This game was voted by GameSpy #1 PC shooter game of the year for 2007. It has a great but short single player campaign, but the multi-player is great too. Realistic and fun. Make sure you have plenty of CPU speed and power and plenty of Ram. The requirements for the video card is high too. If you got the machine, it will be very enjoyable. Best in the Call of Duty series. I am sure there will be a sequel to this game in the future. It is also rated "M". Has a fair amount of blood, but not too graphic. Just enough to be realistic, which is what a game like this should be. Enjoy.

On of the best first shooter games out on the market now... The graphics surpass previous CoD games. Excellent game love to play on line, makes for long hours of fun......

Early Christmas

I got this for my husband as a Christmas gift. I tried not to spoil his surprise, but he was about to go out and buy it for himself. Here it was Dec. 4, and he was asking if we could open 'just one gift!' That's how excited he has been about this game. So, I caved in and let him open it...and let me tell you, he LOVES this game! I have heard nothing but great things about it. The graphics, sound effects and such are fantastic. If you have a boy or man in your life that likes this type of game, this would make a GREAT Christmas gift!!

mainly online play

If you like playing online this may be a good choice. If you play mainly singleplayer,then you only get about 5-6 hours of play and for the money, it is not worth it.

Excellent continuation of the Call of Duty franchise updated to modern times

The next incarnation of Call of Duty for the PC should please fans of the franchise. Sequels often suffer from an air of familiarity so the creators have attempted to spice things up by bringing the combat scenarios into modern times. I think they have succeeded.

The brilliant COD gameplay hasn't changed much meaning COD2 veterans will be able to jump right into this. Newbies as well will have no trouble donning the fatigues and getting into combat thanks to the brilliant interface that leads you into the game.

Graphics are really good even when (sadly) I have to dial down the graphics because my PC is only a 1.6GHz Dual Core - below the minimum specs - running Vista, 1GB RAM, Nvidia 7500LE.

Singleplayer is all very well but its the brilliant multiplayer possibilities that will yet your heart thumping. Watch out for aircraft!

Another superb effort from Infinity Ward.

Superb! The most realistic a computer game will ever get short of actually being there. Storyline..amazing. Cinematic's...inSANE! Graphics...nothing like it. One of the best games on the market right now and will remain so. WTG Activision/Infinity ward!

Mayor disappointment

As the graphics looks nice, the game itself is a big disappointment. The underlying story is the usual stuff (hunting down some bad guys). But what disappointed me the most was that you can play the entire game in one weekend or less. Yes! And that's not just when playing 24 hrs a day, rather like 5-8 hrs a day. The game is short. You don't get the money's worth. Maybe they ran out of ideas halfway into the game or thought that if they keep it short, then they can release another one to get more of your money. I guess that most of the people who posted the review here didn't realize how short the game really was because they wrote the review before they fisished the game. Don't buy. Crysis is much, much better.

Like most gmaers whotake their fun seriously, i have played all of the previous COD releases, and enjoyed them all emensely. What I found in this game however is refreshing in that it is up to todays standards, and storyline, thus creating a fictional atmosphere in the middle east and Russia. Gameplaty is good but ditto J.McIntre's comments as right on. repawning i found to be just plain lame. Theuy use this for gameplay these days,in place of realism, and i beleive for the younger set,who just don't know any better.
generally i don't like to diss games for the sake of unwarranted tidbits. The game is good in itsown right. Worthy of a purchase for sure. Its length may be short but its content is very well worth money spent.
I happen to love cinematics in games. This game offers a little bit of that and more plus good sound effects, storyline etc.. So many games put forth do not take these things into account,thus falling far short in thier efforts. While linear in design, that is OK as that is the way this typwe of game has alwys been. Game makers market a game to appease the masses, and not a select few. LOL
Also, making a game that runs and plays on most anybodies computer worthy of game playing is a plus and although i ditto another reviewers thoughts about 'Crysis' as being a bit better IMO, in that regard, they are differnt type and style games. Much better graphics then previous installments..so credos there.
Overall i gave it a four star only because the first time i played it, i got confused many times with objectives and not knowing the respawn thing,until the second go around. Should have figures as much. Like a previous reviewer, i put it like third behind 'Crysis',and Rainbow Six Vegas. Worthy of buying and playing for sure.
