this it the most incredible game i have played the graphics are awsome the selection of weapons and it has just everything you can ask for in a game it is truly a classic. i really recomend this game you won't be disapointed. the game is challengin if you play the hard mode which is (normal) but when you play normal its too hard so you might want to start off with the easy mode unless you like challenging ...games. you wont be disapointed its trully the best classic game ever made can't wait to play devil may cry2.

the game has too little main characters, this is not anything to compare to final fantasy 1-12.

The game changed my mind about PS2

To begin with, I didn't care too much about PS2. I mostly got my gaming enjoyment fix from my Dreamcast, PSX, PC and Xbox (purchased Dec 2001). Then one day I saw this game on my friend's PS2, and in the same day I also got a darn good offer on a used PS2 system with 2 games included (one of which being DMC). I have to say that this is one of those rare games that you won't want to put down until you have finished it. The graphic is just simply amazing. The level design and the details they put into it just blew me away. The characters design and animation are fluid. The storyline is engaging enough for you to care about. There's a lot of replaybility (secrets, upgrades, etc). The sound design is right on the money. Games such as Resident Evil series and Genma Onimusha should take cue from Devil May Cry. In my opinion, this game has been the best reason for me to buy PS2. I can't wait for Devil May Cry 2, especially with the circulating rumor of it being considered to be released on Xbox too (that'd be a major graphic upgrade!).

This is the best game! I had hours of fun and I couldn't stop playing it. The angles are great. It is very realistic. The controls are great very easy to learn I had a friend he played for his first time and did fine. Whats great about is that after every level you get a rating then they pay you for that rating. Its an easy game to learn and the fun lasts.

Bad Story

I think the game frame is good, but the story and the cinematics were fair. When you have a machine with the power of the ps2 you ca develop better stories. I ended the game quickly not like his counterpart Resident Evil: Code Veronica X.

A game with minor flaws and some major....

(...) First of all lets go with the positive things. The gameplay is incredibly awesome and reminds me of my days back before the days of the 32 bit world. That's right, it like playing an old fashioned 8 -bit (or 16) game. It was funner than it looks. The music also sets a lot of the mood and has that action twists to it that makes you want more from the game. Its a great challenge in some ways. What really does make it seem like one of those stage-by-stage games of the past is that it actually IS a stage-by-stage or mission-by-mission game. Only with a Resident Evil twist. Actually the game was originally going to be an RE game.

What lacks? Well, I'm getting tired of every CAPCOM game I play nowadays it has something to do with demons, or Zombies. (Onimusha, Resident Evil Code Veronica....) Next is the Control scheme. The controls are easy to learn. So simple thats its not funny. What the problem is, is that you'll start to get them mixed up. Game modes are rather strange. Don't think that because you went through the game on Easy you'll be able to take on normal. Whats in normal doesn't EXIST in easy. Getting easy mode is actually somewhat of a secret in itself. You have to die within the first three missions.

That voice acting? Terrible. AGAIN!! AND THIS HAPPENS SO MUCH! THEY HAVE GOOD VOICES BUT THE ACTING IN SHOWING ATTITUDE OR EMOTION IS JUST HORRIBLE!

I know the game seems short but its actually one of the longest Action/adventure games out there. If you want a short game then go buy Zone of the Enders!

Because of all the action, I guess CAPCOM neglected the story line. After Resident Evil Code Veronica, I thought they were getting somewhere with story and plot. I was wrong. The story is weak! But you'll be having so much fun you may barely notice it.

The game has nice and sweet graphics. Not to mention Special effects that will blow you away.

One other negative is that the game may seem TOO challenging to those who are new to the game. The DEMO CD that comes with RECVX is not enough to get you through normal.

There aren't many selectons for weapons. If you want weapons play the new game Metal Gear Solid 2 and you'll know what I mean.

One final negative before I rap this up. The camara angles in the game are very frustraiting to use! Especially because the only way to move around is with the analog stick. While that gives comfort it certainly doesn't when the camara shifts and down moves you forward! It becomes frustraiting especially when fighting boss enemies.

OVERALL: The game wasn't that bad. I'd say the lentgh was better than most other games I've played (about 6-12 hours, but that makes it longer than a ton of action/adventure games because there are almost NO cinematic scenes whatsoever making it longer than MGS2). Not to mention that it was good to remember the old days. I'd recomend the game because there are tons of secrets to unlock and it does have good replay value.
