Man, this game rocks! You gotta buy this one. Play as Tony Hawk or other great legendary skateboarders in a grinding, spinning, and high-flying action. The controls are easy to get used to and great if your a novice in these types of games. The graphics are smooth and not blurry. The point of bashing police cars or bashing "No Skating!" signs while performing devastating tricks is very fun! This one is a must buy for every skateboarding fan.

It's magnificent!

I was up all night at a church lock in and saw everyone playing this game. I realy didn't like sports games at all. My cousin convinced me to play and imediatly I was into it. It takes very little time to get used to it. I played all night and didn't get tired of it. I'm going to save up some money and buy it online, and I suggest you do the same!

this game isnt exactly as good as people make it out to be. there is not a huge variety of tricks to do and there mostly vert tricks. this game shows no value to street skaters because most of the tricks that earn you big points are vert tricks. This game thought is fun. Its really easy and ideal for people that dont know anything about skateboarding. The pros are good and the board grpahics are cool to. But there are no up and coming skaters. i found it fun and easy but it also kind of brings you into a fantasy world of skateboarding where you there a ramps in malls and rails in area 51.

I'd give it ten stars if it were possible!

Pro Skater made me think pretty hard about which of my pSX games is the favorite, and along with medal of honor it is my favorite game. It has superior graphics that never have polygonal dropouts ( the only problem with medal of honor) and the levels are excellently designed, with so many secret areas that I discover a new one practically every time I play it. It has so many tricks that I can't even count them all. It has many levels and decks, trucks, and wheels to choose from, as well as many skaters, like Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek (my favorite), Bob Burnquist, and Chad Muska. One of the best games ever for the playstation, buy it now!

This game HAS to be concidered as one of the best sporting games of all time. Yes, skateboarding is a sport and it will now be recognized even more as a sport because of this game. Great controls, great music, and challenging courses, what more is there to say?

Fun, but very dated

Back when this game first came out, it was a groundbreaking effort for extreme sports video-games, most of which were, (and for the most part, still are) mediocre at best. The tricking system was simple, and easy to learn. The level design was the best in the genre, and the level objectives were fun.
But that was three years ago. Today, even for the incredibly cheap asking price I just can't recommend purchasing the original game in this series, beacuse for just a few dollars more you could do a whole lot better with any of the sequels in the series. Provided, the latest two sequels (3 and 4) were primarily designed for next-generation consoles, but they did come out on PLaystation 1, Game Boy Advance, and dare I say, Game Boy Color, so you should be able to find the game of your choice on the platform of your choice.

I've never even set foot on a skateboard before and I think this game is awesome! This is the first playstaion game I bought, and It's still my favorite! This game may be a little tricky at first, but you'll get use to it. I would recomend getting the cheats for this game, b/c you can make the special light up and the players can earn massive points this way. Also, unlock Officer Dick and then Private Carerra-she's the best (mad speed).
This game is so much fun, any game player should definately invest the cash to add this to their collection!

The best breakthrough game ever!

This is the first instalment of the tony hawk series. This is the start of greatness because it allows you for the first time to become one of your favorite skateboarders. You board through great levals completing objectives and winning compatitions. This is also an awsome multiplayer game. You get to skate against your friends to get the most points or in the grafiti mode. In grafiti you see who can do the most tricks on different areas of the leval whoever claims the most territory wins. This is an all aroung great game and a must buy but the graphics could use some work.

Awesome Start

This game has single-handedly made me use my PlayStation again.

I cannot put into words the fun that this game offers. The graphics are great, the movements are very fluid, and I think the physics are spot on.

I think this game is well suited towards all ages, as it is non-violent, and it can appeal to parents as well as children. You don't have to even like or know how to skateboard before playing.

Now that this game has gone Platinum, it is even more value. No game collection should be without this game!
