halo 1 is one of the most amazing games, along with metroid prime 1 (and 2). halo 2 however is just an over polished, softened version of the first game. i'm really dissappointed, the thing is they had nearly everything so tight in the first game but went and screwed with it. you don't feel that bang!! that gritty feeling it almost feels as though you have mittens and a dress on while playing. i'm really pleased to see that nintendo always focuses on innovation and has realised that hype and graphics do not make a game great. i don't know how much work bungie did but after three years, i expected a much better game, honestly one can only care about the storyline so much , but this is a game not a movie-if by chance you get a look at the extended dvd you will see that bungie admmitted all their mistakes(while eating pizza) and do not even realise it. i hope halo3 is better but i have my eyes on metroid prime 3 for now..
Whats the big deal

Halo 2 is worst than Halo 1. The doubling up on weapons isnt that cool because you waste all your ammo on one alien. The aliens look a lot like monkeys and half the time they only die when you hit them with your gun so Halo 2 isnt really a shooter game. Some missions are too enclosed so when you start a fight there is no where to go. Even if you liked Halo 1 dont get this because this game is so stupid.
Bungie, how could you?

My first reference: www.halo2sucks.com
I will list the reasons why the game is worse than Halo 1 (in which case, Halo 1 > Halo 2)
1. New glitches are being found EACH DAY.
2. Cheating online
3. auto-headshots with the sniper rifle
Ex. If the reticle is above the opponents head and you fire, the game will count that as a headshot.
4. The shotgun is incredibly inconsistent and the range of it in game is incredibly unrealistic. With the inconsistency, you will find yourself shotting people point blank in the head and they don't die. However, when they fire back at you, you actually die.
5. The default weapon is an SMG, the worst weapon in the entire game (asides from the needler, which has been dumbed down instead of increased in power as promised in the E3 demo)
6. Single-player isn't fun anymore. You can't play through legendary without dying about 100 times on each level and the storyline has A HUGE cliffhanger. You won't even see it coming. I didn't.
7. The plasma pistol/battle rifle combo makes matchmaking (the online service that matches players up with other same skilled players) very unenjoyable. (Charge pistol, fire, switch to battle rifle quickly, when the charge hits your target, get a headshot, insta-kill) And guess what! There's no way to dodge the plasma shot unless you run behind a wall. But then again, that works in any situation. @_@
8. Bungie not listening to their audience or too much of it. This is why the game has been, dare I say, n00bified. It is so n00b friendly in multiplayer you wouldn't believe it. The skill potential in this game is much lower than in Halo 1.
9. There are only 2 Earth "levels". These are divided into "stages" mind you. Bungie thinks the stages are actual levels but they're really not. This game is shorter than Halo 1. No joke. You can beat it on Normal in about 3-4 hours. Maybe 2 if you know what you're doing. What happened to "Earth will never be the same."? I wanted to fight the Covenent on EARTH! But almost all of the missions are set OFF of Earth. Believe it ladies, Bungie screwed their own game by lying while advertising.
10. If this game version is so limited, why are there thousands of unsold copies for the consumers?
Great Game But with Some Rough Edges

For those few people that have not had the privalege of playing the original Halo, Halo 2 must be absolutely amazing (and it is). For those of us that have been patiently waiting for the sequel, this game, while still wonderful, isn't quite the thrill of the original. For me, one of the few drawbacks to the original Halo was the rather drap, colorless environments. Well, they are back in Halo 2. The monotonous concrete corridors that your character is constantly walking through get a bit old after several hours. I hope the next Halo has better environments. That is, however, the ONLY critisism I have of this game. As others have noted, the plot wanders a bit, but that doesn't really bother me. The graphics are great, the cutscenes are pretty, the sound is truly fantastic. Most of all, this is a fun game. The extra disk has nice content on it.
Halo 2 is Great

The game is great altough I beat it in 11 hours. It has a decent story line but it lost itself in the end. They shoul have had a few more levels to spice up the end. They did a wonderful job at the game itself but, i mean they could have done a little better and they should have made it longer because it needed more of the online game play which i have heard is totally awsome.
IT IS THE BEST!!!!!

