This is a GREAT game! First, let me start off by saying this game is well worth the heafty price tag. You will spend hours upon days upon weeks, and possibly months, on this brilliant game! Splinter Cell is first and foremost and action/stealth game, but can appeal to any gamer. The graphics are outstanding and feature some of the best animation, lighting, and shadowing of any game on any console EVER-they look exactly the same as the Xbox graphics, for those of you that have your doubts. The enviorments are all varied in style and substance, and interactive-you can shoot out lights, use bottles and other objects for weapons, etc. The CIA Infiltration level alone is worth this game's purchase! It is just that good, solid fun! The controlls are great and many weapons and undercover gadgets come into play at very unexpectied and useful spots. One of the cleverest gadgets are the Opticable camera that looks under doors, and sticky cameras that can be reused as both a camera and a very painful weapon if hit in the head by an enemy! The sound and voice acting are decent to, with great moody and tense music, great sound effects, and nice cutscenes and cinematics. The gameplay itself is the biggest plus in the game. The missions are all very diverse, detailed, and will take even skilled and veteran gamers many an hour to complete. Even though the missions can become frustrating and many drag on far to long, they always are fresh and feel exciting and new. All in all, Splinter Cell is a must buy for every gamer. Ubisoft has created a masterpiece, with phenomenal graphics and sound, to killer, deep and inovative gameplay that everyone with a PS2 should experience. 5 out of 5-YOU WILL NOT REGRET YOUR PURCHASE!
Hell of an exellent game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are Sam Fisher of the Third Echelon, a divison of the NSA. You Have the right to spy, steal, destroy and assassinate to ensure that American Freedoms are protected. If captured, the U.S. governemnt will disavow any knowledge of your existence.
YOU are a Splinter Cell.
With that said you will become very addicted to this game once you start it. The espionage is this game is something that James Bond (my favorite spy) could take a few lessons from. It is so cool how they emphasized the stealth action, (hence what the cover says, "Stealth Action Redefined") and that the dark is your best friend, (especially when an enemy see's you and there is no place to hide and he walks over to where you he thinks you are and you kill him :) ). There is however, one very small part of the game that I dont like but it is still pretty fun becuase it teaches you new ways to move around. There are 2 levels ( the CIA HQ Level and the First Chinese Embassy Level) In which you are not allowed to KILL anyone, but like i said, that just makes it more fun becuase you can Knock them out and be done with them. Just make sure you hide the bodies. Well aside from what i said i can really think of anything else to say about this game aside from BUY IT. You will not regret it.
Just Remeber: Stay in the Dark and Hide the Bodies.
No doubt a great game!

I have very very sadly never got the chance to complete a MGS game, but hey Splinter Cell works just fine for me. MGS might be great and all, but I don't care what people say I will always think Splinter Cell is better. The only reason people might not like it is if their stupid and they can't handle a game that is actually realistic, and where the bad guys actually shoot back at you. Splinter Cell is top notch and probably one of the best games I have ever played on PS2. The controls are easy the gadgets are sweet and the satisfaction of killing someone(don't care how twisted this sounds) is great! Love this game and can't wait till the sequel come out!!

If you like the metal gear games then you'll love splinter cell. the game is completely based on stealth. to help you there are pipes, fences and zip lines to help you navigate through the darkness. shoot out lights and throw different objects throughout the game to distract your oponents while you sneak away or close in for the kill!

Splinter Cell is perhaps the best stealth game I have ever played. Many elements come together to make this game extremely enjoyable while keeping it quite realistic.
This game is much more life-like and precise in its controls than Hitman 2. It is also edgier and has that "this could actually happen" feeling that MGS2 lacks.
Let's look at the pros and cons:
PROS:
-Sweet grapics. The light and shadow are second to none.
-Great sound. Voice acting is awesome and never out of place.
-Very gritty and realistic.
-Cool stealth moves. I love hiding bodies and sniping.
-Just the right amount of gadgets to keep things realistic.
-Sam Fisher is super cool.
-Very detailed levels.
-Very responsive game play.
-Night-vision and heat-vision add great depth to certain levels.
CONS:
-Not a super-high replay value
-The levels are very structured. This is not a bad thing in itself, I was just hoping for a more "free-roaming" type of game.
Don't fool yourself, this game is not Hitman where you carry half a dozen weapons at a time, can blow people twenty feet in the air with a revolver and can shoot your way through levels "Rambo" style. All of these things are very fun of course, it's just that Splinter Cell is a much more realistic approach to stealth action and is a very rewarding game for those of you who like to think before you shoot. A must-have and I can't wait for the sequel.
Absolutely great!

Splinter Cell is an awesome shooting game, combining stealth, tricks of light, and very many other things to pull into a package of an impressive looking, and impressive playing game to back it all up. The graphics are extremely detailed, with patches of light here and there on the floors. The walls look like walls, So i give 5 stars to the graphics department. Realism- this game is very realistic! You have to sneak up against a wall and peek around corners, whip out your gun and try to shoot them, and some people might STILL see you! The people walk in a fashion where they are very sensitive to sound, and unless you are crouching and walking slowly they will whip around to reveal you and start shooting immediately, and also chase after you instead of just standing there stupidly not knowing what to do. Several times you will find in the game that sneaking up behind someone is essential in continuing the game. The game also has lots of moves that are very handy and cool. Tiptoeing behind a person to grab them and knock them out is great. YOu dont even have to be holding them to do so, which i figured out later. Also you can even use them as a human shield!! I foudn this great, so if another guard comes grab his buddy and whip out your pistol. Make sure he's protecting you though and your not at an angle, because he will get you. Also some noteworthy moves are the wall jump, jump attack, wall split, the peek around corners, plus the night goggles come in handy too. There are other moves but ill be here forever. I found this game a bit hard, I'm only on the power plant mission right now and im having trouble defeating it, but it makes it challenging which makes it more realistic. Not to mention that the enemies are much smarter this time, they have automatic turrets, wall mines, and even dogs to smell you down and sniff you. Plus lights to see where you are and anything from pistols to rifles. One of the best weapons in the game you get in the CIA mission, which is one of the best guns. You can load sticky shockers into them, which can knock out a person by shocking them just by looking at them, a great alternative then killing in case you're not allowed to or don't want to risk hiding a body. All in all, this is a wonderful shooter game, which you'll enjoy a lot, so get it!
A little hard but.......

This game is just about perfact it has some of PS2 greatest graphics. The controals are a little shakey at first but once you get canfortable with them you are good to go.The missions are super long and sometimes comfuseing,so if you get frustrated easily you should buy the strategy guied.
Finally, you only get two weapons throughout te hole game.

Welcome to the world of covert ops! This game is extremely realistic, except you cant knock on walls like in MGS2, but thats ok, because all the high tech gadgets make up for that. I love this game so much, that i've bbeaten it and I still go through the levels! Guarenteed to please if you are into stealth games! This does require a lot of patience, But HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is by far, the best spy/stealth game ever made! The Graphics are smooth, the sound is superb, gameplay is five-stars, and AI is perfect. The thermal and night vision goggles assist in your pitch-black missions, along with well animated moves such as ziplining, repelling, rolling, wall-splits, and dives. The missions are complex, yet fun and
suspenseful.
Overall, I rate this a must-buy for EVERYONE!
