One of the best games on the PS2! I bought this game without renting it first (I never do that), and I am not sorry. The gameplay, story, beautiful graphics, and soundtrack are all superb! "Onimusha: Warlords" is better than "Onimusha 2" and 3 (not yet available). Kida like how "Tomb Raiders" was the best game on the PS1 (better than all other sequels), simply because the first was so great it was extremely hard to improve on it. It helps to have an 8MB memory card handy when diving into "Onimusha: Warlords". I just have one complaint. Why do these game companies change their covers when a game becomes 2 or 3 years old? They ruin the originality of the cover art by throwing a silly "Greatest Hits" sign on it! Leave the game alone... I think us gamers can figure out what are our greatest hits.
Very fun game that you'll get into

This game has really nice pre rendered backrounds and the best graphics for it's time. The moving around is easy because the camera angles don't effect how you angle yourself to move. Foward is always forward, nomatter how the camera has shifted. The puzzles aren't immpossible and the powering up system is awsome. Best survival horror game. More action. The voices aren't very good. The music makes up for it. Short, it only takes 4 and a half hours to beat. The plot is good and the levels are really cool. Extremely fun game and it is only $20.

I just purchased Onimusha a day early from a local retailer and my first impression was astounding. The opening movies (although a little lengthy) are absolutely gorgeous. The game basically is set up as a movie with you playing the title charecter. The game play does not disappoint. The controls are rather simple to grasp. The game is very innovative with many new moves and plenty of puzzles to keep you busy. A few of the problems i found was the camera angles were sometimes in awkward position restricting your vision of monsters. The game also was very short besides the movies. All in all this game was very fun and i recommend renting this game before buying because the replay value is not as great as other titles.

This game is great. If you liked Resident Evil you'll love this game. Grapics- The Grapics are jaw dropping. The Opening CG scene is the best in any video game and at some points you belive it is real! Control- If you have played Resident Evil you will be right at home. If not it will take a couple of seconds to get use too. Gameplay- Again same as RE but with a sword. Of course their are puzzles etc. Bottom Line- This game is a must have if you have a PS2! Trust ME!

This is a very fun game with fantastic graphics somewhat in the mold of Resident Evil meets Tenchu. While more action oriented and not as many puzzles than the Resident Evil/Dino Crisis, the controls are very similar (as are those same annoying camera angles). The graphics are excellent and there are new neat features such as having the option to listen to the voice overs in Japanese with English subtitles at the bottom. Its just like watch Chairman Kaga from Iron Chef! If you are a fan of the Resident Evil series or even Tenchu, you should buy this game.

I give this game 4 stars. It is one of the better games I have played on the PS2. It doesn't have much competion at this point but as of now I think it is the best survial-horror game on the PS2. The new Resident Evil has got pretty damn good to beat Onimusha. It has great graphics a good story plot and good sound effects not great but good. The reason I only gave it 4 stars was because it is too short and my 6 year old brother could figure out the puzzles. If you are a hardcore Resident evil fan like I am this game won't even put up a fight.
Great fun

I want everyone to get this game now. Go up to the "Add to Cart" button and click it. This game is worth every cent you'll pay. It's a very fun game. The graphics are just gorgeous, it's just so clear and sharp. The gameplay is great too. It feels so good to be slicing into those dirty monsters. Anyways, buy this game. It has restored faith into the PS2.

Finnaly, A PS2 game that truly showcases the PS2 power. Yes I was one of the lucky to get my hands on the PS2 on 10/26/2000, but Its seen more movie time then game time. Onimusha: Warlords is the only PS2 game that's held my attention for more then an hour. Warlords story is basic, a princess is kidnapped by evil guy, good guy must save the day. Unlike Resident Evil, Warlords has a few little eggs that make this far supirior. First of all in warlords you have the ability to preform some great combo's , magic attacks, and one hit kills. Also Warlords gives you what RE dosen't, the abilitty to Block. Warlords has some great eye candy, with seemless backgrounds, great looking enemys, and the magic attacks look great. Onishma: Warlords in my opinon, Is the best "Survival Horror" game to date, but warloads is also a little more fast paced then Traditional "Survival Horror". So if your a fan of Resident Evil but its too "Slow & Mindless" then try Onishuma: Warlords,

Onimusha displays some of the best graphics on the PS2 to date. The opening cinema is simply amazing and the in game graphics aren't to shabby either. As far as the gameplay goes I never thought it could be so much fun to kill demons as it is in this game. There is a pretty good variety of weapons to choose from as you progress through the game which keeps things from getting boring. The only areas this title falls short in are its length(about five or six hours the first time through) and its cliche story line(save the princess). If your a fan of the Resident Evil Series or even Tenchu this is definetly a must buy!
