Doesn't live up to the hype

This is a frustrating game to review, because it has some great features. However, as everyone who has played this game for more than 8 hours quickly realized, it's a rip-off. This game is about one-third as long as the first Halo, and doesn't really add many features that weren't available in the original. There is no excuse for hyping a game this much, while the average player can defeat it in less than ten hours. If you don't have Live!, this game is a rental, at best.

I have never played a better game in my life. The weapons and cars have inproved from the first Halo. Here is a bit about the weapons.

Magnum
M6c Magnum Sidearm
a stripped-down verson of the M6D Pistol equipped by the crew of the Pillar of Autumn during their battle with the Covenant on Installation 04, the Magnum does not have a scope-and therefore lacks the very feature that made its counter part so deceptively deadly in Halo: Combat Evolved.

SMG
M7/Caseless Sub Machine Gun
The SMG's strength is its high rate of fire. While individual stots are not enormously damaging, its full automatic mode has led to it being dubbed the"bullet hose" by UNSC. When dual-wielded,it allows the Master Chief(or Arbiter)to drown targets in a veritable torrent of projectiles.

Battle Rifle
BR55
Replacing the MA5B Assault Rifle found in Halo:Combat Evolved,the Battle Rifle was built with high reliability and ease of use in mind. With every pull of its trigger the BR55 fires a burst of three bullets

A weapon design that has barely changed since first conceived,the shotgun is a close-range firearm that can stop any human,Creature or covenant in its tracks.

this game is so fun....want to know whats funner than halo 2??? ice cream! i love ice cream (and halo 2)! ice cream has more flavors than halo 2. halo 2 only comes in limited and normal flavors! ice cream comes in chocolate, vanila, strawberry, and a whole bunch of more cool yummy orgamsic flavors. I would recomeend ice cream and halo 2 too anybody. if u r a retard like me and u like halo 2, you will get halo 2 and learn the importance of BUTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please, no really, please buy this game. while u r at the store, please bring me butter-flavored ice cream! I SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!!! (and halo 2)

THis game is so short!!! The game play is cool... But I beat the game already. How is this fair BUNGIE!???
You need to seriously change the campaign.

I don't play it myself, but my son and his friends spend countless hours on it. They especially like playing it live. And I have to admit, it looks awesome!

I have Halo 1 on Xbox and PC and I'm a pro (My name on <a ] Halo for PC is The Heretic for anyone who wants to challenge me). It simply rocks and is addicting. Plus the with all the features Xbox Live available . Multiplayer Live rocks. But the Bad News:The End. Simply put. The story gets a little hurried and then it seems like it is shorter. And they took out some of the things. Like New Mombasa what the streets look like when you fight ur way thru them. ATV's were taken out. The Elite's missions suck out loud (you will find out why for anyone getting this but hasen't gotten it yet). MC's mission are completely better than the Elite's missions. Then *SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT* DO NOT LOOK AT THE REST IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO FIND OUT THE END PLZ (CUZ I DONT WANT TO GIVE IT AWAY)!!!!

It sucks when at the end when Master Cfief gets off the by some pointy looking ship (I think it's the Forerunner's escape Ship), the General or some guy on MC's intercom says "what are you doing?" cuz he was heading back to Earth I think, and MC says "To finish this fight"....That sucks cuz it makes u think ur still on his missions and ur going back to Earth but then FMV fades then comes the credits.....although it does tell u that there is probably gonna be a Halo 3....BUT STILL then its The End....It's also kinda short and the Flood that the Elite's have to deal with are HARDER THAN HELL!!! You'll find all this out when you beat it. I cannot wait when I get XBL so I can pwn some n00bs!! LMFAO!! LOL...anyways conclusion buy this....If u have an Xbox..get it...period... Happy Gaming!!! P.S. Put two in the chest and one in the head in those Brutes for me !! LOL THX

Hi there, king of consoles. Let me be a little more clear about the points I was trying to make. Halo 2's mobility is VERY limited. Yes, I did play the game for a few hours, my brother owns it and I gave the game a shot, just like I gave halo 1 a shot when it came out. It's just soooo over-rated. When I played it, it seemed like my character "Master Chief" was walking, not running. Controlling the field of view is awkward and slow. You must fall into my category of people who have never played UT 2004. Because if you did, you would see it the same way I see it. In UT 2004, you can walk, you can run, you can tap any direction and you dash in that direction, you can double jump, you can dash in combination with a jump, and you can pick up relics that make you run super fast. What can you do in halo? Walk and jump. And 180 turns only take 2 seconds. When I play UT 2004, I can turn 180 degrees faster than I can blink. FPS were meant to be played with a mouse, not a console controller. Shooting Aliens gets repetative after a while and the AI isn't the best. The aliens just stand there shooting at you, not even giving you the challenge of a moving target. As far as strategy, there is tons of it, Onslaught and Assault require a lot of strategy and team work. As far as UT 2004 maps being "limited," it's funny you should say that, because unlike Halo 2, you can download hundreds of maps that people keep continuing to make every day, so saying that UT 2004 maps are limited is like saying there isn't enough space to swim in the ocean. Look at the reviews of UT 2004 here on amazon, they speak for themselves. Almost half of these H2 reviews here are negative. Like I said before; if you don't have a PC, Halo 2 worth settling for, but if you do have one, don't waste your time with it. Go straight for the best FPS available, UT 2004.
