NFL2k eat this!

I have played many football games in my life, and i have never really enjoyed the Madden series. Then MADDEN 2001 for PS2 came out and i decided to play it. Wow, it just changed my view on football games all together. The people, animations, commentary, sounds, its so realistic. It really is the most realistic Football game i have played. But where realism comes in, may turn some people away. The players move slower, but that may turn people away from this game, because it seems less action packed. But it will bring in the hard-core gamers, who really wanna feel like they are in the game.

Almost flawless.

As you'll have heard, EA sports has truely outdone themselves with this game. It's fun, challenging and it never gets boring. One of the best things about Madden NFL 2k1 is the draft/rookies, every athlete has their own rating for his performance level. Say you go into the Fanchise mode and you enter the draft and you recruit a RB whose rating is a 90 for speed, 80 for strength, and a 50 for awareness. Sure he has potential but the better you play with him and the more you make intellegent plays with him then the higher his rating will go. This is an outstanding attribute to the game, because as you play more seasons marquee players can have bad seasons and RBs such as Eddie George, or QB's such as Payton Manning can be more succeptible to making bad decisions thus their ratings decrease. The only Flaw I've noticed is that in the draft none of the rookies have pictures. Hey nobody's perfect, but I'll tell you what this Madden NFL 2k1 comes mighty close.

Madden 2001 is the most visually stunning football game ever. The game simply amazed me the first time I saw it. But when I started to play it, I noticed a problem. The running is too smooth, and the tackling is too hard. I swear, my friend and I were playing and whenever we handed the ball off we'd get around 7-12 yards per carry. It turned the game into a shootout, we were scoring every drive.

If you can overlook that problem, the game is amazing. The passing is highly realistic and the graphics are superb.

I recommend this to anyone with a PS2; it's a must have.

This has to be the best Madden football game ever. I just played this game and the controls are easy, the graphics are stunning, and even the commentary is great. The intro to the game features a rap song by Xzibit, which really got me hyped about this game. I have played NFL2K on dreamcast, and that game was so hard to play. The graphics were great, but it was too hard to play. Madden 2001 is a step above the rest. Buy this game, and I promise you won't be disappointed.

I have both Madden 2001 and NFL2k1. I must say that without a doubt Madden 2001 is a better game. The play is definetly more realistic and much more competitive. The supporters of NFL2k1 keep saying how great the on-line play is for it. I have never been able to play a complete game because of all the lag and slow down that occurs while playing.

I had a chance to see this and the sega version being played at the same time @ Best Buy. While the detail inbetween plays waws much better on this version, the graphics during play were at best the same or even a little worse. It may have been the different TV's but the sega version seemed more detailed and crisp as if the resolution was a bit better. That's why four instead of five stars. With all the talk about PS2, I was expecting at least some difference but may be we will have to wait until NFL/NHL 2002.

This is the best game yet. Last night I came downstairs and the demo was on of the Madden 01. I looked and turned around. I had to look one more time to make sure that it wasn't a real NFL game on TV. I haven't played Dreamcast NFL2K1 yet so I can't say how much better it is but if NFL2K1 is better, I'll pay 100 dollars just for the game. I believe Madden has outdone himself and I don't see how when 2002 comes out it can be any better. And if you are wondering how playstation2 is so much better then dreamcast, here's why. PSX2 has a DVD player and a DVD usually runs about 200 dollars alone. The 128 bits is really 128 bits not like Dreamcast's is really about 100 bits. All I can say is get the PSX2 it is worth 300 dollars and more.

This is the best game I have ever played in my life. I play it all day long and don't get tired of it. The graphics are unmatched. You must get this game!!!

This game is definetly everything that the posters have said it is, and more. When I play a game I look at numerous aspects to determine whether or not I like. Aspects such as graphics, sound, control, but most importantly: the fun-factor. A game can have terrific graphics and not be fun, and a game can also have rather primitive graphics and be very enjoyable. Case in point, Madden 64, the first Madden game to the N64. Rather sub-par graphics, but still perhaps the best football game ever, because of the fun-factor. Now where does Madden 2001 stack up in terms of fun-factor, you might ask. I can only say that this game is incredibly fun to play, which surprised me when I saw the graphics are as good as they are. This game is incredible. Buy it. Now.