IT is undoubtedly the best. But for people who think it sucks, U CAN AT LESAT GIVE A REASONS INSTEAD OF BEING A RETARD. People say "oh wow in halo u can kill people it sucks" well ur acting dumb. IT IS THE SEQUAL TO AN EPIC GAME. NOTHING IS COMPLETE WITHOUT IT SO DONT BE A RETARD AND SAY NO!!! (besides there is no reason to say no. I dont care what the excuse ur trying think up)

I preordered the game over a month ago and despite the promised shipping date at the release of the game I was scheduled to get the game 10 days later...the one day shipping *cough*(what a joke). I was alittle irrate over this and just out of experimentation I tried ordering another copy today. It is scheduled to get here tomorrow (umm...ok). Suprised to say the least I tried canceling my previous order to no avail....guess I will be receiving 2 copies. Assuming they WILL let me return the one copy I suggest this could be a suitable course of action for those also in my predicament. Overall I am very disappointed with amazon's service and do not plan to preorder from them again.
Yeah I still dont have mine either but it shipped on Nov. 8

First of all, I have to admit that I am originally a Playstation loyalist but recently my buddy forced me to play Halo One this past weekend and I fell in love ( well and the fact that I was playing on a 64 inch plasma flat screen). So naturally I came to amazon to order the game. Well... I ordered it on Sunday morning at about 3 A.m. (actually saturday night after coming home from the bars). that was like three days ago. I have read all the other reviews about how people preorderd the game months ago and still havent received it. Well like the guys review below me... you should have read everything. It takes time to ship. If you cant wait a couple more days to get a game then I think you have a problem. Well to burst your bubble a little more, my game and new xbox system shipped out on the 8th. I had it shipped UPS ground so I am either gonna get it tommorow or thursday or friday. i really dont care. Ive been playing GTA:San Andreas for about 2 weeks straight anyways so it doesnt matter. Also I agree with that one guy you doesnt go with all the hype. Yes Halo is an unbelieveable game, both of them but, it is still an FPS just like any other. Of course I havent played it much other than at my buddy's place, so i cant give you my best review. But it does look Sweet.
Being a PS2 fan and a newcomer to the Xbox i have to say that i enjoy playing sports and GTA:SA on the PS2. But I think that I am going to play all my FPS on Xbox because they play better and look a whole lot better. Im excited for Call of Duty to come out later this month for Xbox.
All in all Im sorry that you guys are bummed that your game didnt come on time or when you mistakenly thought it would come. But just think of how much fun you will have when you get it. You gonna forget that it took a little long to get there. Next time if you really cant wait, just go to GameCrazy, Gamestop, EB, or best buy to preorder your games.
DId you know that they are selling Halo 2 at 7-11? There was a line outside the 7-11 down my street last night at midnight. I laughed. There were like 50 thugs all outside waiting int he cold. One guy had a pimped out Navigator with 2 Xbox systems (one in the backseat and one in the trunk with a 27inch plasma screen and a kicking sound system). a couple guys were playing eachother I think the guy linked the two systems bcs both systems had H2 going. Its funny how crazy ppl go for this stuff. Man its just a game....its not going anywhere.
So enjoy your gaming all you.
Another should have been 5 stars....

This game is great. The story-mode is pretty fun and the storyline is decent, but it is just a little bit short. I beat it in 3 days. (and no I'm not someone who sat at home all day everyday and played it.) The multiplayer is fun, and the on-line playing is fun too. There are some new weapons that give the game a 'fresh breath' along with being able to use all the alien vehicles you couldn't in the first game. You can also FINALLY use the Banshee (and all the other vehicles) in multiplayer. This game is very fun and worth buying ecspecially if you have XBOX live. The bonus DVD/disc that comes with the collectors edition isn't that great it just shows a few things they chose to leave out of the game and a bunch of computer nerds testing the game out in the middle of the making. Oh and to Jeremy Morrows you don't know what you're talking about you're just some bitter computer nerd who is angry that people can finally play better games such as Halo 2 on-line with a console. So first and foremost Jeremy f*** You man. ggggg...G-UNIT!
