i pretty much creamed myself on the 1st few levels. i should have bought it online since it's like 50bucks at stories)
this is probably the "1st" must get game i would refer to anyone.
if you played any of the call of duty games, then you will know how hectic it gets on the battlefield. Also the muliplayer isn't so bad.
It's fast paced but then again... i think all the other ones were too?
All in all this is truly a next gen game...(with a descent story too.)

Graphics: Beautiful, simply beautiful. I have a laptop system with a 8300go equivalent NVS140 overclocked to 680/980 which isn't a gaming rig and it looks brilliant when i output to my 720p tv. Best graphics for you computer specs game out there and looks better than i've see anyone run crysis.

Gameplay: So immersing, you feel like your in the battle. When a fellow solider dies, you feel like you should have done something to save him. No other game does as well of a job at that. The missions are also varied. There is an epic sniper mission as well as a gunship mission and the regular infantry missions.

Storyline: The game plays like a movie. I watched every cut-scene willingly as it was truly entertaining. You notice the movie theme right away with an intro mission, or scene if you will, and then they have a intro credit level.

Multiplayer: I didn't play much multiplayer but from the little bit I did, it seemed pretty standard. There was nothing groundbreaking but at the same time nothing was missing.

Verdict: My verdict on this game is that it is a must have for FPS players. Even the short single player is worth the money. Buy this game!

This game lives up to all the reviews. 5-star graphics, FPS
of the year, and all that stuff.

I am running: NVIDIA 8500GT video card, 1 gig of RAM, and a
P4 3.0 ghz. Runs flawlessly in single player and multiplayer..
basically if you start playing this game your girlfriend/family
and whoever else requires your attention will hate you :) But
worth the purchase, definitely.

P.S. The single player friendly fire -does- get a little
frustrating, but if you play it like the Hitman-type game
(stealth, crouch, tactics) you will overcome this. It's not
as bad as people have been saying.

Finally a game worth playing that has great picture. A game where if you shoot someone in the head they actually die. Best game I played so far , I am a battlefield 2 fan and after playing this game . This game has won me over. Get it you won't regret it. Only downside is slow time installing it and you can only fight on the ground no land vehicles or jets or heli to fly. Upside fast load speed for game.

I ordered this late on 12/20 for my husband as a last minute gift and knew it would be late arriving with the free shipping. Estimated arrival was 12/28. This shipped yesterday and arrived today!!! My husband has been playing it non stop since. (I may never be able to use that computer again). Kudos to Amazon for great service! The game is unreal...very realistic.

I am a call of duty fan and number 4 lives up to the hype. Get action and great scenarios to play. It is a little short on adventures however. But, I guess, number 5, will hopefully come along soon. Great action and graphics. Easy to learn, but challenging enough to play over and over. Nice job Activision. Keep it up.

Super realistic and not a piece of cake. Even at the recruit level it's challenging. Just wish I didn't have to work so I could play it more.

Excelent game if you are into modern warfare. Great multiplayer modes with unlockable stuff thet keeps you motivated and even when you get all the stuff the competition just becomes fierce.

Graphics are awesome and you dont need a monster card to run it (A friend is using a 8400 and it runs fine).

Get it. Nuff Said.

Really enjoyable single player mode with very variable missions, Arcade mode enhances the game experience by challenging the player with time, score and lifes. Multiplayer over the Lan or Internet is the best overall.

Of course best game of all time is a fluid ranking, but as I write this review after having played hundreds of games for countless hours over the years, COD4 is the current king of the hill (having displaced my long-time favorites of Battlefield 1942 [Desert Combat mod] and COD2). I know it sounds kind of cheesy when you say "best of all time" but this game really knocked my socks off!

It seems that this game is in no shortage of glowing reviews but I just had to chime in. I've been playing video games since the whole thing began with Pong and I remember when PacMan first appeared in the arcades. That being said I can also say that this is the game that I've been looking for ever since I started playing video games. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is an amazing game. I don't really get into online gaming, mostly because of a lack of time, but I have really enjoyed playing the single player campaign.

First I should say that there is one thing about the game that bugs me. The super lethal DOGS. When I have a bunch of guys attacking me and I hear a dog, I focus all my attention on getting the deadly dogs, or you'll soon have your throat ripped out. I'd rather take on 30 guys at the same time than a couple of dogs. A dog being more dangerous than a soldier with an AK-47? I don't think so.

I find that on the Hardened difficulty setting it can be quite challenging and thrilling to play. It is like you are going through an interactive movie where your hard work can make the difference in the outcome of the story. Graphics are out of this world, weapons are many and seem fairly accurate, and things flow smoothly. It can strain your system but in all honesty this game is worth upgrading your computer for! It's that good.

The one place where this game outshines most others that I've played is the feeling that it is kind of free-form, when it actually isn't. It feels like you can do whatever you want in a level, just run off on your own and make things happen. But the whole thing is a design masterpiece because having something that seems to be free flowing instead of using a rigid, linear structure, is quite a feat.

Another couple of very cool things are the ability to shoot through walls and thin materials. This is a much improved aspect of the shooter genre. As an avid target shooter I can say that most games don't accurately portray the power of the penetrating round. Also, the voice acting and writing in this game are top notch. Instead of the commonplace stilted, half-hearted chatter found in most shooters, we are treated to some good stuff. I found myself laughing out loud several times at the witty banter.

I think that this game will be around for many years to come. Most impressive Infinity Ward; you've given an already excellent series a tremendous boost! Buy it and play it today!
