar multiplayer. having said that let me explain why I (an avid gamer) did not give CoD4 5 stars.
On the lower difficulties this game plays like a movie. Every firefight (unrealistically so) is about as intense as Omaha beach. At lower difficulties this is actually fun simply because everythings blowing up and getting shot around you but you're not actually dying. You can fight your way through the levels and at the end you will say "that was cool." However, do not expect to be challenged at the lower difficulties. The game is so easy that it is basically like watching a movie that you have some say in, you know that you're going to win and survive you just need to let it play out.
At higher difficulties it is completely the opposite. The "AI" (not really AI but more like scripted shooting bots) not only knows where you are, but could put Delta Force / SAS soldiers to school if they were actually real. Not only is there incredible ability to aim while on the run very annoying, but their aim is so good that you essentially die in one shot. The traditional call of duty formula is you get shot 5+ times in quick succession and you die without resting. While that formula has not changed, the incredibly accuracy of your opponents on high difficulties is such that if they hit you once, 9/10 times they will hit you 5 more times.
You can even sprint and some guy in a helicopter 500m up in the air and about 800m away from you will drop you within your first 3 steps. Needless to say, the fun factor severely decreases when you have to play certain mission over 80+ times (no exaggeration, play it if you don't beleive me) on certain parts just to get to the next save point. And yes, you will die over and over and over again if you put the difficulty at all above normal. I wonder if the designers just went for the most frustrating possible design at high difficulties because in that they surely succeeded.
Call of Duty 4 is a great game whose greatest selling point is its solid multiplayer. The single player campaign, while well executed, is both short and either stupidly easy or impossibly hard.
Solid FPS, although monotonous at times

I purchased this game after many of my friends told me how awesome it is. The hype may have inflated my expectations, as I didn't find COD4 to be as good as they thought.
The single player campaign has highs and lows. Some of the missions are very intense, enthralling, and suspenseful to play, while others are very dry to the point where I want to stop playing. The problem is that the game uses the same formula: move to point A, *spawn massive army of enemies*, clear the area, repeat. There isn't much innovation, as the whole game you simply advance and shoot.
My favorite aspect about the game is the combat. The weapons all feel like they deal the correct amount of damage, and you can get killed pretty quickly if you're not alert to enemy fire, so unlike other shooters you can't rush your enemies guns blazing - COD4 forces you to be a lot more tactical.
Graphically, COD4 is a mixed bag. Some of the lighting and particle effects are top notch, but other elements are totally outdated. The skyboxes, and textures are totally out of place. The inconsistency somewhat degrades the immersion of the game and you can easily tell it's computer generated.
Multiplayer is mixed also. If you go to the typical team dm server, you will find an endless cycle of rushing, spraying, and respawning. On more hardcore servers the gameplay changes dramatically, as you don't have instant respawn forcing players to play more seriously.
I would recommend this game for the entertaining story of the SP campaign, and the multiplayer, but I don't think the game lives up to the hype.
My system:
AMD x2 4000+ @ 2.73 ghz
EVGA 8800gt SSC
2gb DDR2 800mhz RAM
Dell 2407wfp hc lcd
I play maxed out, smooth as butter at 1920x1200.
