This is the second best game I own. The first is of course The Bouncer, but I already gave it 5 stars so on to Onimusha. The story line is very good, and so are the characters. The controls are easy to learn too. The cinemas are the best. Well not as good as The Bouncer, but close. so if you're gonna buy a game buy The Bouncer, but if you're gonna buy two, then just get both of them.
Don't buy this ...!!

This is not really a game at all! Basically, all you do is kill a demon or two with a sword and then watch a fifteen minute movie in between about five minute segments of gameplay. The controls are horrible too.
Looks good for the 1st few cut scenes,then...

when you start playing you start yawning.
The problem with games with pre-rendered backgrounds is that it completely ruins the pacing of an action game. If you look at any action film these days the camera and the elements being filmed all move.
This kind of cinematorgraphy goes back to the days of film before D. W. Griffith. Ie set the camera down and let the actor run around until he leaves the room. Then set the camera down in a new location and repeat.
If you like games like Resident Evil or Fear Effect this game is for you. Also if you like solving awkward puzzles, this game is for you. Any time one has to put an awkward puzzle into a game to mix up the game play means that one is totally out of ideas for the game. Like still cameras, awkward puzzles break the pacing of the game.

This game is great! it is like resident evil set in early japan. you fight your way through legions of demons to save the princess and help the ogre clan. during the game you get several different japanese weapons each with a special ability, fire, lightning, and wind. and unlike resident evil you must build up your weapons level by fighting enemys. beat the game and you can unlock new costumes and other secrets. If you like chopping up enemies or are a fan of the RE seris then this game is deffinatly for you.
So so Game

I bought the PS2 Adventure Pack, and this game was included in it, so I got dissapointed from PS2 after having finished this game (fortunately after playing GT3 I got my expectations back high again). In short, this game has good graphics, not as much as I would have expected, Capcom could have done a better job with the graphics. The sound is ok, except in some parts that there is not syncronicity between the voice and the movements of lips from the characters. The story is good but not too deep, very simply actually, fight the demons, save the princess, solve a few puzzles, etc (better storyline you can find in silen hill 2). The most dissapointing feature of this game is that you can finish it after 4 or 5 hours of playing, meaning that it is too short for hardcore gamers, and there is not replay value at all. For those of you who are about to buy it, I suggest you rent it first, it is not worth paying (dollar amount) for a game that you will leave behind after 2 or three days of playing. Anyways I still had a good time after the four hours it took me to beat the game, so that's the only reason I give it a 3 stars, otherwise I would have given it 2 or 1 star.
Great graphics but TOO SHORT to beat the game

I think this game has the best graphics ever for the PS2, the fighting system was excellent and sound was great too. It is really fun to kill all those monsters with your sword and perform your own "fatalities". But the game has a really, REALLY BAD characteristic: its length. It took me less than 4 hours to beat the game. I was VERY, VERY disappointed. I should have rented this game INSTEAD of buying it.
Too short

This game's main problem was its length. It was excedingly short, considering the puzzles were overly simplistic. The battle system was decent and the game packed a good amount of fun. Also, the graphics were intricately designed, which gives the game a little boost. Hopefully the new one that will be coming out will be longer and possibly add more options for battle. Looking forward to it...
Graphics good, game bad

Listen, I will admit that this game's graphics are just about second to none, but that's about all this game has going for it. This Samurai-type guy is on a quest to save a woman, which doesn't really take to long. Along the way you kill the same demons over and over, you have only one attack and one block. After you kill all the demons at one location, you're interrupted by more slow plot lines that actually take away from the rest of the game. The game is slow and transitions are sketchy, the controls leave MUCH to be desired, the plot is boring and rudely interrupts you. If not for the story pieces, an average gamer could easily beat this game in about an hour. ...[Save] your moolah for ANYTHING else.

This game is one of the most inspiring games Capcom Co. has ever made. The game controls are out standing. Its so good My 9 year old cousin knows the handling by heart.I'd give it a 5 star because he moves, storyline, characters, speech, and culture are my type of game Genre. This game is the best RPG game there is.Many
number and word puzzles make it more difficalt. It just needs one more thing added to this game,More bosses. This game is awsome!
