This is one of the best next gen games released so far. The graphics are awesome and the gameplay is great. Some of the cutscenes in this game go over 20 minutes but they are worth watching. The story is superb as it finishes the story line from the Metal Gear Solid franchise. For those that never played any Metal Gear solid game I recommend you to buy "Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection" it contains all of the first three Metal gear solid games and they are great btw. It's selling for $29.99
The first metal gear solid game came out for the PS1 and the other two came out for the PS2. For those that can't buy it because you can't play PS2 games I would have to say maybe check wikipedia and read all of the story line of previous games otherwise if you have no clue about the metal gear solid world you will get lost. You won't know who this person is and why he is doing that and what not. You won't be able to enjoy this great game. So I recommend you knowing things about this franchise before buying this game. Bottom line is this game is a must own by every PS3 owner. That's how good it is.

There is only one disappointing thing I can come up with for this game... it ended! This is by far the new king of the PS3. It is a must own. Awesome gameplay, great story, excellent graphics. If you are already a fan of the series, you will love it. If you have never played a Metal Gear game before, I suggest downloading the Metal Gear Solid Database for free from the Playstation network. It will help fill in the back-story, and let you enjoy the game's story even more. I have beaten this game twice, once on normal and once on big boss hard. I haven't even touched multiplayer yet, which I think can only add to this games value. I can express enough how much I enjoyed this adventure. Buy it, and you won't be disappointed.

Is it possible to give a game an 11? If so, this would be the game that would merit that score. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a title that exceeds all of the hype that was attached to the title. Regardless of whether you've seen every trailer and screenshot, read every preview and heard every interview, you won't get a full sense of how phenomenal this title is unless you sit down and experience it for yourself.

He might be old, stress out and now a geezer. But Snake is back this time and still the tactical, funny bastard as in the pervious chapters. Snake is better then ever in this last chapter of his series, Konami made us wait 3 years and it was worth it. They were able to use ever bit of the PS3 power to produce some of the best graphics I have seem on a console ever. It looks so realistic and sounds like you are actually in the battlefield. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is by far this best in the series and provide some of the best movie scenes ever seem in a game. Now granted there are long cut scenes in the game, but if you ever played a Metal Gear game before this is normal. The cut scenes tie in to the game and if you have follow the story form the beginning everything is tied in completely in this last installment. This is a must for Metal Gear fans and PS3 lovers. Definitely Game of the year material, and in my opinion game of the year so far. This is a game for people who have follow the series and don't mind a good story, if you are a shoot first think later person, stick to Halo 3, and Gears of War, but it you like a good story and a game which requires thinking like Splinter Cell, and Ninja Gadien try Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots you wont be disappointed.

This game is one of the best game made to date. The story keeps you involved the whole way through. If you own a PS3 this is a must buy. I put this game down as an epic tale that needed to be told. I don't know how i will be able to play another game again without comparing it to this one.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Is One Of My Favorite Games. I've Been A Gamer For The Past 20 Years An Watched Games Grow Up With Me. I've Had Nearly Every Game System An Have Played The Best Of The Best Along The Way. But It Wasnt Till Recently I Picked Up The MGS4 PS3 Bundle An Could not Wait To Get It Home, Hook It Up An Start Playing Metal Gear Solid 4. There Was No Dissapointment Whatsoever. The Game Was Amazing From Start To Finish. It Was The Most Richly Detailed, Cinematic Video Game Experiace I've Ever Played.. Anyone Who Knock's This Game Needs To Take A Step Back A Relalize How Far Gaming Has Come An Except This As One Of The Greatest Video Game Acheivments Of Our Time. This Is The Future Of Gaming An I Hope We Have More Games Of This Calibur To Look Forward To In The Future.. So Don't Hesitate to Pick This One Up An Don't Let These Haters Fool You.. wow. great game, the only game that i finished on normal then hard back to back.
storyline is very detail and complete. Those who have followed the series will appreciate the details and the flashbacks. Newcommers will not get certain reference but will still appreciate it, the game explains the past well.
i don't need to write bout the graphic
the controls are excellent, tho i wish the camera reset itself when you're up against the wall.
25 hrs to finish on normal with all the cut scenes, 14hrs on hard without any cut scenes.
lots of easter eggs.
game to have for the ps3.

Ok, first of all, it is the first Metal Gear game that I hav ever played, and I think I am huge video game fan, I wish I had played the ealier games too. Anyway, I f you lke tactical games lke Splinter Cell this is the game for you, there is a lot of action levels as well as slow levels where you have to play it cool, when you finish the game, the cool pat is taht you get to keep all th weapons you have acuaired, as well as pnts to buy more. The only thing that I would change are the cutscenes, they are way too long, long enogh to get your laundry done. But besides that, this game is very good, good enough to play it all over aain after you just finished it. It tool me a week to finish it, wold have been less time if not for my Job. Hope thi is helpfull.

First off: This is a very cinematic game. Some scenes run over an hour. If you have never played any Metal Gear game, You WILL be confused by the story. Metal Gear solid is notoriously known for complex story lines. I highly recommend playing the previous games or researching the story before playing it.
Otherwise, This game allows a broad spectrum of choices for the player. You can choose which route to take on a map, Stealth or no stealth, which weapon is most effective, etc. The re-playability lies heavily on the ability. When you think there's only one way to get through a level, you talk to your friends and find out they did something completely different.
The boss fights are unique in this same way. Boss fights have never been so tense and exciting.
The online beta is decent. Key word there: Beta. It's not COD 4. It's not supposed to be. Get over it.
If you're looking for faults, I only wish you could play as Raiden. There's some crazy martial arts cutscenes with him and it would be great if the developers could have made a portion (no matter how small) playable. But that is a total nit-pick
If you're not into major story games, pass this up. But I encourage you to give it a shot anyway. This game will be spoken of for years to come.

This is a great sequel to all the other Metal Gear Solid games. The sound, graphics, gameplay, and story are all pretty much perfect. The only problem that i have with the game is that the online gameplay has a steep learning curve, and isn't as good as it could be for a game of this caliber. Overall though the game is definitely a buyer, and probably the best game currently available for the PS3.
