Well Halo 2 the game of games, or more like the flop of games. I loved halo 1, its the reason I bought an Xbox, and it blew me away. Infact I still own it, its huge levels the weapons the enemy and the story the multiplayer, wow how come nobody thought of this before, it made bungie a well knowen company to the average joe. It made legions of fans, fans that would end friendships over the honor of the game, now the wait is finally over, will you defeat the covenant, what happens to the flood, and what will happen to earth, with hopes of finding this out I rushed to reserve the game, then my hopes were lifted even more by the first few levels, dual weapons, urban combat, new vehicles, new covenant. I find out the covenant get to earth and there are more halos and even the marines are there again(the black sargent is back?) Well from the start the game action is kind of slow and ammo is rare for human weapons but you blow away the bad guys with dual weapons, a huge attack on earth keeps you busy and the covenant are running, than the problems, great graphics and sweet sound but the vehicles dont drive as smooth and I have to ditch my machine guns cause no ammo, then bam the covenant retreat and you follow, then all of a sudden after only a few levels you are at another halo, wait I already did the halo thing, whats happining on earth? Well The missions are the same stop the bad guys from killing everyone with halo. Wow not much else, you get to play as a covenant, but you mission is the same stop the bad guys from activating halo, you get to play more as the covenant and see more action with him than you do with master chief, you dont even defeat the covenant or the flood or save earth, but you do get back to earth, but you dont fight, you just end up there, and even more questions show up, are you ever actually going to defeat any one, and will earth actually be saved by you or will the war carry on so long that every one gets bored and just goes home, I guess you should at least rent it, you will beat it in a week, guarenteed, and dont believe the hype of halo 3, at least there better be a halo 3 or something, if there is no halo 3 then this is a crapper game then I thought it was.

Everybody is freaking out about Halo 2. "You can play it online against people! That's way better than playing a computer!" Oh yeah, that's great kids. WELCOME TO 1995! Us Windows PC users have been playing on the internet against "real people" since Doom 2 and Duke Nukem 3D came out with the release of Kali95 in 1995. People seem to treat Halo 2 like it's the grand opening of multiplayer gaming. Please. Quake and Doom led the way and MMORPGs are leading it even further. I suppose when a game that rips off Everquest and every other MMO on the market comes out for some crappy $200 console system in a few years, they'll say the same thing. I can see it now... "Halo 4 is amazing! You can level your character and play with your friends in a party!"

Sigh.

By the way, I played it to see what all the fuss is about. Both it and Halo 1 and average first person shooters with no interesting storying, multiplayer advancements, or strategy to pull them anywhere out of mediocrity.

Boring boring boring. It was all done and done better nine years ago on PC.

I bought Halo 2 2 weeks ageo brought it home started playing it right away. I was not happy with it because it was to easy for me. and the new wepens suck!!!!! some of them are weak. and I got though the whole game and won in ONLY 3 DAYS after I bought it. If YOUR THINK ABOUT BUYING HALO 2 DON'T JUST SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR SOME ELSE.

Yeah I preordered Halo 2 in August with the promise that it would be at my door step November 9th. Well its Nov. 9th and it hasnt even shipped yet. Amazon.com pre order is not the way or the place to buy video games!

I am not a kid but this is the only review section I could get into. I pre-ordered 2 of these on September 5th for system link play. They arrived today. People up in arms about the delivery date off by a day or two need to get a job or a life or both. People who give reviews about something before they have seen it are pure idiots. The only reason I put a rating on this was because the review required it. I used 5 stars to compensate for other reviews. Yes I am looking forward to playing this also since I just bought a new 70" high def widescreen XBR, (quite a switch from playing pong on a black and white tv, that was my first system) but there will be plenty of time for that, I have more interesting things to do right now. And yes, I will order from Amazon again.

I'll never pre-order anything from Amazon again!

Well, it's now November 10th and my son's copy of Halo 2 still hasn't shipped.....according to Amazon it had an ETA of November 8th. We preordered back in August. Will continue to look locally for it and return the shipment to Amazon......that is if it ever arrives!!!!! They've just lost me as a customer.

Halo 2 is one of the best FPS games today. Halo 2 is fun but at the end it really pissed me off. I won't give any spoilers, but the game is short, I beat it on all 4 difficulties in a week. Its still better than the first.

why do people like halo?

i hated the first one, but i bought this anyway. i exchanged it for call of duty as soon as it came out ,& all i can say is "if it wasn't for idiots, this & britney spears would never exist."
good points: little or no lag online, beautiful graphics
bad points: lots of stupid kids playing, all the weapons are weak.
when making a shooter, one should focus on the weapons.if you like playing team sports with brats while shooting at people with weak weapons like a imac version of an alien pea shooter, this is the game for you.get a real game, like splinter cell.

Still not shipped.

This has been one of the most anticipated sequels I have been waiting for since the original HALO. I have been playing Star Wars Battlefront in the interim, a great game, although some beg to differ, but it's HALO 2 I'm real eager to play. I hope it is as good as the hype I'm reading!

I got mine today as well. I got Halo 2 Limited Edition through MTV for only $38, not bad huh?

I just checked the tracking on the on-line status for delivery, I can't wait to get home and start kicking some Covenant [...].

I can't wait to play my usual HALO rivals. Candy Cane... You out there, I'm coming for you!!
