An incredibly difficult to operate game with a boring story and some sorry levels. The controls just stink, in the midst of combat you will find yourself switching from your weapon to a useless motion tracker. To redeem the poor controls most levels have very few bad guys for you to face, so you stand a chance of stumbling through and surviving. If you want a good shooter try Halo, Max Payne, Hitman II.
WAY Better Than I Thought It Would Be

Because a certain game I find terrible, HALO, nearly ruined shooters for me, I almost didn't give this game a chance. But I can say I am glad I bought this one. The game is overflowing with options, characters, weapons, and game modes. There is unlimited playability, thanks to the MAPMAKER option. You can make your own multi-level map, however you want it to be: placement of weapons and powerups, lighting effects and colors, music, and much more. While the graphics are slightly cartoony, they have an equal touch of realism too. Very good game, very worth the money.

What a fun game. It is by far the second best shooter I have ever played (Halo being #1). I love how you can go to different times, and use different weapons. There is a ton of variety in the game as well, the story mode is entertaining but all the other modes available are awesome as well! I wholly recommend this game to anyone who likes shooters.
Worst FPS ever made. why did this get ported to XBOX???

This is the worst first person shooter I've ever played. I was lucky enought to rent this before I shelled out the $$$. Like many of you I saw the cover and read the part about "first halo now this" well I can't tell you how much money eidos gave to gamespot for this statement but it had better of been a heafty sum.
The gameplay is worthless in this game. Timesplitters only lasted about 5 minutes in my XBOX before I took it back to blockbuster. Graphics are horrible the people move like they are some sort of puppets with broken legs (strange people with extra joints in their legs??? who knows).
any other FPS on the xbox is better (even Turok) trust me do not buy this game. punish eidos for even trying to pull this one over on us!
Frustrating and best for multiplayer

I have played some other FPS on X-Box. From my experience, I like games where the player has control over the targeting, the explosive weapons have a punch, and a good supply of life. So far, I like MOH: Frontline and Halo.
This game is unlike those two games in all the ways I describe. This is, for me, very evident on the level known as 1972: Atom Smasher. For the past twelve hours, I have been attempting to succeed at this level. In this level, the player is running against the clock to defuse bombs. There is a corridor the player is required to pass through where the enemy masses an ambush against you. This is where I am dead every time. The reasons for me are simple: I am attempting to aim while the enemy AI is capable of killing me over and over; the weapons don't have enough punch; and the body armor can be wiped out by a single explosion. Very frustrating.
This game is best for multi-playing where both players can receive the same amount of damage a single player would receive thereby increasing the likelihood of longer gameplay.
Starts off strong, but never gets any better

After playing the first level of this game (which strongly resembles the dam from Goldeneye), I thought I was in for a treat. Unfortunately, this high-note seems to be as good as it gets. The small arcade challenges you unlock are more addictive than the actual game itself, but there is no long-lasting appeal in those mini-games. Good for a rental, but not worth buying.
Disappointing

The game is okay, but I was expecting much better. The graphics are plain and very cartoon-ish. This is, quite simply, an average first person shooter. If your hopes aren't too high, you may enjoy the game.

If your thinking of getting a replacement to your much beloved halo then this wont really surfice because they are totally different games timesplitters isnt as serious as halo.
As a game timesplitters is great its multiplayer is wicked with bots which are actually intelligent and SO many game modes with tonnes of levels.
The story line to the games isnt exactly original but that doesnt stop the game from being cool. You will have great fun on level one due to the slyness of sniping all the cameras and the enemies. One problem i can think of is the fact that the aiming system is a bit messed up as the haircross doesnt stay in the middle of the screen when you turn this will take a little getting used to and also you cant jump but if you can put this aside this is a must buy game with so much to do.
A halo beater? Maybe

This game has all the elements of halo with many twists. First it has a cartoonish type graphics that makes it look pretty funny like squids and monkeys. Next it has all of the best modes of multiplayer besides DM and CTB (capture the bag) but also has modes like assault and gladiater. The game also has brand new incentive to play the game. It makes you work for levels modes and over 90 characters that look very funny. Then it has the Goldeneye element to Single player. The voice on the game is annoyingly Russian and the game is pure Goldeneye like the health and awards. Overall, this game is the best game out for Xbox next to Halo.

o.k it may not be a halo beater, but it has great gameplay good graphics, (nice and solid) over 120 playble characters, the best multiplayer on any console and 100s of challenges (such as throwing bricks through windows or defending a tower from an onslaught of zombies) on top of this there is a map maker. about the single player there is good sound tons of wepons lots of locationseg.1930s chicago to james bond esque atom smasher, but onto the multiplayer good maps totally costamizable matches with modes such as deathmatch/team deathmatch and a greatgame monkey assistant(whoever is ranked last gets fife little furry friends to help them level the playing field)
